SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY MARCH 3, 2019 GOD IS NEVER LATE TEXT: JOHN 11:39-44 "Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?" (John 11:40). God is timely and never late in attending to the needs of His people. Sometimes, it appears there is delay in meeting a need in your life, God can never fail, He will come unto you at the right time. A Children teacher while on duty for God misplaced his car key. He searched everywhere for it without success. Although he was a bit troubled, he did not allow the incident to affect the work he was doing for God. On the last day of the assignment, he called some children to join hands with him to pray over the lost key. After the prayer, he believed God. Meanwhile, some concerned brethren had arranged with an auto electrician from the nearby village to break his car lock. While the auto electrician was about breaking the car lock, the Children teacher was led by the Spirit of God to put his hand into a bag he had earlier turned upside down in search of the key. Behold! The key was in the bag. He jumped up for joy and began to praise God. He quickly went to the car to stop the lock from being damaged. If you have been praying for something and there is a delay in receiving the answer, never give up, just wait and be not troubled. Jesus will arrive at the appropriate time. Just as He was not late to raise Lazarus from death, He will also do it for you. • PRAYER: God, help me to trust and wait patiently on You for my miracle. • FURTHER READING: Psalm 37:23-25 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE THURSDAY MARCH 7,2019 SAY THE TRUTH TEXT: ACTS 5:1-11 "Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God" (Acts 5:4). Why do people tell lies? It is because of fear of being punished; fear of losing a benefit or because of shame. Our Bible passage tells us the fearful story of Ananias and Sapphira. They lied by saying that the money they gave to the Apostles for the work of God was all the money from the sale of their land. Since the money belongs to them, they could have just said that it was part of the money they brought, but they lied and said that it was all. God takes lying very seriously. God is a God of truth. Lying is contrary to His nature, it is the nature of Satan, our enemy. It is far better to say the truth and face the punishment than to lie and lose our peace with God and the trust that our parents or friends have in us. When we lie we enter into trouble with God. So, make it your choice today and every day, to always tell the truth, no matter the situation. It is an honourable choice. Decide that from this moment, there will be no more lies and no more pretences. Always speak the truth and let Satan be put to shame. A sinner will only struggle to say the truth. The way out is to surrender your life to Jesus so that He can save you from sin and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. • PRAYER: Lord, I pray that you will help me to always speak the truth no matter the situation I find myself. • FURTHER READING: Psalm 15:1-5 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY MARCH 8, 2019 ACTIONS OF FAITH TEXT: JAMES 2:14-20 "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" (James 2:20). Faith is simply trusting God that He will do what He promised to do. Faith is the attitude of believing the promises of God. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. It is good to say that we believe God but putting it into action is more beneficial. We cannot say we have faith in God if we don't show it in our lives and in how we relate with other people. When we see a need, we should meet that need by providing for the person if we are in a position to do so. As God blesses us, we, in turn, should bless others. Freely we have received, so freely we should give. Faith and actions work together. There is a saying that goes thus 'action speaks louder than words'. This is so true. We can speak all the right words, but it means nothing if we do not back it up with actions. We should be willing to use our resources, talents and time to help others in need of help. We should not neglect to show mercy and compassion to the people in need. We can also pray for the sick and people in difficult situations. All these and more are actions or works of faith. • PRAYER: Help me Lord, to show my faith in everything I do. • FURTHER READING: 1 John 3:16-18 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY MARCH 9, 2019 DOES GOD HEAR? TEXT: EXODUS 6:1-7 "And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant" (Exodus 6:5). Does God hear? Yes indeed, God does hear. God called Moses to go to Pharaoh to let His people go. He heard the groaning of the Israelites. It was now time to act and deliver them out of the hands of their enemies, the Egyptians. More often than not God does not come to our aid immediately we want Him. Sometimes He seems to delay in giving answer to our prayers. This is not that God has not heard when we prayed. He may