IMPORTANT PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT Notice in hereby given to the seven villages that make up Nempi Autonomous Community in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State that the family of H.R.H. Eze Alfred Muoghalu Obickweihe, the Ogbuehi II of Nempi Ancient Kingdom has officially informed is of the passing on to eternal glory of our revered Eze, H.R.H, Eze Alfred Muoghalu Obiekv.eihe and his lovely Ugoeze Lolo Stella Nkwugharamozo Obiekweihe.

While we receive this message with great shock, we are however grateful to God Almighty for the good life our great Eze and his Lolo lived on earth and the relative peace experienced by our great Community in the 44 years he reigned as Ogbuehi II of our Community. Preparations for according them a befitting burial have commenced in earnest and we enjoin all our sons, daughters, wive, in-laws, friends and well-wishers to put our hands on deck to make same a memorable one come January 4, 2021. As we are mourning the demise of our great Eze and his lovely Lolo, we make haste to remind us that there will be no social activities of any form until the end of the traditional one year mourning period on As 31st day of December, 2021. To this end, there will not be any Nempi Day Celebrations and the annual Mmanwu Festival on December 28, 2020/2021 and January 1, 2021 respectively. All traditional marriages, wedding ceremonies and all such personal activities will be low-keyed.

Painful as this might seem but we should note that this is the tradition of our people.
