Not Yet Time To Celebrate Achievements; Azubogu says as Igwe Nnewi honours him for driving Development

... reiterates that challenges facing Anambra State does not call for celebration, but should rather spur us to take right decisions to reroute State’s development journey.

Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu stated this after being honoured by the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, Igwe K. O Orizu for his many developmental efforts in Anambra State today, 28th December 2020 at the palace of Igwe K. O Orizu of Nnewi.

The Igwe K.O. N Orizu who has been on the throne for 57 years is one of the longest-reigning King on the throne in the world and also one of the oldest at the age of 95, stated that Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu has proven that peoples' votes can produce development blocks for the people. He said that Azubogu has fueled voting enthusiasm by the public with projects and programmes he facilitated into the state even as a House of Representatives member and that he is being honoured today as means of saying ‘jisie ike na olu’. Igwe Nnewi went on to encourage Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu after decorating him with a traditional regalia with the name 'Ifeanyichukwu Nnewi'. According to Igwe Orizu, "I encourage you to continue working for the people.Ifeanyichukwu Nnewi, rulu olu gawaa na iru" Igwe said.

According to Azubogu nicknamed ‘MR PROJECT,’ by the Anambra people for his many developmental efforts across Anambra State, he said "With my knowledge of challenges facing our state ranging from general infrastructural deficits, the collapse of industries, increasing unemployment, ecological ‘erosion’ challenges, weak institutions of governance, poor or lack of inter-Governmental relations etc, it is not yet time for celebrating one’s development efforts, but time for us as a people to wear our thinking caps and take decisions that will reroute our states development journey. Our ofala festivals should be structured and its Cultural Tourism potentials harnessed as we strive to advance our Economy" Azubogu concludes.

Azubogu whose development effort touches multi-sectors like Road, Erosion, ICT, Human Capital Development, Education, Health, Industrial Development, Agriculture, Institutional Development, Public Policies, sports Development etc is also an alumnus of Harvard business school with focus on Public Policy and Infrastructural Development.
