Politics / Kogi Deputy Gov Visits Presidential Villa, Speaks On Face-off With Gov. Bello by abu12: 8:01am On Jul 27, 2019
https://kogireports.com/n819-7m-unpaid-allowances-kogi-deputy-gov-visits-presidential-villa-speaks-on-face-off-with-gov-bello/

The Presidency on Friday summoned the Kogi State Deputy
Governor, Simon Achuba, to the Presidential Villa, over the
ongoing misunderstanding between him and the governor,
Yahaya Bello.

Mr Achuba had complained that Mr Bello deliberately denied
him his accumulated entitlements amounting to N819.7
million, and issued an ultimatum to the state government for
the payment of the said amount.

According to him, the amount comprises travel allowances,
hotel bills, outstanding monthly imprest, as well as
allowances and salaries.

The deputy governor, who met with the Chief of Staff to the
President, Abba Kyari, behind closed doors, did not reveal
details of the deliberation when asked by anxious State
House correspondents.

He, however, revealed that discussions were ongoing to
resolve the ‘problems’ between him and the state governor
who, he said, was responsible for the stoppage of his
allowances for the past two years.

“Well, it is a private discussion in relation to my office. From
my discussions with him, there is hope that all the issues
will be resolved. With God, all things are possible,’’ he said.

On how he has been ‘coping’ as deputy governor without
allowances and imprest in the past two years, Mr Achuba
said: “Well, you know in life what sustains a man is God.So
if your hope is in God, you will be very much alive.
“If you have money and don’t have God, you will be living
like a dead person. But if you have God you can live, He is
the one who provides to man.

“So, if one source closes, God opens another source for you
to live. Supposing I was not a Deputy Governor, won’t I be
alive?”

On whether he will support or contest against Mr Bello, who
has since indicated interest in the governorship election
slated for November 16, the deputy governor ruled out the
possibility of doing that because of what he described as
`unfair treatment’ being meted against him by his boss.

This whole tribunal matter is just a waste of time.

First they brought a witness that said he was seeing his statement for the first time. Now we have two witnesses who do not have anything to back up their claims.

How on earth can atiku beat buhari in kastina? Even Atiku knows that's impossible.
Ok show us where you got the figures from, now they forgot the paper at home cheesy.

These guys are either not prepared or they just want to waste everyone's time

Atiku is only buying time with this tribunal case, to remains relevant in politics till 2023. he know he lost the election.

this is the day obasanjo don't want to recognised, he see
himself as Father of democracy. he never want anyone to
honor his fellow countryman MKO Abiola above him. obj
believed he is the hero of democracy, been that, he is the first
military head of state to handover power to a civilian ruled
and the first civilian - civilian transition government in Nigeria.
Reason why he is against buhari government and tinubu.

Politics / 9 Months Unpaid Salary: Kogi Judiciary Director Dies by abu12: 11:10am On Mar 27, 2019
There is palpable tension in Kogi State as a
result of the death of one of the directors
working in the State judiciary.

Mr. Zekery Aguye, a Magistrate and Deputy
Chief Registrar (Litigation), died after losing
the battle to prostate cancer.
He died at the National Hospital, Abuja,
where he was initially being treated before
he was forced to discontinue the treatment
due to his inability to offset his medical
bills.

Asked to confirm the news of the death, the
Chief Registrar of the High Court, Mr Yahaya
Adamu, who was practically crestfallen,
narrated the pathetic and unfortunate
circumstances that led to the death of the
director whom he described as one of the
best hands in the state judiciary.

“I am very sorry to say that even as we
subscribe to the will of Almighty Allah, who
gives and takes life, you and I know certainly
that sometimes there are deaths that are
avoidable. In this particular one, we feel it
may have been further delayed if we had
continued to manage his ailment as we were
doing in the past before the judiciary was
financially grounded.”

Pressed to expatiate further, he said the
battle over Mr. Aguye’s life started since two
years ago when he was diagnosed of the
disease.

He said with quick appropriate response and
the concerted attention of the family and
the judiciary, the deceased received the
right and necessary medical treatment.
According to him, he was taken to the
National Hospital where he was treated to
the extent that he even started driving his
car by himself having survived the critical
period of the illness that also affected his
spine.

“You see, when it all started, we thought it
was one of those usual ailments. But when
it became obvious that he needed to be
handled by specialists we headed for the
National Hospital. You will agree with me
that treatment there’s highly capital
intensive. So, in conjunction with the family
and other well-wishers, he was revived to
Allah’s glory.

“He was subsequently placed on drugs and
periodic examinations by the hospital which
we consistently complied with. This process
costs between 400,000 and 500,000
thousand Naira monthly, depending on the
result of the tests. By the grace of God and
with the cooperation of the family and
others we were coping with the management
of the illness.

“However, we started having problems with
his treatment as from the middle of last
year when Kogi State Judiciary started
facing funding crises. At this point, his
salary, allowances and even the little
assistance the judiciary was giving him
ceased to come. The care suddenly became
the exclusive responsibility of the wife and
the family alone.

“You’ll surely agree with me that couple with
the children’s demands, it will be difficult for
the wife to bear this enormous burden. As a
matter of fact, before he finally gave up the
ghost, he was withdrawn from the National
Hospital for lack of fund! It’s at the critical
point of his death that he was rushed back
to the hospital by which time, it was already
too late.

“So I will like to use this medium to ask well-
meaning Nigerians to plead with His
Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, to save
Kogi judiciary and the state from similar
calamities by releasing the judiciary funds
so we can pay the nine months we are
owing our workers. As I speak with you,
many others are hospitalized, their children
withdrawn from schools and some even
homeless resulting from tenancy problems
with their respective landlords” the Chief
Registrar added.

Politics / Cleric Appeals To Kogi Govt. To Pay Late Pius Adesanmi’s Mother’s Gratuity by abu12: 10:42am On Mar 27, 2019
Rev. Fr. (Dr) Kunle James, of the St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Isanlu, where the late

pension of the deceased mother’s, Mrs Lois

others on board, died in the ill-fated
Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 on Sunday

to newsmen after a Memorial Mass held in
honour of the late Prof. Adesanmi, at St.
Joseph Catholic Church, in his home town in
Itedo-Ijowa, Isanlu, Yagba East, LGA, Kogi
State.

James said that the greatest tribute and
major honour the state government could
give tothe late scholar, was to pay his
mother’s gratuity and pension.

“The government has said so many great
things about the late professor, but we are
appealing to the government to pay his
mother’s pension and gratuity,” the cleric
restated.

He described the late professor, as a very
”fearless, courageous and highly intelligent
legend.”

“Apart from the fact that Pius was highly
intelligent, he was very courageous, fearless
and was ready to take risk not minding its
consequence.
