If that is your argument, I'm sure that you can see how it is flawed. Obviously, God could not possibly live by your standards, since He is the Maker of all Laws and the origin of all things and you are not.

As for the Scripture you posted, it seems obvious to me that God is saying that He is far better than humans at giving good gifts to those who ask Him (that is, those who are willing to receive those gifts from Him). But I don't see anything in the passage defining "good gifts" in the way that it seems to me that you do. In fact, the passage does not even explain what God defines as good gifts. It only uses the phrase.

Other parts of the Bible teach two other things that are relevant to this discussion:

1. God does not necessarily define things as we do.
