@POLITICSNIGERIA.COM The clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN) also known as Shiites and officers of the Nigerian Police Force earlier today claimed the life of a high-ranking police officer. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of operations, FCT Command, Umar Usman was killed by the protesters as he tried to prevent them from destroying property at the axis of the Federal Secretariat and the three arms zone. Security has since been beefed up at the Force headquarters to prevent reprisal attacks over the arrest of scores of the protesters who are demanding the release of the group's leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzakky.
