Bible Study (1st July, 2019): THE SIGNIFICANT GROWTH OF GOD'S KINGDOM ON EARTH

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZTsbi25Jg8

The Significant Growth Of God's Kingdom On Earth

Mark 4:26-33 KJV
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; [27] And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. [28] For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. [29] But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. [30] And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? [31] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: [32] But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. [33] And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

He taught them what was relevant, revealing, redeeming, regenerating, refreshing, renewing, recovering and when you come to hear the word of God you must have that attitude. It is supposed to make us discover.

1. The Shining Godliness of the saints from the heart.

Mark 4:21-25 KJV
And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? [22] For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. [23] If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. [24] And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. [25] For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

Matthew 5:14-16 KJV
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. [15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Ephesians 5:8,11-14 KJV
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. [12] For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. [13] But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. [14] Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Mark 4:22-23 KJV
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. [23] If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Nothing hidden. There is no wisper into the ears of anybody. So live your life as if all your dealings, relationships, counseling you give, agreement you make with anybody, every discussion will eventually come to the open.

Matthew 10:26-27 KJV
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. [27] What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 KJV
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Mark 4:24 KJV
And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

Necessary, needful and noble hearing. Hear and meditate and examine yourself, what you are hearing, check up with your life, hear and repent, obey and take heed.

Hear and pray. After hearing we go to pray for grace to do.
Hear and internalise. Don't allow it to fall.
Hear and be transformed.

Take heed to the content, understanding of what you hear.

Luke 8:18 KJV
Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

How you hear. Your body language can indicate how you hear. It is how you hear that will indicate what enters into your heart.

Mark 4:25 KJV
For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

New hearing.

Let not the word be lost on you.

New heights.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Matthew 13:12 KJV
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

2. The Silent Growth of the seed till Harvest.

Mark 4:26-29 KJV
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; [27] And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. [28] For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. [29] But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

i) Discerning not how. The sowing of the work of salvation is the word of God. Try to fully understand before we sow.

Ecclesiastes 8:17 KJV
Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it ; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

Spiritual experiences is the work of God you cannot discern how.

Ecclesiastes 11:5 KJV
As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

John 3:7-8 KJV
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. [8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Mark 4:28 KJV
For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

Development by herself. God will make you grow. You will develop.

Philippians 1:6 KJV
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

The word is refreshing your life don't give up.

Philippians 2:13 KJV
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Mark 4:29 KJV
But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Destiny at the time of harvest. That harvest is the final destiny of each man. What you have done with the word you have heard will determine what God will do on that harvesting day.

Harvest means the judgment day.

Joel 3:12-13 KJV
Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. [13] Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

Matthew 13:39-41 KJV
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. [40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. [41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

People who are offensive.

Matthew 13:42-43 KJV
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. [43] Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Revelation 14:13 KJV
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

You will not die outside the grace of God. He will give you reward in heaven.

Revelation 14:14-19 KJV
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. [15] And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. [16] And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. [17] And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. [18] And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. [19] And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

Revelation 14:13 KJV
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

This will be my lot. As we get to heaven.

3. The Significant Great Number Of Seekers in His House

Mark 4:30-32 KJV
And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? [31] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: [32] But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

Matthew 13:31-32 KJV
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: [32] Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

Revelation 7:9-17 KJV
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; [10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. [11] And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, [12] Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. [13] And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? [14] And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. [15] Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. [16] They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. [17] For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

I will be among that number who are counted worthy to be there.

MONDAY BIBLE STUDY: 15/07/2019

TOPIC: GREAT CALM THROUGH THE MASTER'S INTERVENTION.

GHS: 55: ANYWHERE WITH JESUS

BIBLE READING: PSALMS 133-137

TEXT: MARK 4: 35-41

Three points to be considered:

1) THE PERSONAL PROCLAMATION OF OUR INFALLIBLE CHRIST.

2) HIS PERFECT PEACE IN AN IRRECONCILABLE CRISIS.

3). THE PREVAILING POWER OF OUR IRRESISTIBLE CHRIST.

