By the way, it's not just a Nigerian thing. We inherited it from the British and virtually every armed forces in the world has chaplains. I remember that some Americans that served in Vietnam said that they left Christianity because US Army chaplains told them that it was OK to fight in Vietnam and kill Vietnamese people.
