Prof. Moghalu Discusses The Paradigm Shifts Needed For Africa's Prosperity by Nobody: 5:30pm On Aug 19, 2018
Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Kingsley Moghalu clearly outlines the radical economic transformation that must occur for Africa to take its rightful place as an abode of prosperity for its peoples. In a thought-provoking session at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars based in Washington DC, USA, the thorough-bred economist (and current presidential contestant under the YPP) bared his mind on what he termed "the paradigm shifts" which would serve as springboards for Africa to become the "Last economic Frontier". The event which happened in 2014 also served as a session to review Professor Kingsley's book:"Emerging Africa: How the Global Economy's 'Last Frontier' Can Prosper and Matter".

The paradigm shifts were mentioned under statements like:

- How Africa engages with the phenomenon of globalization (maximizing nationalist policies and the essence of technology)

- Africa will not matter economically until Africa countries become industrial manufacturing economies rather than predominantly agriculture or extractive economies.

- Africa needs to develop a clear and comprehensive world view (Each country should determine its worldview).

- The myth that Africa is rising needs some pause and evaluation. Are we seeing signs of real transformation despite the increasing population rate? Is economic growth outpacing population growth? How to improve productivity and maximize the use of Science and Technology?

- Africa must move towards economic diversification and economic complexity.
