Eidh-l-Adha: Expected of a Muslim of this day.

It is no more news that,
Today 10th of Dhul-Hijjah,
Is for the celebration of the long awaited Eidh-l-Adha.
However, below are some etiquette expected of a believer.


Doing the Ghusl (Ablution) before the prayer
It was narrated in a saheeh hadith of Al-Muwatta
That Abdullah ibn Umar used to perform Ghusl on the day of Eidh
Before going out for the prayer in the morning.


However, An-Nawawih, may Allah be pleased with him
Said that Muslim scholars, unanimously agreed.
That it is mustahab to do ghusl before going to eidh
In other words, it's recommended to perform ablution before going to the gathering.


Muslims are as well advised not to eat anything
Before going out for the eidh
But whence back from the prayer
One can then eat, and take from the sacrifice.


Another etiquette on this auspicious day,
Is saying the Takbeer, which runs;
Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar
La ilaha illalah Allahu Akbar, Walilahil Hamd.


This is said to mean
Allah is the most great, Allah is the most great.
There is no God but Allah
And to Allah belongs the praise.


Also among the etiquette includes,
Offering congratulations to fellow Muslims
This is done by saying, Taqoballalahu mina waminkum
May Allah accept it from us and from you.


On the day of Eidh as well
One is expected to adorn one's self
This is putting on the best of one's attire
As it is fondly done by the apostle of Allah.


Also, going to Eidh by different routes
As it was narrated by Jaabir ibn Abdullah
That Muhammad the messanger of Allah
Use to go to eidh with one route and return by another route.



May Allah accept all of our ibaadat on this auspicious day, Eidh Mubarak dear brethens. Taqoballalohu Minna Waminkum.
