IPOB Is A Cancerous Disease By Ugonna Utulor

The leadership of IPOB has failed to convince any sensible Igbo that they know what they are doing. They response is at best watery and at worst paints the picture of delinquents unable to tame their followers.

Perhaps, this is to be expected. Being that their illogical leader is raising miscreants in his own image. I have written long ago that Nnamdi Kanu is an enemy of Ndigbo. With proof, I explained how Nnamdi KANU entered a pact with the Buhari administration, how he escaped the country with aid from the federal government and how they have sponsored him ever since.

Nnamdi Kanu was in Harumberg on August 9 ahead of the Iri ji Ndigbo in Germany and expressly instructed his followers to attack Senator Ike Ekweremadu and Chief Nnia Nwodo, president of Ohaneze worldwide. Chief Nnia later did come and only Senator Ekweremadu suffered the disgrace.

A true Igbo son cannot naked an elder in the village square. This is aru, an abomination that can only be atoned for with huge sacrifices. But here are these IPOB youths committing atrocities and promising to do more.

IPOB has had to come up with flimsy excuses for their discordant behaviour. Thy have explained, incoherently, how Ekweremadu's attire provoked them to attack. Why should he replace his isi agu with coat of arm ndi zoo? They ask. But I in turn have questions for IPOB.

Is Ike Ekweremadu not a Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria? Was he not invited to Germany on account of his position as a Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria? Is Igbo land no longer part of Nigeria?

If members of IPOB think they can do more than him they should come home and contest elections. Efulefus that have not contributed anything to the betterment of our people. Is it even commonsensical to have Nigerian passport in your back pocket and claim not to be a Nigerian? This is the mental problem I'm talking about.

And in confirmation IPOB and supporters have come out to explain in great length how they are frustrated in foreign lands. They say our leaders chased them to foreign lands and with their degrees they are now mere cleaners, mere gatemen working many jobs to eke a living. IPOB has become populated by cancerous nonentities who are unable to make something of their lives.

But why has IPOB endorses mediocrity? There are people making it right here in Nigeria. Why remain in a foreign country after your Visa has expired? Our people blame everybody for their woes but never themselves. Individuals are building other countries, employing millions of others. Certain individuals are also building Nigeria, employing millions. But these miscreants, some of whom their family land was sold to send abroad, will rather disgrace their ancestors than be useful to themselves. Nigeria had failed you. But you have also failed yourself.

Finally, IPOB is threatening to mete the Ekweremadu treatment on other Igbo leaders. Governors have been marked. Senators. Sociopolitical leaders. A layman whose forte is simplicity of reasoning will jubilate. These simpletons will encourage violence just to make a point.

But IPOB fails to understand something. An Okro plant can never be taller than the person that planted it. If it gets too tall it is bent so low even a child can pick up the fruit.

People will cry at the end of the day but it won't be our leaders. Our leaders have the money to get local security in any country they get to. In fact, because of what happened, diplomatic rapporteur will start to ensure Nigerian leaders are adequately secured once in foreign land.

IPOB, had intellectuals been involved, would know they need people like Ekweremadu more than Ekweremadu needs them. They don't know that before there will be any form of referendum there's going to first be a constitutional amendment. They don't know that if Nigeria will split, it must not be through war. They don't want to consider the damages of war, the loss of property and lives. They don't care about their brothers who have investment in other parts of the country who will lose everything on the eventuality of civil war.

And if IPOB doesn't want war what's they strategy for seceding? Why is it IPOB doesn't believe in dialogue and intellectual engagement? On social media they are uncouth, in real life they are violent. Is this a pointer that the utopian Biafra being promised will be led by lily-livered violent men that do not entertain dissenting views? There's a problem somewhere.

IPOB has become a cancer to our people because they have been hijacked by enemies of Ndigbo, opponents of Igbo presidency, thwarters of Igbo progress and supporters of Igbo marginalization and subjugation. These people pay Nnamdi Kanu millions with express request to disgrace our leaders and eliminate them from national relevance.

And you know something about cancer? Once a part of the body develops cancer that part must be cut off.

Ugonna Utulor's uncle fought in the Biafran war.