just be testing our faith or developing in us the virtue of patience and trust in Him no matter how bad it gets. God will always come through in the end, if we do not give up. But just like the Israelites in the land of Egypt, we often do not recognize or hear God speak to us because of our deep anguish. It took a while for Pharaoh to let God's people go, but he did in the end. We need to be patient, persistent and not give up. God hears our cry for help. He hears every prayer we pray. He knows all that we are passing through. So keep on praying, trusting and know that God hears and cares. • PRAYER: Please God, help me to trust you always and to know that You care. • FURTHER READING: Psalm 18:1-6 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY MARCH 10, 2019 GROWING IN CHRIST TEXT: LUKE 2:48-52 "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man" (Luke 2:52). Growth is an important characteristic of every living thing. Growth is also required in all aspects of life; physical, academic and spiritual. Bimpe was the only child of her parents for many years. She was not happy with the situation, so she prayed to God. When she was 15 years old, her parents had a boy named Favour. The joy in the family knew no bounds when he was born. But something happened, Favour was not growing. When he was two years old, he had not started sitting, talking or walking. The whole family including Bimpe became sad. They prayed in faith and God intervened and the boy started to grow and became a strong and healthy child. When Jesus was a baby, He grew and increased in wisdom and stature. Even at the age of 12, He was beyond His years. They were all amazed and marvelled at Jesus' understanding of the things of God. We too need to grow into Jesus' likeness. The ingredients for our spiritual growth include regular study of the word of God, prayer, attending fellowship regularly and preaching the gospel. The Bible commands "But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ..." (2 Peter 3:18a). We should have a daily relationship with God, we need to spend time with Him to get to know Him; and by getting to know God, we get closer to Him, engage in His work and grow as Christians. We should grow in grace, wisdom, love, patience and other Christian virtues. • PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me to grow each day in Your likeness more and more. • FURTHER READING: Ephesians 4:12-16 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY MARCH 11 ,2019 RECOGNISING THE ENEMY IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE TEXT: 1 PETER 5:8-11 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Every believer is fighting a battle. What battle? It is the battle to overcome every challenge on our way to heaven. But there is an arch enemy fighting against the Christian. Yes, we need to be aware of the enemy. We need to recognise him when he shows up. You will find that the closer you get to God, the more Satan comes against you. But you need not fear this. For God said, "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world." This means that Christ in you is greater than Satan, who is in the world. Satan roams around and is likened to a roaring lion. We need to be on guard at all times and be aware that he does exist and will come against us. We can withstand him by standing firm in our faith in Christ. Don't give in to his lies. Read and meditate on the word of God regularly. Pray for discernment by the Spirit, so you will recognise straight away if something is of God or not; evil may appear as good or righteous. A sinner should repent of all sins and accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Believers should always abide in Christ and trust Him for sustaining grace. • PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to recognise the devil and overcome his tricks. • FURTHER READING: Ephesians 6:10-13 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE WEDNESDAY MARCH 13, 2019 I KNOW WHO I AM TEXT: 1 PETER 2:9-11 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light" (1 Peter 2:9). It is important every believer irrespective of age, colour, educational level and social status know who he or she is in the Lord. Knowing who we are in Christ gives us the courage and boldness to live victoriously and get to heaven at last. A popular song goes thus, "We are the chosen generation, come forth to show His excellence. All I require for life, God has given me and I know who I am." There are many Bible passages that tell us what God thinks of us, and what He can do in and through us. He sees you as a person with worth, a person who will go far in life and accomplish much for Him. He has a plan and a purpose for your life. If you are born again, you are a child of God, heir of God through Jesus Christ. Children of God are the chosen generation, holy and peculiar people. We are saved to show forth the glory of God as we journey to the heavenly city. The remembrance of who you are in Christ should always move you to live