The House of Representatives has called on the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, and oil marketers to refrain from making public accusations against each other, using the media.

This directive is contained in a press statement issued by the Reps Joint Petroleum Committee on Monday while reacting to the alleged non-availability of crude oils for refineries operating in the country.

SaharaReporters had recently reported how NMDPRA Chief Executive, Farouk Ahmed highlighted concerns over the consistency and standardisation of the output of Aliko Dangote’s refinery.

NMDPRA boss said the quality of Dangote Refinery products was inferior compared to imported ones.

He also claimed that Dangote Refinery had yet to be licensed by the appropriate agency and yet to be completed for smooth operation.

He said, "I think we have about 45% completion. We cannot rely heavily on one refinery to feed the nation because Dangote is requesting that we suspend or stop imports, especially of AGO and DPK, and direct all marketers to his refinery.

"That is not good for the nation in terms of energy security, and it is not good for the market because of the monopoly.”

In responding to Ahmed’s comments, Aliko Dangote said he stopped his earlier plans of investing in the Nigerian steel sector to avoid monopoly allegations as raised by the NMDPRA boss.

He said he is willing to sell off his refinery to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for citizens to know his investments are aimed at growing the country.

Tinubu should stop using Farouk Ahmed to fight Dangote. Dangote himself is not a saint but frustrating a business of over 10 billion dollar will not help our economy but send negative signals to foreign and local investors.

Nonsense people.
Instead of NASS getting to the root of the matter and taking steps to unbundle the NNPC and its subsidiaries to put an end of the monumental corruption in the oil and gas sector.
Why haven't the National Assembly done anything to stop salaries of workers in NNPC if the corporation have not refined a single oil in almost 10yrs but collecting fat salaries?
And by the way, where is Tinubu the Petroleum Minister in all these saga?
Tinubu is the person behind all these mess. Why has he continued to keep Myle Kyari as NNPC MD despite the allegations of corruptions. He is using Myle Kyari and the NNPC to run the cabal.
Awon Oloshi corrupt thieves in govt.

I have taken my time to go through all this back and forth on this issue. The truth is that both sides cannot be absolved of blame
Dangote started by insinuating that NNPC has only 7% out of the 20% earlier agreed,NNPCL through the NMDPRA fired back that the refinery is incomplete and the products are substandard. They also said he wants to run a monopoly
Dangote fired back by saying that his products are standard and the NNPCL can buy him out so that he will not be in the way of being a monopoly
This is a classic game of thrones, who blinks next because I know Dangote is fighting a lot of demons, mafias and principalities holding Nigeria back

I don't think Tinubu has any reason to fight Dangote. He just recently appointed him as part of the economic team he set up and etc.

This is a matter between Dangote and NNPC. All those alarm from Dangote is to call NNPC and their cabal out and force Tinubu to wade in faster.

I am sure in the coming days, it will be resolved. Tinubu need Dangote now more than ever.

Farouk won't talk if it is not true. If the fuel is inferior, how would you know as an end user?
It is the responsibility of the regulatory authority to alert the public and which farouk has done.
What do we have to say about building collapse happening in the country. Nobody blames the cement used but only maybe the contractors.
We should not whip sentiment in everything. We expect dangote to prove farouk wrong but not whip sentiment.

I don't know what to make of Dangote in this matter but from the times past when there was news all over the place of doctorate degree holders (and I think maybe even professors??) applying to be Dangote truck drivers I began to really suspect him as a conning guy that comes off as quiet and honest. Man was busy cashing in on international loans undecided

They know who to talk to cos the man can't be acting on his own. Someone sent him. They went to Dangote lab and tested his products. They were found to be much more higher in quality than the imported ones. L'obatan.

You can't be wooing investors when you're busy destroying the business of those at home. Sadly, dangote is a global figure and mentor to many. The would-be investors won't hesitate to reconsider their idea of coming to us now, with this news.

Nigerians are beginning to know who the enemy of the masses truly arw. The NA should stop chasing shadows jare. Don't be afraid of facing the people involved. Let them sack you like they did to Ndume. It's not the end of your life...when all of you are same of the same nko? You all need to be sent packing. Sadly a loloof Nigerian youths are still fighting over tribal issues. Smh!

More like, oya Dangote, come and collect sweet and stop crying yeah.

Dangote would be looking at his $16bn and be asking, who send me?

Foreign cartel will tell him "no crude" so as to sell their refined products to Tinubu. Tinubu would tell him "no crude" so as to show him who got power and how dare he try to stop his subsidy scam.

Dangote should go and buy from Venezuela. Better still, dismount the iron and remount in Venezuela. It would help their economy.

If Dangote consider selling it, he shouldn't hesitate to contact me. I'll pay in instalments 10k monthly.

It's really getting messier between Dangote and the administration of Senator Bola Tinubu. All thanks to badly thought-out economic policies. Who is going to be the most affected of an ill-conceived economic policy in the country if not Dangote himself?
Tinubu, after winning the presidential election in 2023, extended the olive branch to the losers of the elections and asked for their support in running his government. Alas, nigga was sworn in and immediately became power-drunk. Most of the appointments he has made have come from his region and among his kinsmen, in the same breath, wanted support from all Nigerians. Is that how to run government of national unity?

Yes, there was an agreement and dangote kept to it. He also has begun paying back the loan taken. They should leave this man alone. This alone can fuel crises and protests nationwide. These people attacking him are the problem of the masses who are always at the receiving end. If dangote begins selling petrol at 400 naira, its the masses who will benefit the most cos even if fuel sells for 2k per liter, these corrupt people will still buy without complaining. I hope the masses are learning

If Dangote who is a billionaire business man and a Nigerian will complain about ease of doing business here, why won't foreign investors be scared.

This government will finally finish us.
