blacklion: Good to hear that. Questions are meant to be responded to, you know? |
Re: Android, Anyone? by belushi7: 9:56pm On May 25, 2011 |
texazzpete: Texazzpete, i dont think this site will be of much help to people if everyone goes this harsh for questions asked (no matter how low they sound). You need to chill a bit. If you think you can help blacklion go ahead and answer his questions. If you know of a site where his questions are better answered just go ahead and offer. Dont come hard on questions you deem stupid. Their answers may be of help to a lot more than just the person asking. I am meeting up with someone on this thread to help fix is sgs that almost got bricked. I didnt know jack initially, but with people attending to my enquiries on several blogs/sites i am pretty good with handling androids and winmos today. I have learned one or two things on nairalad and i am sure you too. Allow others. |

belushi7: My initial response wasn't really harsh. All i did was wonder aloud why you'd throw such a question in the Nairaland whitespace when you'd get a more definitive answer from reading detailed reviews. Your situation is completely different. He DID call me a troll, you know. |
Re: Android, Anyone? by DoubleN(m): 9:51pm On May 26, 2011 |

Microsoft's lucrative new revenue stream? Android! The irony's enough to make your head explode: Microsoft makes more money from Android than it does Windows Phone. This according to Citi analyst Walter Pritchard, who says $5 from the purchase price of every HTC Android handset sold ends up in Microsoft's pockets. Evidently, the terms of the patent licensing deal Microsoft negotiated with HTC over its Android offerings last April included some very lucrative royalties. Which isn't all that surprising. At the time Microsoft went after HTC, sources close to the company claimed the handset vendor's infringement of its IP was very broad, ranging from the user interface to the guts of the OS itself. Over at Asymco, Horace Dediu figures HTC has shipped roughly 30 million Android handsets, which works out to about $150 million in Android revenues for Microsoft Interestingly, HTC may have gotten off easy. Pritchard says Microsoft is looking for even higher royalties from the other Android handset manufacturers it's pursuing. "Our understanding is that Microsoft is looking for a $7.50 to $12.50 per unit license to settle alleged infringement of Microsoft patents," he writes |

Another good App in the market is lost phones, by gadgetsprojects.com . Once all is set, and your device has a sim swap, it sends you an alert, with the mobile number of the swapped sim , how cool is that ? @ least u might be able to offer the thief a token, if he or she returns your phone !!! |
Re: Android, Anyone? by ziccoit: 7:01am On May 29, 2011 |
^^^^^^^^^^^ What of if the thief knew about this application and uninstalled before he swapped the sims . Keep ya fone o. |
Re: Android, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 7:46am On May 29, 2011 |
@ ziccoit - The onus is on you to install the app, before the thief gets hold of your phone !!!!! Wake up ! |

Visualized: Samsung wants to see the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 Samsung lawyers recently asked the court to make Apple show them the as-yet-unannounced iPhone 5 and iPad 3, claiming that they need to know what Apple's products will look like ahead of time to avoid future lawsuits and uncanny similarities.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Attack is the best form of defense. Thump up Samsung. Lexusgs430: Oga try to understand. If I stole your fone and I was really good at it. I would just browse through your applications and uninstall the culprit before I insert my sims. Do you now understand? |
Re: Android, Anyone? by Lexusgs430: 11:00pm On May 29, 2011 |
@ zicoit - To uninstall this application, you need to insert the password, do you now understand ? |

Re: Android, Anyone? by na2day(m): 1:11am On May 30, 2011 |
^ ^ ^ ? What is difficult there? if i steal ur phone and its an android, d first thing i will do is to buy a sim, i'll throw away later, wipe d phone and install a custom rom, ur passworded app is bye bye D only foolproof anti-theft is if d app has a NAND MODIFICATION POWER! i.e. even if i wipe and reinstall d OS, d nand will also reinstall d spyware |

na2day!:That's virtually your only bet sef!. Is it just me that feels that the Andriod Experience on tablets has not been fully optimized? Especially on 2.2 (Froyo). Just hope El goog gets it spot on with Honeycomb 3.1. For now,if i am going into the market for a tablet, the ipad would be it. |
Re: Android, Anyone? by ziccoit: 9:09am On May 30, 2011 |
Lexusgs430: This guy, you de try me o. Is that the only way to uninstall an application? By supplying the password alone? What of if I reset the goddamn fone to manufacturer state? What of if I cracked the goddamn password of yours. I 100% knew what I put forth. Do you understand? |
Re: Android, Anyone? by ziccoit: 9:53am On May 30, 2011 |
na2day!: Thank you oga, saw this very late. You alone can provide the best form of security. |
Re: Android, Anyone? by texazzpete(m): 10:21am On May 30, 2011 |