JESUS Christ said unto His disciples, "LET US PASS OVER UNTO THE OTHER SIDE ". and when Jesus Christ was in the ship with His disciples, there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship but Jesus Christ was sleeping on a pillow, and when the Apostles awake Him and He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, "PEACE, BE STILL ". And the wind obeyed Him and there was a great calm. and so we understand that, Jesus Christ calms the storm and wind and waves obeyed Him..
√ In Mark 4:35: We see the Passing Over to the other side
√ In Vs 36: we see The Presence of Jesus Christ in the Ship.
√ In Vs 37: we see The Peril of a Great Storm.
√ In Vs :38: we see The Perplexity of the disciples about His Sleep.
√I n Vs 39: we see The Power of our Saviour.
√ In Vs 40: we see The Problem of their Shallowness.
√ IN vs 41, we see their perception of Christ's Sovereignty, Jesus Christ rules the sea, He rules the storm and He rules the sorrows of men.
here we see the deity of Jesus Christ and His sovereignty, as God He controls the winds, He controls the waves and the sea. and today He's telling you that whatever the storms devil is raising against our progress to heaven and against our personal life the Lord is going to bring calm upon them. anything that want to stop your journey half way the Lord will put calm and you will see the manifestation of His Authority, and His Presence and Power will avail for us.

POINT 1: THE PERSONAL PROCLAMATION OF OUR INFALLIBLE CHRIST.
MARK 4:35; 5:1; MATTHEW 24:35; NUMBER 23:19; DEUTERONOMY 18:18; ACTS 3:20-22; ISAIAH 46:6-11; 55:10-11; JEREMIAH 1:12; EZEKIEL 12:25,28; HEBREWS 13:5-6,8; 2 PETER 1:19-21.
What Christ has proclaimed and Declared, there's no devil that can contradict it because He's infallible, the Word of Christ will always be fulfilled, and His proclamation will never be contradicted. If Christ said it, it will come to pass, the sea may roar, the storm may rage, Satan and the society may be furious but His word will still be fulfilled. The word of Christ will prevail in every situation; billow may rise, tempest may rage, will may shout out angrily but all that JESUS Christ has said will be fulfilled. The wind will obey His word the challenges may come but whatever Jesus has said must be fulfilled. Jesus Christ said Him and The Father are one, as the word of the Father is infallible so also the word of Christ is infallible. Jesus Christ has spoken and no storms can reverse it.
Jesus Christ declared to His disciples to pass over unto the other side and the wind and waves couldn't reverse it and so The word of Christ will be fulfilled in our lives, whatever He says the Father put it in His mouth, and that word cannot fail. and when He said let us pass over unto the other side and whatever you see on the way will not stop you, move on to the side of victory as JESUS has decided. The Lord Jesus is declaring the end of the beginning and Satan thought he could stop that, and he raised up the wind but he failed because The word of Jesus Christ is infallible, as his counsel couldn't withstood the Word of Jesus Christ, his counsel shall not stand in our lives. Jesus Christ has chosen us to bear fruit and to make progress we shouldn't allow anything to drive us away from the midst of the sea for the Lord will do what He has purposed. The word of Christ is the greatest thing in our lives and the storms couldn't contradict it, the enemy and the opposition of Satan is not the greatest thing because JESUS Christ is infallible and He will hasten His word in our lives, forget your perplexity, forget the waves because God has spoken already, forget every other thing you see because Satan cannot delay the fulfilment of the word of God in our lives. in time of problems He will never leave us, everything Jesus Christ has said power has seal it in His blood and it cannot be reversed. If all the words of the prophets in Old Testament can be fulfilled, how much Christ Who is Greater than all those Prophets?