a holy life, offer praises to God, serve Him with your whole heart, be separate from worldly affairs, perform good deeds, share the love of Jesus with others, pray for all people and present your body as an instrument of righteousness. • PRAYER: God, help me to discover who I am in Christ Jesus. • FURTHER READING: Galatians 4:4-7 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE THURSDAY MARCH 14, 2019 Giving God Your Isaac TEXT: Genesis 22:15-18 "And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son" (Genesis 22:16). Many children bear the name Isaac but do not know its meaning or the story behind that name. Isaac means laughter. The first person to be given that name in the Bible was the special covenant son of Abraham. Abraham and Sarah his wife had waited for about twenty-five years before having Isaac. You can understand why he was a special child. Not minding this, God requested that Abraham give Him (God) this special son as a sacrifice of faith. It was a very hard and difficult request, but Abraham made up his mind to give up his Isaac to God. He believed that the giver of the gift is greater than the gift. The way to receive the best from God is to give Him the best. You may never be asked to give your "son" because God has given us His beloved Son. But whatever you value so much is your "Isaac." We should be willing to give anything and everything we have to God. We should know that God is the Giver of all things and we should not value the gift of God above God Himself. All that we have - wisdom, gifts and talents, time, energy, education, are all from God. Surrender all to your Creator. Children of God are also required to give God thanks and love Him, and do the things that please Him. • PRAYER: God, You own me and all that I have. I surrender all to You. • FURTHER READING: 1 Samuel 1:24-28 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY MARCH 16, 2019 JESUS ON BOARD TEXT: MARK 4:35-39 "And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm" (Mark 4:39). Jane is a friend of Jesus. She loves Jesus and preaches the gospel anywhere she finds herself. She also uses her good voice to sing for Jesus. One day, Jane boarded a commuter bus in the company of others to go to a village where she was assigned to sing in an open air crusade. As they were going in the journey, Jane preached the gospel to others in the bus. Suddenly, they heard a loud noise. Behold one of the tyres of the bus busted and the vehicle started somersaulting! While the rest of the passengers were crying and screaming in fear, Jane calmly told them, "Fear not for I know my Lord Jesus is on board." To the glory of God and great amazement of all the people, the bus stopped and became stable. Many of the people surrendered their lives to Jesus immediately. It is good for believers to know that Jesus is on board in our life boat. Yes, the storms will come in our lives as believers. But we are to remember that Jesus is always near to help and deliver us. If only you will cry to Him like the disciples did, Jesus will stretch out His hand and say peace be still and the storms will subside. If you are a sinner, repent now and let Jesus come on board in your life. • PRAYER: Oh Lord! Help me to always trust You whenever I am faced with the storms of life. • FURTHER READING: Luke 8:22-25 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY MARCH 17, 2019 THE FOURTH PERSON IN THE FIRE TEXT: Daniel 3:21-25 "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God" (Daniel 3:25). Fire signifies danger, trouble, difficulties, trials, temptation and problems that may come the way of friends of Jesus. There will always be one challenge or the other that will come the way of believers. Yet these challenges will not consume you, if you have faith in God. The three Hebrew boys were even thrown into physical fire. They were not afraid because they trusted the Lord to save them. God chose not to quench the fire but went to meet them in the fire. The presence of the Lord in the fire rendered the flame ineffective and powerless. It could not harm or burn the three believers but only burnt the property of Nebuchadnezzar that was used to bind them. Jesus Christ the Son of God is the fourth person in the fire. He has promised that He will never leave nor forsake His own. Do you belong to God? Then you have nothing to fear. Whatever or whosoever is threatening you, tell them that Jesus is with you. It could be a bully in your class or neighbourhood, it could also be failure, bad dreams, sickness, affliction, confusion in the family, financial problem, whatever it may be, pray and trust Him. Jesus is with you to deliver and set you free. • PRAYER: Lord, help me to always trust and depend on You in time of difficulties. • FURTHER READING: Isaiah 43:1-3 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY MARCH 18, 2019 GOD'S EPISTLE TO ALL MEN TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 3:1-4 "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men" (2 Corinthians 