Why Has WAEC Refuse To Release Its 2024 SSCE Result? by Mrshape: 10:24pm On Aug 09
WAEC boasts of releasing its SSCE results 45 days after the last paper of the exam. In previous years, they have kept this promise by releasing the results on or before 45 days after the last paper. However, this year, 2024, the 45 days ended yesterday, 8th August 2024.

During the marking and coordination of this year's examination, scores were entered simultaneously at the marking centers by the ICT personnel. This method would have led one to think that the results would be released before the 45 days.

Why have they not released the results yet? Could it be because of the protest? I personally wouldn't take that as an excuse because the marking and coordination had ended, as announced by WAEC Nigeria's X handler before the protest started.

The reason we need to call for the release of the results is that many students who did not pass a particular subject in this SSCE diet usually take the GCE. According to reports, the WAEC GCE second series ended today, 9th August 2024, meaning that if registration continues, it will be late enrollment, which will require an additional fee.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that GCE registration is now ₦27,000 for the PIN. With the registration and computer fee, it will cost approximately ₦30,000 to complete the enrollment. With late enrollment, there will be an additional fee, totaling about ₦40,000.

It is important to observe a trend in the WAEC diet examinations and predict something. All 2023 diet examinations were paper-based. In the 2024 WAEC GCE first series diet, it was a hybrid exam—CBT and paper combined. The 2024 SSCE was only paper-based. The 2024 GCE second series diet will allow candidates to choose either the paper test or CBT. (If there is an extension in this registration, I will register myself so that I can get first-hand information on what to expect in this examination.)

From this trend, it is obvious WAEC is moving from paper-based examinations to computer-based examinations. But with this delay in the release of results, even with ICT personnel in the marking centers, don't you think it will affect candidates' confidence in the use of CBT examinations? My fear is based on my recent experience with the JAMB UTME some months back when they delayed results and had to reschedule the examination for some students. Don't you think by now students will be asking themselves, "Are you sure what happened in UTME this year will not happen in SSCE WAEC?"

Nigeria is just not a place to be currently. Everything is just upside-down. There may be technical issue on the results thereby making it impossible to be released on time. Another date 12 August, 2024 is given as a new date for the release. Let's see how it goes.

That's why we need to speak out, if we don't anything can happen in Nigeria, and there might be a possibility of students not giving the grade they have, a black man need 24/7 monitoring to do the right the.
Although WAEC has be trust worthy over the years
