Who's going to enforce the minimum wage? Is it the government that is always complaining that it is broke? Is it private companies who must justify wages with declining income and the challenging economy? Even if you are successful at pressuring private companies to pay such wages, what stops them from passing the costs to consumers who are also consumers of their products and services? In short, increasing wages without increasing profits is a fool's errand.....Ofutufete! |

Konquest: Lyft can only be held responsible here if the incident was reported, there is little evidence against Lyft especially if they can show that the trip ended hours before the incident occured. Lyft can't be held responsible for what their drivers do OFF trip! That's why their drivers are contractors not employees! 2 Likes 1 Share |

eyinjuege: You stated 4000 as if that means anything, 4000 out of 40 million rides is what? About 0.01%, Lyft authorized over 40 million rides per year in the USA alone, so because of 0.01% chance of something bad happening, all accusations should be believed? You see why evidence is very crucial in cases like this! 1 Like |

Konquest: Did you read at all? Paternity test already confirms the father, I'm guessing the guy is a bum hence the bigger money maker is going after the rideshare company. 1 Like |

mundi111: No you're not comprehending, you're justifying October 7th because you feel Hamas is fighting against injustice, so using that same ideology, Biafrans could also claim the same thing. Don't you see how ridiculous that sounds? You want to fight injustice with violence and expect peace? No be juju be that! 1 Like |

mundi111: So according to you, if Biafrans should come into any Nigerian state and start kpaing people, they're justified becuase they've been marginalized and abused over the years? Violence begets violence right? So nobody should cry genocide, make all parties continue firing one another and let's see how it ends! 1 Like |

This would only be practicable if eviction laws are also updated! Failure to pay on the due date attracts 10% late fee and failure to pay 7 days after due date allows for automatic eviction with just one paperwork at the court. This is how it is done abroad and everyone is satisfied. 2 Likes |

This might actually be the best thing for Nigeria.......If Tinubu is not ready to contest in 2027, he might just deliberately sabotage APC and give chance to a wildcard in 2027. Either way, I know Nigerians won't vote for the current VP hence WIN WIN! 2 Likes |

COMPAQ: Their gutters are not left opened like 9ja......That's a forward thinking country that has its priorities straight, it does not leave anything to chance knowing fully well people stubborn and many are roaming mad! |

stampo: So our government thinks it is smarter than the U.S govt? Even UAE are gradually phasing it out by introducing alternatives but 9ja everything is done abruptly! Anyways anything that amplifies the suffering of the people is always the main aim of the Nigerian governemnt so we need not be SHOCKED! 1 Like |

Now compare a 20% growth of a Nigerian stock to a 10% growth of a U.S based stock, now tell me which one would be considered world's best according to the current exchange rate. Let's stop celebrating mediocrity, a 20% growth in stocks should be weighted against inflation and the country's current FX rate, like someone said earlier, all these propagandas won't work much longer! 6 Likes 1 Share |

Those advising the OP to clean her up and live with it, you people are delulu! Someone described his wife with such disdain and irritation yet you expect him to magically turn those feelings into love? Una dey craze! We've seen men who genuinely love their wife end up maltreating her, how much would it take for this guy to eventually turn the disgust into an excuse to emotionally and physically harm her? OP get a divorce, your mama go dey okay, the girl go dey okay....You sef wa wa alright! 11 Likes 1 Share |

Very hard decision in this period of renewed shege but this single act could be the best thing to ever happen to the boy! Same people condemning her would condemn her more when the son is shown on Instablog being paraded by EFCC. If the money is legit, he can show mama how he made it with enough evidence ![]() ![]() |

callmevirus: You're still deceiving yourself, majority of the people who won the election for Tinubu are not online and most definitely not on Nairaland. Until true opposition is able to reach these people una still DEY PLAY! Good or bad, these people will always pick the candidate that resonates most with them aka empty promises! |

BreconHills: Good analysis but you're mistaken! Personal truth does not have to be factual to the public but to the person making the claim. Example, you grew up in Mushin, saw people addicted to weed and so on, if tomorrow you said your personal truth is that weed is bad......Public facts might disagree with you but your personal truth still remains, you lived it, witnessed it and hence it is your TRUTH! Even the example of the nurse and passenger still remains their personal truth abeit extreme, it is still their belief! It can be formed through experience, delusions etc. but it is still theirs. |

