Gov El-Rufai Claps Back at Twitter Troll For Doubting Son’s Enrollment in Public School Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has said that his son, Abubakar El-Rufai is still schooling at a public school in the state. The governor made the clarification on Thursday on his verified Twitter handle when a user identified as @sarmerdk2 sought to know if his son was still schooling at a public school and his current grade. El-Rufai last year enrolled his child in a government school as a show of commitment to revamp public schools in the state. Replying to the inquiry, the governor said, “THANKS! - Abubakar S. El-Rufai is doing well, & was enjoying his schooling until the coronavirus virus shut-down in March. He was promoted to Class 2 just before closure of our public schools. Thank you@sarmerdk2 for the concern.” African News Today reported that primary and secondary schools in Kaduna State reopened on October 19, 2020 after the COVID-19 induced shutdown. The permission to reopen gradually was granted to pupils in Primary 6 while those in lower classes are yet to resume. If not for El Rufai's religious intolerance and vulgar statements, he's one of the few brightest reformers the north has. We can't forget what he did in Abuja, though a lot of people were affected in the process. |
