El-Rufai: How Kaduna Government Is Dragging North Back By 100 Years - MURIC by POLS: 12:11pm On Aug 18

A prominent Islamic human rights organisation, the Muslim
Rights Concern (MURIC), on Saturday, August 17, accused the Kaduna state government led by Uba Sani of dragging back the northern region of Nigeria by a hundred years.

Specifically, the group criticised the Kaduna state government for allegedly ignoring "all the brilliant legal practitioners in the North" to pick a lawyer from the south-west region 'to prosecute El-Rufai'.

Prof. Akintola and El-Rufai share a warm relationship. MURIC's statement partly reads: “We are deeply perturbed by the pre-occupation of the Kaduna state government and its state assembly with the profiling of the immediate past governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai. “Most disturbing is the manner the state government ignored all the brilliant minds in the legal profession in the whole North to pick a human rights lawyer from the South-West for the purpose of prosecuting El-Rufai."

" This is a slap in the face of not only that of legal practitioners in the North but the entire Northern population. It also constitutes a colossal waste of resources as well as an insult and a disservice to the whole North."

What has government done wrong here? At times, you must go beyond your tribe to look for the right tool to get the work done. You are talking about prosecution case here, is not something to be done with kid's gloves. South west has best lawyers in Nigeria, Kano governor would have lost to APC if not because the government quickly sent for better lawyer from south west. Best lawyers that won for Obi as governor, that Biafrans proved to win many awards in Biafra land proved to be kindergarten lawyer when he crossed to square it with south west lawyer. Learn to use best brain to do the job so you won't end up wasting money. Do you expect government to spend N150 billion fighting for N50 billion using the wrong tool? If not, allow government to use right tool in this case

You are talking about prosecution case here, is not something to be done with kid's gloves. When elrufai picked his spokesperson muyiwa adekeye from SW they didn't complain then. When he chose his lawyer from SW they were blind to that too, now they are bleating like goat☹️

So you now what to dictate to a whole government how to run it cases against an Allegedly corrupt past governor of Kaduna State.

Rather the country is dragged back by the tribalism and religious fanatic called Akintola.

Who else has noticed that with Uba as governor, Kaduna state has experienced plenty of peace so far. What has he been doing that El Rufai in his who eight years as the governor failed to do? Can we safely say that El Rufai was part of the violence that destroyed many communities and people in Kaduna state, while he was the governor?
