My dear u have great taste in movies like me . . . "Conan the Barbarian" is one of those rare sword & sorcery movies that actually worked. It's an epic film that wasn't afraid to be graphic. It's amazing these days how many movies are big, violent, and loud, but it's all just so light. With the exception of "Braveheart" and a few others, most movies that aim to portray realistic, pre-gun action fall way short and become comic books. Not that graphic violence is something to be glorified, but if you're going to make a movie about barbarians it should have the elements that director John Milius poured into Conan. Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by Ogaga4Luv(m): 11:53pm On Jan 07, 2012 |
Die Hard It's not the best gun movie. It's definitely not the best fighting movie. It doesn't have the best dialogue. It doesn't have the best cast. It doesn't have the best plot. What it has is possibly the best combination of the above in any action movie every made. It takes the pieces that it has to work with and forms a better whole. The dialogue is good. The cast is good (Rickman is the best of the bunch)^^ . The plot is good. Together, they are great. This film is the benchmark by which all American action movies should be judged. If an action film is better than Die Hard, then it deserves to be praised for that achievement alone. |

Bullshit indeed friend --- absolute bullshit i wouldn't have waste my time on see this even . Like so many things, having low expectations always makes something mediocre more enjoyable. And make no mistake about it, The Darkest Hour really isn't very good. I think poor acting is the killer in this film. Fair enough eghost dear i thought I'll be the only one on here to know this movie is nothing -- . However, what really harms this film is the acting. I never really get a good sense of the stakes involved. The actors seem more agitated then scared. To be sure, they, "act" scared, but to me it's never really believable. The poor acting also doesn't translate well into their being a credible ensemble. In other words, they don't seem like they belong together, let alone, facing an alien invasion . The most egregious acting comes from the actor playing the Swedish ex-pat. He's the feel good villain in the group. After stealing the two male leads internet idea, he is shown closing the door on an attractive young woman trying to escape the aliens. She doesn't make it, much to the dismay of many male film goers I'm sure. Later, he gives a speech about finding out who you are in 2 seconds of time and blah, blah. The actor does a poor job. It was cringe inducing. Fortunately, he soon gets vaporized in a predictable attempt to redeem himself. eghost247: |

eghost247:I saw the trailer and I was really pissed off. For the alien to have taken the dog in the movie didn't put it on a good spotlight to me, because it didn't add anything spetacular. It really turned me off from watching the movie. |

Real Steel. Just there. Didn't like Jackman's character. Too mentally slow for me. But great to see wolverine and blob reunite |

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by iice(f): 6:46pm On Jan 09, 2012 |
@TOH Abeg sometimes, pesin just has to watch something actiony @Chika, I think it needed more push to be that heartfelt, Jackson's character kinda took too slow to get to that point. Towards the end, yeah it became better. I like the kid the most. I still have Fast Five to watch. Hopefully i won't comatose with Paul Walker's acting |

Paul Walker is to what Jessica Alba is in the movie business. I can't stand both of em. Goodluck with that snooze fest. I rather watch "Solaris " which was pretty bad than that. LOL! |
Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by ThiefOfHearts(f): 7:15pm On Jan 09, 2012 |
Ryan Reynolds is worse than Paul |
Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched - Part 2 by iice(f): 7:17pm On Jan 09, 2012 |
High Five! I feel the same about Alba. Pretty to look at but nothing. Lol. Crossing my fingers. Rofl, haba i think Ryan Reynolds tries small. Well for the most part, i still see him as the '2 guys, a girl and a pizza place' guy. |
