sadly, memory loss is an inevitable part of life cycle. how old is your dad? there are other factors as such as

Dementia can cause/affect memory loss. however, before we jump to any conclusions can you describe his type of memory loss? like his symptoms?

He sometimes forgot his room when he's going to bed at night and knock at someone else room in d flat, when on the road driven , let say from stadium(surulere) to Ikeja and u ask him where we are , he might say is this Oyingbo a place dats has a different road network .

this started after he recovered from the illness, thsi occurence is about 8 months now, so I get alot of coomplains from my mum and it worries me alot.

sounds like Alzeimer's disease (i hope not). if thats the case, then i'm afraid there's little you can do cos there's no known cure for this kind of brain disorder. i'll advice you to get a doctor's opinion.
