Epilepsy is confirmed with repeated episodes of Siezures (also known as convulsions)without any immediately identifiable cause or occurrence of 2 or more Siezures within 6--12months

Epilepsy is characterized by siezures&other, behavioral &sensory abnormalities. But NOT all cases of Siezures are diagnosed as Epilepsy

Epileptic Siezures are usually self limiting &will stop after a few minutes.

We must avoid harmful practices like;

Forcing spoons,sticks&other objects into the mouth of victims,
Pouring water on them,
Puting their feet in fire,
Using irritating substances like Onions,Garlic,Scent leaf on their faces/nostrils/airways
These DO MORE HARM than Good

It's also important to note that Epilepsy is NOT transferable,it DOES NOT jump from one person to the other

Epilepsy can be prevented by avoiding Traumatic falls/Accidents that can cause Head injury,
Good Antenatal services to prevent birth head injuries,
Saying NO to Hard drugs/Narcotics abuse,
Ensuring Prescription only sales&use of drugs that affect the Central Nervous System
