epainos:Ifa, as a system, is probabilistic. It works sometimes and doesn't work at other times. That's one of the traits of the system that really baffled me when I started learning. Because, if you've a Theory of Everything, at some levels, probability must feature or appear inherent in your model. If not, the theory doesn't have depth. The probabilistic or stochastic aspect is a manifestation of the quantum nature of the matrix we perceive reality. At a deeper level, this shows certain natural limits (constraints) imposed on various processes and phenomena (our perception) in the physical world. So, the limit of Odu Ifa is this probabilistic or stochastic nature. However, Ifa is deep that it goes further to the very source of the matrix we perceive as physical reality. It explains its own limits. When you start digging deeper, that's when you learn some mathematics which are really astounding and deep, especially Abstract Algebra (Group Theory). There are actually mathematical equations and functions for terms such as orun (the Ifa term for the spiritual realm or heaven), emi (soul or consciousness), spirit, and many other key terms in the corpus. The matrix we perceive as reality is the product of a kind of universal algebra or programming done by certain entities, such as Olorun Olodumare of the Yorubas, Chukwu of the Ibos, and many past humans worshipped as one god or goddess or the other in various parts of the world. Odu Ifa contains details of such algebra/programming. This is why Ifa priests often hide the core of the corpus (up to the level they know) from the majority to prevent chaos and strife. So, even if you learn the math to a certain level, there are limits or constraints to how much a person can divulge so one doesn't enter into problems. All these atheists saying soul, spirit, and the likes don't exist, if they learn some math and physics, they'll have a better understanding of reality. But there are constraints to how much a person can divulge on the Internet or offline. But with time, people will discover/understand some things. Another challenge is that if many or most people know all the mysteries there's to know about life or existence, it means that era of humans will soon go into extinction for a new era to emerge. This aspect is related to the problem of Quantum Gravity in Physics. It's better to take things one step at a time. epainos:Just start learning from Google please. It was before I used to share books with people. But I was naive then. I don't do such again. I only give recommendations (titles of books) now for interested people to get themselves online if they want. You can gradually learn Odu Ifa using Google (reading articles and watching YouTube videos on Ifa or Odu Ifa). It's very vast. But don't rely on only Odu Ifa if you want to know some of the mysteries hidden by Ifa priests. You'll need to be very good in Math and Physics (advanced level). When you learn some mysteries of Ifa, I think you'll realize why some knowledge has to be hidden from the public using complex codes and mathematics. |

epainos:About the highlighted, the Odu Ifa is a great body of knowledge as I stated before. It can be used for both good and evil. Same way, a person can learn Quantum Physics and decide to focus on creating evil technologies (applications) with the knowledge or good ones. It's based on your choice. Odu Ifa is not inherently evil, compared to discoveries and knowledge developed by a past human like Esu. For instance, a person can learn Nuclear Physics now and decide to focus on just manufacturing bombs for terrorism activities even though this field of Physics is broad and has diverse applications (both good and bad ones). If such a person is a Yoruba person, they're called Esu or associated with Esu in the Yoruba culture. Esu isn't the same entity as Satan. The concept of Satan is alien to Yoruba culture traditionally. |

