Fulfillment: The initial downfall of Babylon occurred about 161 years after Isaiah’s prophecy, and the city has remained a desolate ruin, with no successful attempts at rebuilding, fulfilling the prophecy completely. 2600 years later, Babylon remain in ruins with jackals and owls and other wild animals inhabiting the desolate place. Bible prophecy fulfilled even to the animals that would roam the ancient world power.

3. The Regathering of Israel

Prophecy:
God promised that after being scattered among the nations, Israel would be regathered to its homeland. He declared that He would "raise a signal for the nations", prompting them to assist in this return.

5. The Prophecy of Cyrus

Prophecy:
Cyrus the Great was prophesied by name over 150 years before his birth, indicating that he would play a pivotal role in allowing the Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple after the first scattering of Israel. At the time of the prophecy, Israel was not scattered, and there was no one called Cyrus, king of Persia. But the prophecy said Israel would scatter, be registered, and be helped to return to Jerusalem by a yet to be born king whose name would be Cyrus.

Isaiah 45:1-3- "Thus says the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held... I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places."

As I round up this piece, let's look at one other prophecy about Israel.

Amos 9:15 (NIV):

3. Planting in their own land (v. 15)

Israel is currently fighting wars on 7 fronts, why do you think they cannot be defeated? Israel is a strong Nation, not because America supports Israel but because, God, the Creator of the universe is watching over His Word upon the nation to bring it to pass. Men must therefore fear and tremble before the God of Israel. He is the Sovereign over all of creation.

By surrendering to God's sovereignty, we:

Recognize His authority
Trust His goodness
Obey His will
Find peace and rest

Why Cyrus might think it was Marduk that was helping him, it was actually YHWH. Cyrus didn't know YHWH. 150yrs before Cyrus was born, YHWH already foretold about Cyrus.