People hold elaborate weddings, go to church and take the oath for better or worse, they enjoy the better but protest vehemently against the worst! This situation is a case of a chronic gambler struggling with addiction, there's no sign of violence just a man that you knew was a gambler and you married him anyways, now you're acting all new as if his behavior is strange to you. Now you want to leave him, take his offspring and leave him in a state where he's even more susceptible to his gambling demons.....Women! Let me shock you some more, if this guy actually hammered from his gambling, I can confidently say that you wouldn't have problem with it, you wouldn't see it as a bad role model for your child and that in itself says a lot! Now with that said, leaving him is probably the best solution for this situation. It will either break or make him! Since rehabilitation is a foreign concept to most Nigerians, the man must be baptized through trials and tribulations, there's simply no other way! He must hit rock bottom before iyanu can shele! 2 Likes |

airsaylongcome: That's right, at the end of the day, the owner must balance the cost and effect between people like you who would say bye bye and the risk of being shutdown again by a host or other regulatory body. |

airsaylongcome: I write scripts and develop algorithms for a living, I can easily detect randomized MAC, VPN, any solution is better than the rubbish that exists now. My preference and the easier solution would be to require multi factor authentication for all users. Your Nairaland account is tied to your phone number, your phone number can never be a virtual or pseudo phone number(Google voice) but an actual number tied to a device but like you said it affects user base. Ultimately, where there's a will, there's a way......The only person that can give a definite answer is Seun! Only he can say Niaraland is bringing so so in terms or frevenue and he's willing to spend so and so to sanitize it and protect it from trolls and spammers! You & I can argue all day but the ball's in his court! |

airsaylongcome: Subreds are part of reddit hence I maintain my stance, there is some type of limitation. Further it is really easy to validate based on Ip address tied to a MAC address, the intention here is to limit bots/spammers and make the ban system more effective, if the system detects more than one registeration from a MAC address within a month, that address should be flagged and suspended, new accounts should be limited from sensitive forums like politics and religion, this will effectively demoralize Nairaland trolls......If Nairaland is to survive in this new age, it must combat this problem through technology and innovation! 1 Like |

airsaylongcome: Yes they do, Reddit for example, you are restricted from certian activities based on your registeration date and reputation. In fact certain subs can limit you based on other criterias. Verification is not just at time of registeration but an on-going process. The single most effective solution for Nairaland is to tie each account to a verified phone number and an I.P. address, it is fairly simple to do and will reduce the spammers and abusers down to an acceptable level. 1 Like |

It burst my brain that some people are still so clueless how certain things work! Why would you travel from the USA and decide to do a cross country tour of Africa via road, ALL ALONE? Being a professor, surely he knew of current events and how dangerous things are right now, I sincerely believe the false sense of security and entitlement provided abroad made you think the same applies in Africa especially in Nigeria......Joker! This is someone's grandfather, someone should have hinted him on just how bad of an idea this was, even those of us who were raised to be street smart still encounter difficulties when traveling to Nigeria not to talk of Professor dingbat that does not realize we have known and unknown gunmen in Nigeria, the known ones are the police and the unknown ones are the others......JI MA SUN! 4 Likes |

Oluwatobiloba07: Again you're daft! You're a corper arguing with someone that served almost 15 years ago, you see say you're mental? Which kind temptation you wan face wey we never faced before? Some of us live in a civilized country and the first thing they teach you about underaged victims is that the law will always expect the adult to be the voice of reason! Your excuses are just lame and foolish, temptation, what she's wearing blah blah blah.....Don't worry you'll soon be dropping the soap in the slammer, continue! 2 Likes |

Oluwatobiloba07: I'll tell you how you cope......When you think about the prison sentence and the damage to your reputation, that should be incentive enough......Of course since you live in a zoo country, the law is very slow to catch up or care but if na sane country, you would eventually meet your waterloo either via the law or a parent with 9mm aiming for the middle of your head! 4 Likes

KingOfAmebo: Followers that have the power to overthrow a leader, those ones are the ones you want to completely influence? E.g. passing the budget without the SUV for the lawmakers, you want to start a riot? It is easy to hide behind a keyboard and fantasize about theories but practical fit run you wotowoto.....When the country is serious for true change, it will come via a bloody revolution, for now make we all DEY PLAY! |