epainos:I've been studying Odu Ifa for the past 6 years for a research project in Mathematical Physics. However, I'm not an Ifa priest and don't belong to any cult (Awo). I regard myself as a descendant of Orunmila and Ifa, and I cherish such connections while learning Odu Ifa. The Mathematics and Physics embedded in the corpus is so astounding, especially considering the fact that it was developed by a genius named Ifa at the beginning of the Homo sapiens era (over 200,000 years ago). In fact, if your Physics and Math are very sound, you can develop a new physics and mathematics using the corpus. That's not a mere claim. "Odu" is a Yoruba term for "code" or "mystery", so Odu Ifa is a system (a compendium of knowledge on many subjects) developed by Ifa at the beginning of the Homo sapiens era inspired by Orunmila, and this system has been named after him ever since. Hence, Odu Ifa literally means "the Code of Ifa". Personally, I regard Odu Ifa as the native version of what the whites call the Theory of Everything (TOE). I believe the genius, Ifa, had developed TOE in the past human era in Yoruba language and is known as the Odu Ifa literary corpus, but most of the content is lost in modern times. It's just so surprising when you study various concepts in Physics, Math, Sociology, and other fields, and you study the Odu Ifa comparatively and find native versions of various effects, concepts, principles in these fields encoded in Yoruba proverbs and sayings from Odu Ifa. These are very old sayings and proverbs, not something somebody just formed today. There are many examples of this. Having come across many examples in my project and was highly surprised, I've now made a it a habit to first start my research on any topic from the Odu Ifa provided I can find relevant aspects from the corpus. I learn Ifa from online videos, Facebook posts, and books (there are books of Ifa on Amazon, but they're not free). I'd encourage you to use the same route. Some people join the cult of Ifa by doing Itefa (initiation into Ifa). I don't encourage worshipping a fellow human as a god or a person immersing themselves wholly in the philosophy of their fellow human, however great. It's better to read wide, develop your own personal philosophy, and adopt a science-based approach to your spirituality. Just a suggestion. Also, I learn Odu Ifa by inspiration via dreams. But this is for the mathematical aspect/physics aspect. Person dey speak Yoruba language and is saying Ifa na ordinary person, Lols. Na that man Ifa invent the different dialects called Yoruba language today in the olden days. Some people are so naive. Do they even know what it takes to invent a language that has survived thousands of years. Senseless comment. If you be African atheist and you don't have regard for past humans, which are called African gods and goddesses, you don't have common sense. |
Religion / Re: The Whites Also Believe In The Marine World. Atheism Is Not A Western Thing. by A001: 4:49pm On Feb 06 |
FRANCISTOWN:Lols, so naive. All the gods were humans that lived in the past era. But Orunmila, Ifa and the likes weren't your average humans. The humans referred to as gods by the religious people are gifted people — humans with special powers and abilities. It's like someone saying a genius like Stephen Wolfram or Terrence Tao are just humans. Lols, those are not your average humans. And religious people call such gifted people gods and goddesses. You can check out the profiles of those two mathematicians and come back here and say they don't have special powers and abilities. Lols. You know how vast Stephen Wolfram's projects and companies are. So naive. If Orunmila, Ifa were alive today, they'd have such profiles like those two mathematicians. Lols, you think Odu Ifa corpus is something trivial or some small. Seek knowledge first and stop speaking ignorantly. Man pass man; only a kid doesn't know that. You see profs and other mathematicians praising the mathematical genius of Tao, and you'll only be a fool to be calling that 'legend'. I don't have to believe or disbelieve in god to recognize a genius or polymath when I see one based on his history and achievements. Based on their history, Oyinbo people call people like Orunmila and Ifa polymaths. There's a reason they invented a special term for such people, as distinct from average people. Of course, you can doubt the history of Orunmila and Ifa but consider stories and tales about Pythagoras and Aristotle real. |

Eunoiaa:Lols, it doesn't have to be in a regalia. If a person has patrons or ties at the other side, they'll always reach out to them in dreams or trances unless the person cuts them off. If a person cuts off key connections in their life, they'll be weak and vulnerable. That's why some people don't amount to anything here or don't live long. 1 Like |

Eunoiaa:One of the ways for an African to discover themselves is to get close to their roots. It's always good to know the history of the deities worshipped in your lineage/family. Those deities are your patrons/support system. Some of those gifted people like Taylor Swift and those highly highly successful people you mentioned before have strong patrons at the other side, who provide them with information and guidance/protection that gives such people an edge here. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 11:59pm On Feb 03 |
Eunoiaa:Lols, I understand you perfectly. Lols, about the highlighted, that's your own view. Humans worship their fellow humans every time. Good examples are the religious people worshipping Allah and Yahweh. Those are also human beings as well claiming God. Na why atheists and agnostics no dey rate those gods because their souls are in the same, or almost the same, hierarchy. Reincarnation is the reason behind the great success of stars like Taylor Swift. It's like a goddess like Osun or Gaia reincarnating today, they'll be among the most powerful or successful people on this planet because of the vast experience and knowledge they've accumulated in their past lives and the key connections they've built over those periods. These aren't your average people, man pass man, and woman pass woman Sometimes, it's simply their connections that give them an edge over the majority. Some of them have powerful patrons at the other side. |

Unlimited22:I no even dey discuss religious issues often on Nairaland again. To me, that's like beating a dead horse. If people fight from now till the next 10 years, it doesn't change the fact that the era of religions is in its twilight today on this planet. Science and technology has taken over. Away from that, Apple recently released its Vision Pro consumer headset based on spatial computing, which promises to take augmented reality (AR) to the next level. The gadget goes for over $3300 now, but hopefully, more advances will be made in the near future that'll reduce this exorbitant price so more people can afford it. Judging by its features and capabilities, the Apple Vision Pro is really a fascinating piece of tech. 2 Likes |

