Descent fuel economy in I4 models(21 mpg or 13.5ltrs/100km in city driving),reliable and spacious.
Downs.
Engine mounts tend to max out,but that's when roads are very bad. Brakes are a bit soft,and i don't like soft brake pedals,but of course that's subjective. Can't fit full size tires in the trunk,radio problem(not functional currently),and roof cloth will come off eventually.
Over all its a nice car with very affordable spare parts

Never driven one ,but I'm pretty sure its a corolla in the form of a hatch. Reliability is very good,fuel economy is very good,space? not bad,and our mechanics know it quite well too.
personally i find it a bit ugly

to a website managed by people. The experience of someone driving those cars in Europe
and USA with better roads will not be the same experience with Nigeria roads.

You don't expect me to take advice for such cars from those in USA and Europe knowing
fully well that our environment is different.

By the way, Google is not a human being. The answers Google provide you in search engine
results where provided by human beings and not Google. Nairaland is a good platform to hear
from those with first hand experience of these cars.

A friend just saw a passat at a dealer for a great price but is was a lot cheaper at other dealerships so why will they sell it cheap if nothing is wrong with it.

If someone has a matrix, and golf at same price will EOD double check on the Honda because it offers more value

Probably one of the reason it's wise to check the car with a specialist mech before buying. Scanning will also be beneficial.

although am enjoying the ride(Lexus es330) but the cost of maintenance is high for me.

When the cost of maintaining a car becomes so high, I consider it a liability. I have done
some research before concluding on any of these 3 cars.

Op, since you have confined your choice to those 3, I will advice you go for the matrix. Mind you, I am not a member of the Toyota crew. I am a Benz person. I will leave the golf out because it has aluminum plate at the bottom of the engine which is prone to damage on bumpy roads. Also I heard some of them are plagued by electrical issues. I have driven the EOD a couple of times and I didn't enjoy it. The ride wasn't smooth (my opinion though). Anyway like someone said above, go with a specialist and scanner. Test drive those cars and get the feeling.

For me, I would say Obiano should continue based on his performance but I want Osita Chidoka to lead Anambra in the future.

He also possess high level intelligence with 21st century ideas. I have been following him for 3 years. But the Nigeria system does not support competence.
