If specifications are averagely the same (as is this case) I'll always go for the smaller (except if you have eye problem, sorry to say). Smaller support mobility and more compact to reduce damage due to fall. CD room is not an added advantage in this era where we deal more with USB drive and cloud storage. touch screen is a go. Elite book all the way. But if you have eye issue go for the other because in programming, you'll still split screen on the small elite book.

Thanks for your view, I don't have eye problem just that I love big screen.
I'm already in love with the eliteBook, so portable with screen touch, sim slot and keyboard light, and very new compared to the HP pavilion.
I'm just scared if there is something in it that wont support or make programming difficult.