3:2). Believers are referred to as the letter or epistle to all men. Through the believer, God sends the message of His love, power to save from sin and make righteous, to those who have not experienced salvation. As beneficiaries of God's grace, we are to live gracious lives that will draw sinners to Jesus. It has been found out that a believer's lifestyle has greater power to win sinners to Jesus Christ, even more than his or her preaching. God is depending on us to live according to His word such that the unsaved boys and girls can read the Bible through us. After preaching the gospel, we should allow our lives preach the good news of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. Unbelievers should be able to read the Bible through the truthful and blameless life you live among them. Jesus Christ is not physically here on earth but His friends are little Christs in the world. The early disciples were first called Christians in Antioch because of the nature and life of Christ people saw in them. We are the light in the midst of darkness in the world. We are to live for Jesus and never be conformed to this world. A sinner cannot live for Jesus except he or she repent of all sins and come to God for forgiveness and cleansing by the blood of Jesus. • PRAYER: Lord, help me to live a life that glorifies and win sinners to You. • FURTHER READING: Matthew 5:13-16 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE THURSDAY MARCH 21, 2019 PEER PRESSURE TEXT: Proverbs 1:10-15 "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not" (Proverbs 1:10). Peer pressure is the direct influence on people, especially children by the people of same age bracket or friends in schools. Peer pressure is widely recognized as a major contributor to drug use, smoking, cultism and immoral behaviours particularly in adolescent. Peer pressure has moved from the common face to face interaction to digital interaction through the Internet, where children learn all kinds of evil practices. There is a popular saying "others may, I will not". This must be your principle as a true friend of Jesus. God is warning us not to allow peer pressure take away His love from our heart. Some children give in to peer pressure because they want to be accepted or fit in, or because they worry that others might make fun of them if they don't go along with their ways. Although it may be tough to be the only one who says "no" to peer pressure, but you can do it. Make up your mind always to do God's will and allow the Spirit of God to guide and help you to stand firm whenever pressure from peer comes your way. • PRAYER: Lord, help me stand on Your word and refuse the pressure to disobey You. • FURTHER READING: Deuteronomy 18:9-14 83 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FRIDAY MARCH 22, 2019 PUTTING ON GOD'S ARMOUR TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:10-18 "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Ephesians 6:11). Believers are fighting a lifetime battle. What are we fighting against? What do we need for protection? We are not fighting people, but Satan and his agents. The battle is so fierce that physical weapons cannot take us anywhere. The protection we need is the armour of God. What is the armour of God and how can we clothe ourselves with it? Let's look at each piece: Belt of Truth - Standing firm in the truth and living our lives by the truth of God's word. Breastplate of Righteousness - Walking uprightly and holily before God. Gospel of Peace - Being occupied in the preaching of the gospel. Shield of Faith - Standing firm in our faith. This will squash all the fiery darts of Satan. Helmet of Salvation - Protection for our minds. Satan attacks us here more than anywhere. We need to be sure of our salvation and not waver or doubt. All these pieces are defensive weapons for protecting us and need to be put on daily. The Sword of the Spirit - (the word of God) is our offensive weapon. We cannot fight the enemy if we don't know the word of God. The way we use the sword of the Spirit will determine how effective the rest of the armour is. The key here is to learn God's word. Hide it in your heart. Then you can put on God's armour and be able to stand firm. • PRAYER: Lord, help me to rely on Your resources to overcome Satan and his agents. • FURTHER READING: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY MARCH 23, 2019 THE BOY WHO GAVE HIS LUNCH TEXT: JOHN 6:8-13 "There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?" (John 6:9). This story in the Bible passage is so amazing. It is about an innocent little boy's generosity in offering his lunch consisting of five small loaves of bread and two fishes. Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw the crowd that came to hear Him and requested that they be fed. In the innocence of a child, the young boy had the same compassion on the people as Jesus and gave what he had to help others. Some other people could have hidden the lunch or even refuse to let go of it, but not this little boy. The lunch may be too little to feed the crowd, but it was more than enough in the hands of Jesus. We should give God the little we have because He will multiply it. We can never have too little that God would not be able to use. He wants us to take what we have and be faithful in using it for Him. He will take care of the rest and bring increase into our lives more than we can ever imagine. Whatever gifts or abilities you have, commit it to God and ask Him to show you where and how you can be used. Do you have talents? God has given them to you for a reason. Trust God to bring the increase as you use them for His glory. • PRAYER: Lord, help me to give my heart and all that I have to You willingly and cheerfully. • FURTHER READING: Luke 21:1-4 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SUNDAY MARCH 24, 2019 LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). We read in our Bible passage how we must have the same attitude of humility as Jesus Christ did. He is our perfect example. We should always think of other people rather than ourselves only. We should not have a selfish attitude - only thinking of ourselves and wanting to do everything our way. That kind of thought is not fair on others. Always put others first. We all can have different ideas, and by putting these ideas together, we can accomplish great things. That's working together. We should not be proud or arrogant because of a talent, ability or parents' riches. We should not look down on other people because we are better than them in some areas, but we should appreciate everybody. Remember that all that you have are given to you by God. Let's shun all forms of arrogance and pride and be humble like our Saviour and Master Jesus Christ. The scriptures say, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3). • PRAYER: Help me LORD to humble myself and respect others. • FURTHER READING: Romans 12:10, 16 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE MONDAY MARCH 25, 2019 COME BACK HOME TEXT: LUKE 15:17-22 "And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him" (Luke 15:20). The prodigal son thought he had arrived and was wise. One day he went to his father to ask for his inheritance. He wants to enjoy the things he did not labour for. Surprisingly the father granted him his request. Inheritance is meant to be shared after the death of the owner. Yet the father of the prodigal son divided his properties and gave half to the son. This son left home with his portion and went to a far country. He wanted freedom and a good life. Not quite long, he finished all that he had and became a beggar. He was a foolish and wasteful child. Some children sometimes wander away from the loving care of their parents. They get carried away by the influence of bad friends and worldly things. Many things are responsible for turning the heart of children away from the right path. Such include: worldly amusements and pleasures, games, social media, peer group and others. Do you now prefer games and other unprofitable activities to attending fellowship? If yes, you will end up losing your relationship with Jesus and His blessings. Jesus is waiting and gently calling you to come back home. In Him you find salvation and everlasting rest. • PRAYER: Dear Lord, hold me so that I will not wander away from Your presence. • FURTHER READING: Isaiah 55:6, 7 See more here: |

SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE TUESDAY MARCH 26, 2019 RIGHT ATTITUDE IN TIME OF HARDSHIP TEXT: 2 Corinthians 11:24-30 "If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities" (2 Corinthians 11:30). A Christian family wanted to relocate from their home country to another country because of some uncomfortable situation. They sold out most of their belongings in preparation for the journey. All the members of the family were expectant. They got all their travelling documents and were fully ready for the journey. At that time the only means of transportation was through the sea. Few days to the time that they should board the ship, one of the children fell sick with high fever. They called in the doctor to treat the child, yet he could not recover before the ship departed from the shore. The father of the child became sad, he prayed and asked God why He has disappointed them. He could not understand why God let them down at the hour of their need. Few weeks after the ship left, it encountered serious storms at sea and sunk with all the people on board. When the news reached the Christian family, they were dumbfounded. They then realised that God had allowed that child to be sick in order to deliver the whole family from perishing. Whatever situation or challenges come our way, as children of God, we must always seek for God's glory and honour in all situations. Are you hurt or disappointed? Seek God in prayers, He will give you peace. • PRAYER: Lord, help me to develop a positive attitude that honours You in times of troubles and trials. • FURTHER READING: James 1:2-4 See more HERE: |
