Mohammed Nami, the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has stated that no recruitment will take place this year (2021), as the revenue agency is struggling with the salaries of its existing workers.

The FIRS boss disclosed that recruitment of staff for the agency is an impossible feat, as there is not enough accommodation yet even for existing staff in face of COVID-19 social distancing rules. According to Nami, some of the staff are working remotely from home.
