I would like to start this thread on basis of accepting fear is a general factor among mammals (humans and other animals).
But why is the fear of death, which is an inescapable reality, so much that we try not to think about it?

For me, I feel like death is a means of discontinuing a game or process to restart/ try another level of this "program".
We are so anxious to face its inevitability that we fill our lives completely as a means to ignore or evade the thoughts of death

Why are humans so afraid of death?