POINT 2: HIS PERFECT PEACE IN AN IRRECONCILABLE CRISIS. MARK 4:37; ISAIAH 9:6; JOHN 14:27; ROMANS 14:7; EPHESIANS 2:14-17 PSALMS 119:165; ISAIAH 26:3-4; 48:18; PHILIPPIANS 4:6-9; ROMANS 16:20.
When Christ was sleeping, He slept at the strength of the pillow of His word, and all those storms are test and temptations whether you will give up or not. Jesus Christ slept in the ship because in the Old Testament it was prophesied that they will pierce His hand and His feet and He was going to die on the Cross and not in the sea. He was going to fulfilled His destiny as the prophets said. before JESUS Christ rebuked His disciples, He first of all stopped the storm, because He corrected their shallowness He first of all calm the storms, because Jesus Christ will correct you He will first of all stop your problem IN Jesus Name Amen. The crisis that arose cannot reconciled Christ's purpose and that was why the disciples were perplexed, their prayer was a prayer of anxiety and worrying and Jesus Christ arose and said Peace be still and it was so.
through Christ there's Peace.
There's Present Peace
There's Promise Peace.
There's Priceless Peace
There's Prevailing Peace
There's Perpetual Peace
There's Perfect Peace.
There's Supersede Peace in Christ.
In your heart, in your family and in your community there will be Peace and no more fear in your heart. Jesus Christ is the Saviour who took away all our confusing on the Cross. anything standing on your way the Lord will abolish them in Jesus Name Amen. He has broken the wall of demarcation between us and God, if you are far away from God as gentiles and you repent and believe Jesus God will abolish everything that separates you from God, let not your heart be disturbed the word of Christ supersede every negative news. nothing will disturb your Peace, be anxious for nothing, be disturbed by nothing and be worry about nothing. assuredly without any shadow of doubt when storms rises go to the Lord in prayer like A Son and Daughter, don't go to God like an orphan or in anxiety and don't think about the storm because JESUS Christ is Greater than any problems. His word is infallible and He's willing to Calm the storm of your life.

POINT 3: THE PREVAILING POWER OF OUR IRRESISTIBLE CHRIST.
.
MARK 4:39-41; MATTHEW 28:18; MARK 13:24-26; LUKE 9:43; 4:36; JOHN 14:2; ACT 10:38; HEBREWS 1:3; ROMAN 4:19-21; EPHESIANS 3:20-21.
The Power of Christ is irresistible, The Prophetic Prediction of Christ is irresistible because He's the same Yesterday, Today and forever. Christ is irresistible and you will find Him sufficiency for your life IN Jesus Name Amen.
Jesus has the Power to calm every storms in your life.
Jesus has the Power to give you Perfect Peace.
Jesus has the Power to forgive your past sin.
Jesus has the Power to cleanse and to come convert the soul and to keep us sanctified.
Jesus has the Power to heal.
Jesus has the Power to Grant you Joy
Jesus has the Power to deliver
Jesus has the Power to make you triumphant in all situations.
and because Jesus Power is irresistible your blessings tonight will be irresistible. even the Antichrist is at the highest performance, Christ will come in Great Power and His Power will amaze you when He solve your problems and He will calm the storm in your family IN Jesus Name Amen. He's going to manifest His Power of Salvation, Sanctification and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in your life tonight. as we personalized the word of God we are hearing and you believe that Jesus Christ is Greater than any other names, don't consider the storms and your persecutors because the promise of Christ has come to you. your ship will not sink in the billow of the sea. and in the midst of your storms you will give Glory to God, in the midst of your persecutors you will give Glory to God.
Christ is able to quench the storm
Christ is able to silent your enemies.
Christ is able to save your soul
Christ is able to heal your body.
Christ is able to quietly stop the enemies harassing your life. the Lord is able, peace in your life, peace in your spirit and heart, peace in your community. Christ is able, you cannot perish with Christ present in your life.
from defeat to the side of victory.
from shallowness to the side of His Shore.

TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY September 3rd 2019

AT DEEPER LIFE BIBLE CHURCH EASTVILLE Bristol BS5 6LD

BY, PASTOR W.F. KUMUYI

TOPIC: CHRIST’S PREVAILING POWER AND OUR UNWAVERING FAITH

TEXT: MARK 6:45-56
As we have read the verses, we are seeing some peculiar things that Christ did and said. Actually, He proved Himself to be unique: ~ In power ~ In performance ~ In operation
He did what no one person ever did before Him, and said what other people never said before Him. We must always hold the uniqueness of Christ dear to our hearts.

