The emir of Kano, Mr Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been dethroned by the Kano state government on Monday the 9th of March, 2020. This was contained in an official press release by Kano state executive council under the chairmanship of the Executive Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. The statement accused the former Banker and Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria of various acts of insubordination to the Government and people of Kano state. Governor Ganduje has had a long standing feud with the Emir based on political views and differences.
