Am happy with some info from this thread, but we should make proper inquiry about product before buying them. Am Alone, the truth is that you will not and never get a 1st grade spain tile from the market not possible u can only get them from company here in Nigeria and again about the china door, most sold in the market are Nigeria market quality for the Nigeria masses that why I never patronise them cause it a must low quality product. Wooden door are better imorted or local and are good u can either use mahogany or mazonia not too expensive but has quality. Am going crazy about my projet now the finishing is consuming more than I expected and my problem is that am doing it to my taste but it for let I will in my next reply upload some pics and start will expense brakedown and will make available my source for material and product used. The roof will be install from thursday but plastering start on thursday plumbering work begin today |

TBrownAuto: How many bedroom is your project and what is the plastering costing you or how many bags of cement are you using?. Iam about to start the plastering of my house first before doing the plumbing in order to take advantage of the present static price of cement and with the removal of fuel subsidy, price of cement might increase next year. |

Re: The Finishing Of My House (Oluwa Champion) by princeonx: 8:44pm On Dec 15, 2011 |
Am-alone: Its true I haven't seen the pictures of the house but he said the top part took 6,600 plus 500 blocks that's about 7,100 pcs of blocks so how big can the house be? I didn't make my comment to challenge or dispute his cost that was why I asked if it was a mistake. The top part of my own four flat project is estimated to take about 6500-7000 blocks and I know It cost me about half of his own cost to do my own decking. As per location, am not judging his cost based on that cause his labour cost are about the same amount that I paid. If we were talking about foundation or German floor then I can assume that maybe his land is water log or in a wet zone which I don't know much about but we are talking about decking and I will really want to see a break down on how his decking only cost N4.2m at least for learning sake! |
Re: The Finishing Of My House (Oluwa Champion) by AmAlone: 8:52pm On Dec 15, 2011 |
Okay!!! Lets just wait and see!!!! Also, note that if you are building on a water log ground, you decking needs an extra enforcement. Mostly 16mm iron rod will be used. Again, I am not taking sides with him or you. I believe I ill have to see the pictures before I can comment. Peace!!!! OLUWA CHAMPION $ |
Re: The Finishing Of My House (Oluwa Champion) by princeonx: 9:10pm On Dec 15, 2011 |
Building size 80x50, room size 12x10 and 11x10 kitchen 9x7 kitchen veranda 5x7 toilet 6x5 palour 45square meter parlour veranda 3square metter Above are the measurement he gave. As per building on a water log, foundation and German floor is where much much attention is needed not decking. A friend of mine is building on a water log ground and his German floor alone cost morethan my deckig while his decking was just a regular decking just like mine. He even used 12mm and just few 16mm for his decking because his engineer said the less weight on top the better especially due to the wet land. All the same, we shall see and learn. By the way, am loving your finishing touches! Good job! |