Nobody Ever Did Any Of These:

* He walked on the sea * He turned water into wine * He dried up the fruitless tree * He calmed the raging and storming sea * He multiplied bread to feed thousands * He healed all that came to Him with a word * He raised the dead with the spoken word * He ruled the sea, the winds, He governs the fish of the sea. When the fishermen did not catch anything after hours of toiling, He told them exactly where to throw their nets to catch a multitude of fish, and they caught a multitude of fishes. He also instructed Peter to catch a fish, retrieve money from its mouth and use it to pay their taxes. This means Christ is distinct, different, doing what no other has ever done
The disciples were on the sea, with the waves contrary to them and they saw Him walking on the sea. They thought it was a spirit but He said that no one has ever said, “It is I, be not afraid!”
He also said,

* “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, but by me”. No one ever said this.
* I am the bread of life, anyone who eats of this bread shall live forever. Nobody ever said this.
* I am the resurrection and life, he that believes in me will never die
* I and my Father are one, He that has seen me has seen the Father

* I will rise on the third day. He prophesied all that will happen to Him and they all came to pass. Exactly the third day. He rose from the dead.
No man ever said what he said, no one ever did what He did. We must always remember that Jesus has the power to do everything. In every aspect of His life, power was associated with Him, from His birth to His death, to all the miracles that He did, to all His encounters with anyone and everyone (Matthew 28:18; Mark 12:24; Luke 4:14) He is our Saviour, Sanctifier, Baptizer in the Holy Ghost. Anytime we mention the name of Jesus, power must accompany it. His name and power, His authority and power, His prayer and power, His salvation and power, His sanctification, baptizing in the Holy Ghost, deeds and doctrines and power (vs 32; John 17:2) All things have been committed to Him by the Father and He has the power to give life to all who come to Him (Acts 10:38) If He lives in your heart, power lives in your heart (I Corinthians 1:24). His name, authority, messages and ministry make power to come unto us, as a result, we must make sure we have the faith to receive (James 1:5-6). If anyone lacks salvation, love, blessing, spiritual gifts, let him ask the Lord in faith, nothing wavering.

1. HIS CONQUERING POWER OVER UNCOMMON TEMPEST. Mark 6:45

We need to understand and remember that everything Jesus says will come to pass. Always hold His words in mind. He said they should go to the other side. He went to pray, telling them He would meet them on the other side, and the disciples got over successfully. Jesus the Son of God has left a perfect example for us. He prayed all the time, so,
* Before and after service, pray * Before and after duty, pray * Before and after any performance, pray.

i. His Personal Prayer. Mark 6:46
He depended so much upon the Father that He prayed all the time. Prayer was His lifeline, the reason and foundation of His constant power (Mark 1:35) And in the morning, rising a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place (where He could pray to the Father without distraction) and there prayed.
Our lives must be filled with prayer. Praying every time, without ceasing, with unwavering faith. A day must never end without us praying to our Heavenly Father Luke 18:1-5. The Lord told this parable to teach us that importunity and constancy in prayer pay (vs 6-7; 21:26) When you are happy when there is a problem, pray. Pray always, daily and without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17) Convert some of the time you waste in talking or doing things that are not profitable to pray, and your life will take on such splendour and beauty as never before.

ii. His Prevailing Power. Mark 6:47
When the wind is contrary, do not look at the wind, but on the face of our Saviour. He will uphold, strengthen and carry you through in Jesus name. Our problem is that we look too much to the wind and contrary circumstances, we look too much at the frowning faces of the opposers. Jesus came at the time when the wind was contrary to the disciples, walking on the sea. The contrary wind could not hinder His destiny and decision. As Jesus walked on the sea, so we will also walk on our stormy sea (Psalm 93:3-4; 104:3) If we will pray, answers and miracles will come.

iii. Our Promised Privilege. Matthew 14:27-
Jesus walked on the storm, you will walk on the storm of life. Whatever storm is raging at this time, we will walk through to the other side. You will ride and make progress through it. When Peter asked if he could come, Jesus told him to come. He did not see it as an affront, so Peter walked on the water (Psalm 107:27-30) From tonight, you are entering into your place of rest.

