Preamble:

No one will fight for Nigeria because no one is willing to die for Nigeria. No one has ever died for Nigeria because no one is a Nigerian. People can die for their tribes but not Nigeria. The only reason Nigeria exists is because it is built on injustice which the Fulani enjoy and cheating which the Yoruba enjoy. If the wealth they steal or share belongs to any of these tribes, there would be no Nigeria. All the people dying are dying for themselves or their tribes. For instance, Ken Saro Wiwa died for his tribe, Ogoni, Abiola, for himself, Gideon Orkah for his tribe, Tiv and so on. When you hear Tinubu for president being chanted by Yoruba, it is the quest to steal for their tribe the way they're watching Fulani steal for theirs. At the end of the day, no one is a Nigerian. We only have a pack of hyena political class stealing wealth from the Eastern region for themselves while their tribesmen rejoice that it is their tribe's turn to steal.

If you're an adherent of western, you would have viewed the move starred by Clint Eastwood, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly when Blondie, The Ugly was confused on whether to go for gold or preserve his life. This situation is akin to what the Yoruba nation is facing. A people that are torn between the quest to be in Nigeria and enjoy free wealth from Eastern Nigeria and be massacred by Fulani terrorists from the north and fighting for independent nation without free oil and ensure their safety and the safety of their children.

We all see the halfhearted support they gave Sunday Igboho and actually were relieved that the man is out of the picture. Igboho was like a clog in the wheel of free food. So if it is a coin toss....if it is a coin toss between free crude oil and self preservation, what will the Yoruba choose? I can hazard a guess and your guess is as good as mine between the choice of free oil from the East and destruction from the North. A tribe that backed jihadists in the quest for power wouldn't mind sacrificing a lot for a shot for power and even more wealth. As you can see, the shout for Oduduwa state is inseparable from one man.

This is one of the reasons why I felt it is laughable when the likes of IPOB presume that a widespread rejection of Nigeria by native tribes is a possibility because of fear of ethnic cleansing. There is a lot more to the African psyche than fear of death. If we blacks were say Europeans, there would be a widespread boycott of Fulani beef by now. But not Africans. The belle comes first for most African tribes.
