Anambra 2021guber : Retired Army Generals, others back Group captain Nnoruka


Retired soldiers in Anambra State on Wednesday said they would back the governorship ambition of Group Captain Nnamdi Nnoruka of the Labour Party.

General Arinze Ebenebe(retd) disclosed this during the inauguration of the LP Secretariat in Amawbia, in the Awka South Local Government Area of the state.

He said they decided to do so to change the political narrative of the state.

He said,"You should know that military is an extension of politics, even though we're not politicians. Our support will boost his ego because we're going to ensure the right things are done.

"We're going to be his think-tank using our experience, human and resource management, in all fields of endeavor.

"We're going to advise him to ensure the right things are being done. We're also mobilizing civilians. All hands must be on deck.

"The military is part of the electorate with voting powers. For example, I've commanded the army both in peace and in war. We'll come up with strategies to mobilize and assist him win the election.

Speaking, Nnoruka said the support by the soldiers were borne out of their knowledge of what he could do.

"All of us know ourselves and we're from the same institution - the Nigeria Defence Academy .

"They know what I'm capable of doing, especially with regards to the security challenges facing Anambra state today. That's why they're all in support of the project," he stated