2. OUR CAUSELESS PANIC AND UNNECESSARY FEAR. Mark 6:49-50

Many times, we get into trouble because of our supposition. Most times, we misread the body language of others we see as opposers. At times, we assume it is the devil or enemies.

The disciples saw Jesus and they were troubled. He was not the cause of their fear but their suppositions (I John 4:18) God loved them perfectly, He loves us too, that was why He sent His Son, the Holy Spirit to us and the word unto us.

Be of good cheer, be not afraid because fear has torment. Psalm 53:5 * There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame because God hath despised them. No root, or cause for the fear, it was a causeless fear, yet people still fear.

II Kings 6:14-16 The servant of Elisha was afraid when he saw the chariots of the king of Syria, but Elisha saw what he could not see. So he prayed that the eyes of the servant will be opened. Then the servant was reassured.
Deuteronomy 2:8-9. God instructed the children of Israel to not disturb the Moabites because He would not give their land unto the Israelites (vs 19) Same unto the land of the Ammonites, they were both descendants of Lot.

But let us see what happened in Numbers 22:3-6. The Moabites were not aware of what God has told the Israelites, to spare them and their lands, so they were sore afraid (vs 4-6) Balak sent for Balaam to curse them, but all his curses were turned to blessings. The children of Moab and Ammon were punished as a result of this (Deuteronomy 23:3-5) This was as a result of what they did to the children of Israel in calling Balaam to curse the people of God. The Lord did not hear him. The curse causeless shall not come. Isaiah 37:6. Do not be afraid of what you see or hear, our God is in control (vs 36) An angel of God came down by night and killed 185,000 soldiers of the enemies, and they were dead corpses in the morning. Why should you be afraid of dead corpses? (vs 38) Thank God we have escaped. Amen.

ch 51:7,12-13. The fury of the oppressor is nowhere to be found (2 Timothy 1:7) Fear is a spirit, and it is not of God. He has given us the spirit of love and a sound mind. I will not be afraid. The devil wants to detach you from the source of power, but no fear will detach you from God in Jesus name. Hebrews 2:14. God has power over the devil. You will no longer be in bondage (13:5-6) The Lord is your helper, you will not fear what man will do unto you. The Lord is your provider, support, and protection. Be not afraid, fear is cancelled out of your life in Jesus name.

3. THE COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE WITH UNWAVERING TRUST. Mark 6:53-56

The disciples got to the other side eventually. Everything the Lord has ordained will happen to you in Jesus name. Every promise the Lord has given you will be fulfilled, every destination in God’s plans for us we will get to in Jesus name. Amen. He has given us a name. He has commanded will happen to us. Wherever He enters, miracles happen. The Lord has entered our church auditorium tonight, He got here before any of us, and He is waiting for us to call upon Him and He will answer us. Wherever He enters, miracles happen. The sick ones only need to touch Him, as many as touched Him were made whole. In your spirit, body, mind, brain, blood system, body and spiritual life, you are made whole. Amen and Amen. Rise up and talk to the Lord, touch Him and be made whole. Declaration Of Faith: I Now Boldly Say: * The Lord is my Helper * The Lord is my Saviour * The Lord is my Sanctifier * The Lord is my Power * The Lord is my Shepherd * The Lord is my Supplier * The Lord is my Support * The Lord is my Helper * I will not fear! * I will not fear!! * I will not fear what neighbours, sinners, man, the economy can do unto me * The Lord is my Helper!

TOPIC: CLEANSING MAN’S HEART FROM ALL DEFILEMENT

TEXT: MARK 7:14-23

* 14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
* 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
* 16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
* 17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
* 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
* 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
* 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
* 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
* 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
* 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

The verses we are looking at today are a continuation of the ones we looked at last week. Remember we looked at the traditions of the elders, how the Pharisees complained that the disciples did not wash their hands before eating. The tradition of the Pharisees is when they came back from outings, they ceremoniously wash their hands before they touch or eat anything. They wash the cups and tables ceremoniously and sanctimoniously but Jesus came to show them them that He came to wash their hearts, and that it is not the outward but inward cleansing that matters.