Eunoiaa:There's nothing wrong with the topic IMO. But you don fight with every guy on this thread. Na the issue be that. You don't have to fight with every guy on Nairaland to drive home your point. About the topic, I'm a big fan of Taylor Swift. If we're still in the era of religion, people will be worshipping her as a goddess. But we're in the twilight of that era now. She's a goddess. Some people are just fortunate in this life. They'll reincarnate multiple times on Earth at different eras and would achieve great feats each time and be worshipped or revered as a god or goddess. If any of these goddesses Isese traditionalists worship reincarnate, they'd be celebrated and revered the way millions regard Taylor Swift today. Human souls have hierarchies when they manifest physically on Earth, and highly successful people like Taylor Swift are usually advanced souls and are often reincarnated people. The fact is, almost all the successful people in all areas of human endeavor, such as music, sports, science, and many others, are reincarnated people who had existed in the past eras. To achieve great success in their current life and become a star, most of them are simply tapping into the knowledge and experience they've accumulated in their past lives and connections they've made over such periods. To become great in life, it's important one discovers oneself. Parenting also plays a very vital role. |

Broja, loaned to Fulham on deadline day, won't be missed. Relying on him and Jackson to lead our attack this season shows the extent Boli has mismanaged this club within the short period he acquired it. If the boys give their all, we can still make top 6 this season. Though with Poch at the helm, that possibility looks very slim. |

"This structure is one of my compositions at the Akodi Orisa in Ile Ife. This is not the way we were taught to make art. We were taught that the ways of our ancestors are evil and that our forebears were devil worshippers. Our professors taught us to imitate western ways of making art. The images that our ancestors produced were called primitive and idols. We were instructed at the universities to focus on the west as the center of our creative activities. Our professors, poor colonized beings, made us into colonized artists who studied Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Caravaggio, Bernini, Van Gogh, and other great artists of the west as our models. But it is important for us to liberate ourselves from the colonial mentality that makes it impossible to grow, to escape our poverty mentality, and flourish. It is important to decolonize our minds. How do we do this? There are many paths leading to the market place. This is what i advocate: we must reconsider everything we were taught from the day we were born, up to this moment. First, we must understand that the denial of our colonial status is the first symptom of being a colonized mind. We must constantly ask ourselves this question: how do I decolonize my mind? We must move forward by studying the ways of our ancestors and not just the ways of those who came to our land to conquer, dominate and exploit us. The west will not deliver us from our poverty because it is not in the interest of the west to liberate us from their exploitation. The west regards us as a gold mine to excavate and pillage. But we must not submit to their exploitation any longer. We must unlearn everything the west has taught us, and relearn the ways of our forebears to discover who we are and where we want to be. Look around, and wake up. The backwardness that holds us down is located in our blind aping of the western "civilization," which is like a butterfly that a child daily chases, and will never catch. This installation is a homage to our ancestors. It is inside a temple I constructed in Ile Ife, called the Akodi Orisa. I know many of our people would find the construction strange because they have been brainwashed to look down on ancestral forms of inspiration and are already attracted to the shiny things of the west. It will take a long time to decolonize our minds. But we are on this long journey, one step after another. More to follow on this topic." — Prof Moyo Okediji 1 Like

Quote of the day “…Heisenberg took classical and quantum mechanics both to be examples of closed theories. A closed theory, for Heisenberg, is one that is “perfectly accurate within its domain” and “correct for all time.” This notion of a closed theory had a profound impact on his understanding of theory change. Heisenberg believed that the elements of a closed theory exhibit such a tight interconnectedness that not a single concept can be changed without destroying the whole system. This means that theory change cannot happen gradually, but rather must occur all at once, by means of an “intellectual jump” that makes a “radical break” with the theories that had come before. Although Dirac never uses the term, his own views of classical and quantum mechanics can be fruitfully understood as a rival account, namely, one of “open theories.” He argues that even the most well-established parts of quantum theory are open to future revision. Instead of viewing classical mechanics as a theory that had been replaced, he saw it as a theory that should continue to be developed, modified, and extended. He took no part of physics to be a permanent achievement, correct for all time. Dirac's view of theories as open also had an effect on his account of theory change. Where Heisenberg argued for wholesale change, Dirac sought piecemeal modifications; where Heisenberg believed that quantum theory had to make a sharp break with classical mechanics, Dirac believed that there was a deep structural continuity between these theories that should be exploited. A juxtaposition of these two thinkers not only brings us to a deeper understanding of their philosophical views, but also promises to shed new light on current debates over reductionism and the nature of theory change.” – Alisa Bokulich 1 Like
