UNFORTUNATE DEATH OF A PROTESTER BY A SOLDIER IN ZARIA

On 6 August 2024, troops of the Nigerian Army received a distress call that some hoodlums gathered in Samaru in large numbers, burning tires on the road and pelting stones on security personnel. The troops immediately mobilised and arrived at the scene to disperse the mob and enforce the curfew imposed by the State Government.

On arrival at the scene, the hoodlums brazenly attempted attacking the troops prompting a soldier to fire a warning shot to scare the hoodlums away, which unfortunately led to the death of a 16 year old boy Ismail Mohammed. The soldier involved has since been arrested and undergoing interrogation as at the time of this report.

Saddened by the unfortunate incident, the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja has sent a high-powered delegation led by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Maj Gen Lander Saraso to visit and condole with the family of the deceased.

The deceased was buried according to islamic rites with senior military officers of the Nigerian Army in attendance.

When you find yourself in the middle of a rowdy meeting, keeping silent and observing the goings-on can work wonders.
Not participating in this protest has done wonders for Igbo.
Now, we can see clearly ALL angles to the problem.
Staying out of this protest may prove to be Igbo best political move in decades.
Who knew that a Nigerian soldier can be arrested or even questioned for gunning down a protesting youth? A practice that is the norm in the East?
Well now you know!
We still dey Looku and Laafu.

The best gift to your unborn children is to Japa from Nigeria, look at the British protests and how the police has been handling it with professionalism then look at our protest in Nigeria with the high death toll.

Tinubu better thread carefully and not allow the over zealous army push him to oblivion.

He shud learn from the Bangladeshi pm who used force to quench protest by using the police to kill over 300 people. But when the protests escalated,it was still the same military that told her to resign and run away.
I saw videos of protesters invading her residence carting away her foodstuff and drinks.some even looted her standing fans.
The more Tinubu uses force the more the northerners will be more agitated. If care is not taken, these Northern mobs will invade Abuja, and when the tension becomes too much, the military will just tell Tinubu to run away from villa, and that's all. Iku ton pa ojugba eni,owe lon pa fun nioo

No apology accepted. This is how the army and police killed people in Lekki but denied same. What about the one police openly murdered in Yobe? What has been done about that extra-judicial killing?

Why didn't the Army attain to him if it was a mistake? He was left to bleed to death.

Apologies rejected.

As if the 2012 protest did not claim any lives during Jonathan. At least 12 unarmed protesters were killed and many Shiates members were also killed during Jonathan. So stop your hypocrisy