The disciples came to Jesus because they wanted more clarification on what He said, that is the purpose of today’s lesson. Jesus wanted the disciples to understand all that He was teaching them because there is no point in listening, learning, fulfilling all righteousness and not understanding.

Jesus taught that it it is not those things that a man takes in that defile him but those things which come from his heart. He was saying in essence that the food and all other things we take in do not enter into the heart, but into the stomach, and they will not affect the heart. There are things you take in that goes straight into your brain, which will affect you, but the food you eat will not affect you. Part of the food you eat nourish your body while the useless parts go out of the body as waste products.

The reason why Jesus explained these things to the disciples and to us today is for us to know how to focus on our Christian lives, and having purging, cleansing and total freedom and the washing that is spiritual in our hearts. He does not want us to focus on things that do not profit and making laws that one cannot eat this or that. He wants us to know that all the foods that God gave us are sanctified and set apart to benefit us. They are to nourish our bodies and separate the nutrients from the things that do not nourish the body.

I Timothy 4:1. The Bible tells us that in the latter days, men will take their focus away from the word of God and focus on the tradition of the elders. Some people will come around us like the Pharisees, telling us what to eat and what not to eat, whereas, everything is profitable and good to eat after prayers have been offered on them.

A. CONFIRMING HIS TEACHING TO DEVELOP HIS TRANSFORMED SERVANTS. Mark 7:14,17-19
Jesus was telling the people to listen to Him and understand. He wanted them to throw the traditions away and embrace the pure truths of the word of God. He made them know that whatever a man takes into his stomach does not hinder his fellowship with God, true worship and going to heaven.

The point is, the disciples came to Jesus for clarification on what He said earlier. Jesus told them clearly that they cannot have two masters: Him and the Pharisees, so they had to choose whom to follow. Thank God the disciples chose Jesus, the good, great and perfect Teacher from heaven (Matthew 6:24) Jesus made it clear that the disciples could not mix His own teaching with those of the Pharisees. They have to accept Him as Saviour and Lord and push aside every doctrine of the Pharisees. Everything they want to know, they must learn from Him.

John 8:30-32. The people have been following and have taken the Pharisees as authority in their religion, but now, having believed on Jesus Christ as Lord, and are changed, transformed with life made anew, they must continue in His word and not go back to the tradition and ideologies of religious people. They must no longer be under the yoke of the traditionalists because they are free and free indeed (vs 36).

The disciples came to Jesus so that they can be sure and understand His teachings better. If you hear something and you do not understand, it is as good as you do not know it: truths about the kingdom and how to get there are things we must always seek to know more about. We see that the disciples have the zeal to know better, and Jesus usually answered them well.

Matthew 13:36-43. It is not everyone who attends the church that are born again. As seen in the parable of the wheat and tares, God allows them to continue together with the believers until the end of the world when they will be separated.

Mark 10:1-12. This is on the issue of divorce. The Pharisees came to ask Jesus if it was lawful for a man to divorce his wife. The disciples came again to know more about this issue. Jesus answered and told them that any man who sends away his wife and marries another has committed adultery, and vice versa.

John 3:7-10. Nicodemus heard about being born again from Christ but he needed to understand better so he asked questions. Jesus wondered how Nicodemus, being a ruler of the synagogue would not know about the issue of salvation. He now brought the analogy of the brazen serpent which Moses lifted up in the wilderness for the healing of the people. Today, anyone who looks on and believe on the Lord Jesus will not perish (vs 14-16).

Anytime we hear the word of God and do not understand, we must ensure we ask questions, read it again and pray about it so that we will know and have everlasting life (Acts 8:30-39) Philip caught up with the Ethiopian eunuch in his chariot and found him reading the scriptures. He asked him if he understood what he was reading, and began to explain to him after honouring the invitation of sitting with him in the chariot. Philip preached Jesus to him, he believed and was baptized. Faith came with perfect understanding of the word. Salvation also came into his life with its resultant joy.

