Makinde is a very greedy man who can't keep his eyes off local govt fund. He is pushing all these foolish local govt chairmen toward prison but they did not know

Every single one of the Chairmen in Oyo state was handpicked and so what do we expect? For those that don't understand yet, what they are saying in simpler terms is that they don't want financial autonomy and all their allocation should be under the control of the Governor.

The federal government has a step more to go . To amend the local governments electoral body formulation, and mode operandi after this the state government will sit down somewhere

They are wasting their time

Supreme Court Order covers all local Governments
Irrespective of the association they belong to

Makinde is using his hand picked LG Chairmen like parrots

FG should hold the Oyo State LG allocation until the LG Chairmen are ready to do the right thing

Makinde does not own Oyo State

This will further provoke Makinde while those LG chairmen are now like a bottled maize beyond the reach of the foul as a result of the SC judgement.
That's handiwork of Makinde if you don't know. He ordered them to form their own association and withdraw from ALGON so as not to be bound or be influenced by the ALGON dictates.

Nonsense if you ask me. The law of the land says allocations should be paid to local governments accounts. When they pay you, return it back to your governor. Radarada

I agree with you.
They should do this and stop disturbing the polity.

BoldBrainz:
Nigerian politicians are very self-centered.

Makinde is about to set a dangerous precedent. Having failed to prevent LG autonomy as recently affirmed by the Supreme court, State Governors have been scheming to find new ways to circumvent the ruling without running foul of its provisions.

And less than four days ago, Makinde insinuated this very move all in a bid to detach his state chairmen from the Nationally recognised body, so he can continue dictating operational terms of the LG finances due to his state.

The irritating part here is seeing the chairmen buying into his nefarious scheme to the detriment of the ordinary indigenes. All these things account for why the Nigerian populace keeps being restive and demanding circumstantial changes through protests that are now becoming violent.

What a waste of a country!

This because the LG chairmen aren't multi parties..if this LG autonomy will work, then a more transparent body should conduct elections not SIECs

They don't want to be leaders but be boy boy so that nobody will say they are not capable of developing their local government. Federal government will follow court directives sha

I just pity those L/G Chairman, when the assessment time come, their Governor will not be there to safe them, mist of these Chairman will stay long behind EFCC bars. I thought Makinde is an honourable man.
