Honestly u are very naive

How can government cortrol naira going to 1550

Hope you are beyond that ss3 in your profile

Really, government cannot control currency depreciation or appreciation?
You must have gone to the back of school.
So you that claimed to have gone beyond SS3,you don't know that;
1. If government create enabling environment for manufacturing sector to thrive, that it can strengthen naira?
2.When government balances her trade by exporting at the same rate she is importing, that exchange rate will stabilize?
3. If government build her own refinery and refine oil locally for domestic consumption and export, that naira will appreciate?
4. If government improves national security expecially in rural area where agricultural activities are done, that more food will be produced leading to self-food sufficiency?
5. ......and a lot more.

Or is it that you don't know that all the above economy policies that control our national life indices are controlled by government?
Or is it that you are not aware that it is government failed policies that has caused naira to reach the #1550 against dollar that you are talking about?
And these are what the protesters are calling the government out for,and you are here saying protest is not the solution. That government can't control its currency loosing value every minute and....bla bla bla bla

They have included the release of Nnamdi Kanu as one of the reasons for upcoming protest to entice south Easterners to joining the protest.
Well, let's get seated and cross our phingers .

Amen. I realy hope so.

But you see the thing is this. This guy is not gentleman mumu Jonathan. This guy is a proper gangstar. So this guy may not be interested in buying votes or anything. This guy will get the INEC Chair to announce the results he wants even if only his wife voted for him. And he will use frog eyes and look at everybody and say yes? What can you do? Do your worst. That is what I suspect of this guy.
There's nothing he can do successfully without the backing of the north, even if he changes the INEC chair, there are northerners who hold key positions at inec and they hardly betray one another. One tree can't make a forest and don't forget that Nigeria isn't lagos and tinubu isn't buhari they worship like an idol.

Last year's election was a clear proof he's losing his grip here in Lag. The majority of us didn't vote him in Alimosho where he also lost. The votes he got were through intimidation, threats and ballot box snatching. The largest percentage of 2027 votes will come from the south west, which isn't enough. That's why they're fighting hard to grab rivers and I don't see fubara defecting to the apc, edo too isn't sure for him

I've lived among them and I know what my northern friends are saying already. Even in the last year's election, his victory in the north wasn't so overwhelming. They now see clearly that he deceived them with same faith ticket to win. They're really plotting to shame him come 2027 and trust them, they're always once beaten twice shy. He can bring food and money to them and they'd still reject it, despite their poor state. They can be so blunt. Tinubu can have hus way in the south west, except in Lagos.

Anyone who believes that a country as Nigeria that's directly depending on oil as the only source of income to survive and been under subsidy for over 40years can just woke up one day and decided to take another strange route without any drastic but well articulated measures (raising fuel price from #200 per litter to whopping sun of #900 and then convinced himself that nothing is wrong about that or better that nothing would happen/change must be a direct blood relation of Adolf Hitler (The spirit in human flesh that causes Six Million Jews to pass through the Gas Chamber.

Oil producing Nations and their minimum wages..

If you knew the minimum wages of our fellow oil producing countries and compare with our own minimum wage,
You would understand why I said we should pay #200 for a litre.

What you’re demanding for is quite easy.

Since the petroleum industry has been deregulated, you can actually apply for licence to import fuel and sell at N200 to the people.

I can assure you that the whole country will buy only from you and shun other marketers and that would have solved the issue you raised.

As long as the exchange rate is $/1590, fuel will never be #200 per litre
..why fuel is expensive is because Nigeria is importing the fuel with dollars...the federal government says they spend 2 biillon dollars to import fuel every month into Nigeria..with 1590 naira per dollars...with this the landing costs of the fuel into nigeria will costs up to 800 naira per litre or more... that is why fuel is expensive..but if refineries are working in Nigeria and Nigeria refine and produce fuel here in Nigeria the fuel will be cheap.. like 200 naira to a litre... refineries working in Nigeria will stop.importation of fuel disel and other petroleum products

There is a way it can be orchestrated to avoid this and it will settle after a while around the pegged price, even the black markets will settle around it.

You dont have enough resources to get the dollar to do that.

Consumption of forex exceeds what we are generating from our exports.
Thats y we keep on borrowing.

The only way is let market forces of demand and supply naturalise the dollar naira exchange.

The primary reason fuel is expensive is because crude the raw material for it is also high.

