This is not feasible at the moment in a country like Nigeria where contracts for infrastructure is a honey pot for politicians and the cronies.

Who is this writer?

God go bless you

It's not money that's the problem in most developmental challenges, it is capable human capital. And nigeria is grossly underutilizing its graduates. They can comfortably build roads, houses, bridges, modern farms, hospitals and assemble electronics via DIY programs. China, India and even the United States have harnessed their population.

B3ACHFRONT:
Why do you think it's not feasible? I'm not proposing work for free, all I'm suggesting is a method of reduced infrastructural expenditure.
I like what cross river governor did a few weeks ago when he asked all skilled professionals and laborers to write their names and skills on a paper ; though i'm not sure how that panned out.
I think most African societies should use that approach rather than paying China billions of dollars and sinking into debt.

how where the pyramids and other great ancient structures and societies built? there was no oil revenue . they simply organized everyone and got the job accomplished. people were guaranteed housing and food . while the engineers where building the roads and houses, the farmers where growing food to feed the society for free ,and the teachers were teaching their kids for free ,etc . and these all balanced out .
The reduced expenditure is the problem, your suggestion is commendable but corruption won't allow our leaders buy into that.

Might I ask if you have completed the NYSC.
If you haven't, it's understandable why you do not see the reality of things.

Some things are just sweet on paper

He is right, our politicians will not allow that to happen.I was thinking the exact thing some days ago.....why not buy tractors, tippers and set up an independent head's who will be supervising the corners.Lets reduce over dependence on foreign expertrates and their companies who eat the bulk of the money.

80% corpers know next to nothing regarding their course of study.. Most will blame it on jamb....

When I served. I was economist teaching physics in my PPA.. Because all the engineering graduate ran away from teaching physics: claiming its too difficult ND hence don't want to disgrace themselves... Lol... No one in the 4 batches around my period taught physics... Yet I wasn't even paid state allawee. Till date

That's the real naija for you

God bless you.
I really commend your immense critical thinking. China government use their country funds train Artisan, Cradtman,Technologist and Engineer why not Nigeria can do the same in other to develop our infrastructure development and save cost but our leaders were kleptomaniac in the sense that they will inflate the FIGURES to siphon it to their own pocket.God bless nigeria and Federal republic of Nigeria.
