it was worth the try in the closing stages of the game. miss or no wouldn't change the points.
a confident forward will ease a lot of tension as the season progresses. if the team constantly require multiple chances to score one goal then we will be in soup again. our defence is not that strong... yet.

Garnacho would have made it over 1.5 but he missed..

We were able to play fast-paced football for longer periods than at any time last season. Our press was more coordinated. The midfield donut was very small this time around.

Thankful for small mercies.

Building up from the back is still a problem. Not made easier by having a right footed LB.

Maguire have really improved

He's been immense these past few months.

That was perhaps the easiest 4-0 win we would ever get this season. A chance to start building up our GD but we have braindead forwards. The whole lot. Fools!

Just the 2nd game of the season and off the top of my head I can already count 6 big chances missed

We started okay and grew into the game, totally dominating Fulham. Towards the end of the first half it looked like we would get a goal at any time. However, poor finishing from Bruno and poorer final ball decisions from our attackers kept the game goalless.

Happy for ZKZ, scoring on his debut. Mazraoui had a very good debut. Shoutout to Maguire too. Sticking out his leg at the last minute denied FUlham a sure goal.

The whole attacking line needs more cohesion and they also need to improve on their finishing. Buildup was improved, but it could be better. We were also very vulnerable to their counterpresses. A good team would punish us on the counter.

Anyways, onto the next one. GGMU

Selfish wing play and worrying about individual stats and confidence will often limit the overall team performance.

The idea and decision making was on point. They need to keep doing it and working on their execution.

City and Liverpool have been scoring loads of tap ins off across goal passes for years, while our wingers keep ignoring better placed teammates just to shoot from difficult angles.

One player I have really come to respect so much is Harry Maguire.

His maturity, growth and tough skin is on another level.
The level of insults, abuse and disgrace we (including me), gave him when he was performing badly, it takes an insane amount of courage to come out from it and still do better.

If they keep doing the right things the goals will come. They need to develop good habits. Passing to the open man. Understanding that an assist can be as important as a goal.

The kind of chance Mount nearly got against City, and the one Garnacho got today, or even the one Bruno got from Case. That kind of chance is hard to miss consistently.

However if it is the type of chances Antony and Rashy were missing last year, where they are trying to beat the keeper from an angle, those chances are easy to keep missing.

Make we cut ETH some slacks. He ain't the reason Bruno couldn't score two clear chances. He ain't the reason Mount couldn't score either. He ain't the reason Garnacho couldn't score a tap-in.

The misses are on players not him.