You can do that when you have stablized yourself as a producing economy.
No import dependent economy should do that.

It is a suicide recipe for any import dependent economy. I hope I dont have to break that down for you and show you why.

This guy is being sponsored by external forces to destabilise Nigeria

The guy is a small boy. When he was the SUG president in UNILAG he was not articulate.

The problem on ground is that Tinubu is not ready to fight dirty for now. I posted it in 2022 on nairaland when I was given babaolofin account to use when somebody told me at a Christian Camp that if Tinubu becomes President they will invite the Military to take over. By then, Tinubu had not indicated interest to contest. I posted it on nairaland. He is a Delta IBO. I asked him who will invite the Military? The man ran away since last year from coming to the camp.

There are many internal forces. External forces work based on information provided to them. This time around, the information is propaganda.

Just like during Awolowo era when they used Akintola, also, during Obasanjo they used SB Awoniyi but Obasanjo had military clique apart from political group. This time around, they are using Yoruba human rights lawyers and CSOs. During Jonathan, I don't want to mention names, all their Human rights lawyers supported Jonathan. The main target of their protest is Tinubu. Abuja has never witnessed serious protests. The major protest is always in Lagos.

Yoruba will never support any serious protests in South West. They are trying to blackmail the Yorubas and are camouflaging as Yorubas to protest. It has been resisted. What they want to do now is provocation and anything can happen from there.

Your government is too poor for all those fantasy you talked.

They only thing that can bail Nigeria is improving Nigeria to a production of crude oil in excess of 5 million barrels daily.

Cutting down unnecessary imports to balance trade.

Eliminating waste and flamboyancy from the system and investing heavily in education and security.

And this can not be achieved in 5 years

In Nigeria, it cannot be achieved in five years.
Elsewhere, it will be achived under two years.

The most important factors are political will and creative economic re-engineering.

Protest cant solve the problems in Nigeria. If you like, protest for 1 year, petrol price won't fall to #180 per litre

How can the exchange rate be $/1590 and you expect petrol to be #180 per litre. Naira needs to start strengtning before price will fall
But Tinubu devalued the Naira.

When you people the ruling class keep saying that protest is not the solution to bad governance and economic mismanagement,I wonder what then is.
What have you people in the ruling class or supporters of ruling class ever brought to the table as alternative solutions to our economy problems.

You said the exchange rate is #1500 to a dollar,is it not government bad policies that caused it?
Was it the ordinary citizens that made naira to lost value completely?

The people cry, shouted, pleaded but government paid deaf ears to their plights.
So what then do you expect the people do?
Fold their alms and allow government get away with anything-goes policies?
Or clap for government for bringing untold hardship to them?

You spoke out of ignorance.

The exchange rate is determined by what you produced for the rest of the world Vs what you consume from the rest of the world.

You can't be a consumming Nation and still demanding that your currency should be strong.

Show us one poor country with strong currency.

Need something more than protest, let Bangladesh be an example, yes the former PM Hasina left the seat, but the country has descended into chaos and anarchy with minorities like hindus being attacked by the populace.

It is far easier to destroy than to build something.

Sowore staying abroad and directing people to die for his ego lacks credibility. If you want to lead a protest come back home and lead it.

Dont stay is some distant land, eating hamburgers and pushing mentally impoverished people to die for you.

By the time you get what tou want , you wont even remember those people.

So who suppose to create the enabling environment for the manufacturing sector you are talking about?
Is it an ordinary citizen or the government?

My brother, whether I am speaking out of ignorance..oo as you said or from the point of knowledge..oo,the bottom line is that,it is the government bad policies that has caused naira to lost value.
If you like, you believe and if you don't like, leave it.
Even one example that you set above as the cause of lost of value of naira is still as a result of bad governance and policy summersault by the government.
So I still stand by what I said that it is government bad policies that made naira to lost value.

You don't understand, the Naira was never a strong currency.

What used to happened was the CBN using FOREX collected from the sales of crude oil to subsided the exchange rate.

With time, CBN started reducing this subsidy on exchange rates since 1986, thus the exchange rates were always increasing from #5= $1 ,#21= $1 ,#200= $1 until the exchange rate was left open for market forces.

As per enabling environment, there is no way accumulated problems since 1960 can suddenly be solved in 14 months of this administration.

More Nigerians need to go into efficient productivities.