B. CLARIFYING THE TRANSGRESSIONS THAT DEFILE TRESPASSING SOULS. Mark 7:20-23
Sin comes from within, starting with thoughts of the heart, then planning and ultimately, execution. The Lord clarified it for them, but if the Pharisees had been reading the scriptures, they would have known the truth about sin.

Psalm 106:35,39-40. The Israelites mingled with the heathen and idolatrous nations around them and learned their ways and works. Thus they were defiled and the wrath of God kindled against them.

Isaiah 59:3.
* For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
All these iniquities brought defilement to the people, just as Christ spoke.

Ezekiel 28:12-18a. Here God was talking to Lucifer, the devil through His prophet. Lucifer was perfect both in beauty and character until iniquity was found in him. He was proud because of his beauty, he defiled the sanctuary with his iniquity and was cast out. That was what Jesus was saying, that it is not what we eat that defiles us but what comes out of us. Pride came out of Lucifer and defiled him.

What are the things that defile and disqualify man from heaven? (Romans 1:28-32) Their minds were defiled so they began to do things that were not convenient, sinful things such as: fornication, wickedness, maliciousness, full of envy, debate, malignity, whisperers, backbiters, haters of God and men, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without natural affection, etc. all that do these things are worthy of death. Not only those who do them are guilty but as many as have pleasure in those that do them.

I Corinthians 6:9-10. Unrighteousness including fornication, adultery, idol worship, homosexuality, stealing, covetousness etc hinder sinners from entering the kingdom of God. Every man on earth needs cleansing, washing, purifying by the the blood of the Lamb (vs 11). I pray that the cleansing which Jesus has done will work for everyone as they appropriate it into their lives in Jesus name.

Sin, transgressions and iniquity bring defilement. Those who remain in it, and refuse to avail themselves of the atoning work, if they die in that condition will not get to heaven (Galatians 5:19-21) Sin defiles across all fronts, regardless of tribe, creed and race (Jude vs 8,13-16) Murmurings, evil speaking, backbiting, etc defile the soul. May the Lord cleanse, purify and take away the defilement from you in Jesus name.

What if there is no cleansing despite series of messages of the word of God? Hell fire is the destination of people in such situation (Revelation 21:8,27) When we get cleansed, we ensure we do not go back into the abominations in order to avoid the danger of hell. The question comes to you, is your name in the Lamb’s book of life? (ch 22:14-17). Only those who have their names in the book of life are qualified for heaven.

C. CLEANSING FOR TRANSFORMATION TO DECLARE TRUE SALVATION Psalm 51:2,5,7,10,12,13
Here was King David praying for cleansing and forgiveness after he committed the sins of adultery and murder. These were genuine prayers from a truly contrite heart (ch 19:12-14; 119:9-11) Preaching the word of God is not enough, keeping them in the heart as preachers, learners and hearers is much more important.

Isaiah 1:18; Jeremiah 33:8; Ezekiel 36:25-26,36b) Here is God Almighty assuring us that it is His duty to wash and cleanse us, and that He will make us as clean as we ought to be.
vs 37. We must ask the Lord in prayer before we receive the promise (II Corinthians 7:1) We must be willing to be cleansed.

Ephesians 5:25-27. We could not do the cleansing by ourselves, Christ will do it for us.
Titus 2:11-14
* 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
* 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
* 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
* 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Christ gave Himself for us in order to redeem us from all iniquity

Hebrews 10:22-23. The Lord is faithful, He will keep all His promises which He has made to cleanse us.

Revelation 7:9-1
* 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
* 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
* 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
* 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
* 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
* 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
* 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
* 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
* 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

After He has washed away our sins, He will also wipe away our tears. Getting to heaven is only on the basis of our sins totally washed away (Revelation 19:6-9,14) God is looking at every heart, and He wants them all to be cleansed. Come to the Lord today for cleansing because He promised that whosoever calls on Him will receive answers.

Prayer:
* Pray that you will not hear or learn the word in vain
* Pray that you will retain the knowledge of the word of God in you which will qualify you heaven
* Pray for our Pastor, that his efforts over us will not be in vain, and that he himself will make heaven at the end.

Amen and Amen.
