ATIKU SUPPORT ORGANISATION,
SOUTH-WEST ZONE,
WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE.

On Thursday, 24th of February 2022, the South-West zone of Atiku Support Organisation held a press conference at a choice location in Lagos. The event kicked off at 11.40am with journalists from select electronic and print media houses present. Also in attendance were leaders and members of the Atiku Support Organisation(ASO) from the sub-zones of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states respectively.

On behalf of the organisation, Hon. Abdul-Azeez Akinsanya, the South-West zonal coordinator of ASO announced that the press release is necessitated by the urgency to persuade His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Wazirin Adamawa to run for the seat of President come 2023. He posited that this call is propelled by the patriotic desire to rescue Nigeria from the brink of self-destruction.

Enumerating the many hurdles confronting the nation at the moment, Hon. Akinsanya stated unequivocally that Alh. Atiku Abubakar's wealth of leadership experience in the private and public sector puts him in good stead to get Nigeria working again. In addition, he emphasized that, at this vexatious stage of our national life, only our best foot should be put forward.

While highlighting the attributes that stand the former Vice-president from the crowd, Hon. Akinsanya further appealed to the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to uphold the democratic principles on which it is built by ensuring a level playing field for all aspirants.

At the end of the briefing, members of the audience were allowed to ask questions bothering on the candidacy of HE, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, the issue of power shift and sundry matters relating to the Organisation.

Find below the transcript from the world press conference as held by Atiku Support Organisation, South West zone:

"Good day ladies and gentlemen,

This press conference is fuelled by the burning flame of patriotism in all of us at the Atiku Support Organisation, South West zone.

After embarking on a marathon of far-reaching consultations with relevant stakeholders and our structure at all levels, the leadership of this great Organisation herewith calls on our principal, His Excellency, Alh. Atiku Abubakar to hearken to the clamour for him to throw his hat in the ring for the 2023 Presidential elections.

At this crucial stage of our nationhood, there is no gainsaying that our existence as an entity is on the verge of capitulation. Indeed, we are confronted by a myriad of problems which includes, but not limited to socio-economic difficulties, dilapidated infrastructure and multifaceted insecurity which has the nation by the jugular. Hence, it is imperative that, more than ever before, our beloved country needs a leader well equiped with the much needed character, competence, manifest capacity and sagacity.

These attributes and more are symbolized by His Excellency, Alh. Atiku Abubakar. With a proven antecedence of being a catalyst for unity and stability, as typified by his cosmopolitan and detribalized nature; no other Nigerian is better positioned to heal and soothe the wounds of a nation badly bleeding and fractured by ethnic and religious sentiments.

His achievements as Vice President from 1999 to 2007 are well documented and unrivalled till date. Not also forgetting his phenomenal business acumen which makes him the second highest employer of labour in his home Adamawa state, after the state government. Saddled with the responsibility of reviving the economy after years of military misrule as VP and head of economy, Alh. Abubakar assembled a team of young Nigerian technocrats from all walks of life. Without a doubt, his belief in the abilities of young people remains as firm as ever.

Despite the rhetorical conjectures often deployed by naysayers and those who want the status quo to be maintained, we hereby call on our great party, the PDP, not to allow itself to be blackmailed or boxed into a corner by the emotional panderings of those who are bent on bringing the party down. We do not ask for any special consideration, all we demand is a level playing field devoid of prejudices.

On this note, we are obligated to compel His Excellency, Alh. Atiku Abubakar to heed this clarion call immediately because our beloved nation needs his wealth of experience to get Nigeria working again. While pledging our loyalty to this prophetic mandate, we assure our principal of the support of this Organisation through its deep-rooted structures entrenched across the length and breadth of the South West. Run, His Excellency, run!!

Thank you all for attending. God bless Nigeria!!"

Signed,
Hon. Abdul-Azeez Akinsanya,
South-West Zonal Co-ordinator,
Atiku Support Organisation.

Seyi Makinde chairing Atiku Town hall meeting confirms my suspicions that Makinde is very very stupid

Watching the advert on AIT got me really pissed

During Shasha and Igboho Riot, Yorubas were arrested on Seyi Makinde's orders while Hausa guys walked freely, OPC made arrest of wakili and Makinde couldn't prosecute him

Makinde and Auxiliary decided to work against Sunday Igboho till they got him out of the picture

Now same Makinde wants to support Atiku over Tinubu and Osinbajo
