The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed Wednesday defection of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the party and described it as a sign of total collapse of failed President Muhammadu Buhari government.

In a statement issued by the party National Publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said “The return of the Governor to PDP confirms that President Muhammadu Buhari’s led-administration and the APC do not have the welfare of Nigerians at heart, as they have continually offer flimsy excuses over the mindless killings that have caused untold sorrows across the country, particularly Benue state.

Anyone can say anything just for campaign, however the fact that Ortom has decamped does not mean that the President has failed.
It doesn't mean Mr President doesn't have the interest of the nation at heart...a person decamping is certainly not a collapse of the Buhari administration and that is what these fancy talkers don't realize..... The APC will regroup and make plans on the positive way forward to lead the country to greater heights.

PDP can only capitalize on the killings and nothing else, believe you me, this killings will end in no time, the perpetrators and the sponsors will be apprehended as well. That being said, the defection of Ortom from APC to PDP can never be the evidence of total collapse of APC. He is no political powerhouse therefore even if a thousand Ortoms, Melayes and so on defect, it will not avail much. Defecting can only shake APC, it won't pull them down.
