Ok the bottom line is that those of you saying the op does not need to pay his tithes are in the same shoes, you owe your tithe. Denying God his tithe is robbing him. Tithe, offering, arms giving are different practices that we as Christians must do. As true Christians, you must help the needy and the poor, you must pay your tithes, you must give your offerings too. May God bless you all. I rest my case

how has he robbed God?
tithe means food that you give to the poor
if you think I'm lying read Deuteronomy 14:24-29

Ok let's start from the scratch.

What is tithe?

A tithe (/ˈtaɪð/; from Old English: teogoþa "tenth"wink is a one-tenth part of something, paid as a contribution to a religious organization or compulsory tax to government.

Did the op set the money aside at first to give to the poor? What was the original motive behind the keeping of the money?

You definitely didn't read what the op wrote, kindly go back and do

as expected . U jump from the topic line to another...what is Gods house..... Was it written that bring it to the church?? It says storehouse..and storehouse can be anywhere where Gods name is place...to the beggar whom the op helped that venue automatically became a storehouse for him becus he got somtin from it...and if the op prayed with him and called Gods name den Gods name is placed there...therefore the op gave his tithes to a beggar at Gods storehouse.....dont let the bible confuse you....leave that malachi and read other passages for a better understanding..not only malachi....

So I should leave that Malachi lmao. Between what is the instruction in the same Deuteronomy you have been quoting? The person who was instructed to use it to buy anything is whom the storehouse is far away from. As you can see again obedience is better than sacrifice. The so called storehouse is not just anywhere but a designated place. Read and understand bro

Most of you are just missing the point here. The op set the money aside solely to take to the house of God to pay his tithe. And then something of an emergency comes up, and he ends up using the money for it. Fine what he did was good in the sight of God, but the fact remains that he still owes his tithe.

For example you are given money to pay your school fee, you used the money to pay for your departmental fee, hello! You still owe your school fee. Simple

okay dont twist the bible now...it dint just say the levites buh also includes the fatherless. Widows, poor , needy ,stranger....so if our tithes are also meant for these people then why did you say the op still owes God his tithes? Whereas he has given it to a category of people in the list which are the beggars? He gives his tithes to the church for maintenances all these years and decides to give to a beggar today and that means he hasnt paid his tithe??......admit it dear... The op has paid tithe and God is probably glad over it and u are here saying him dy owe God....

Obedience is better than sacrifice. Simple Obedience bring your tithe to Gods house. If you want to play your card this way then it is disobedience.

wine food and bla bla.. If its too heavy den transfer it to money den bring it to where Gods name is placed. Den use the money for what your soul lust after...for wine , for food, for oxen or whatever thy soul desireth... Thats what my king james says..

Good according to Malachi 3:10 it says bring every tithe into my house that their may be good in my house.

The levites where not given any inheritance, they are full time workers in the temple. The tithes brought to the house of God is what is being used to cater for them and the poor and to also maintain the church.

Giving to the needy is far more different from paying of tithe.
There are blessings that come from them separately.

Double dose of blessing is when you practice the two!

Ask yourself this would you rather save someones life than pay your tithe.
You have allocated your money for the month and all you have left is your tithe you encounter and accident victim do you use that tithe to save the person or you say to him it is well with you and dance with your tithe to the altar??

Lord when did i see you naked and gave you clothes...hungry and gave you food?

Whatsover you do to the least of my brothers that you do onto me.

You are missing the point. No one is saying what the op did is not good. We are just pointing out that he still owes his tithe to God simple. We all do good to the poor in our own way. But nothing should come between the tithe you owe to God and your obligation to the needy. They are two different things.

its obvious u hav gone out of point......even the bible that says pluck out ur eye doesnt mean you shud pluck it off in reality... If the bible says we shud lay it at the gates where the needy usually are , den i guess u know what that means.. It means carry it to where the needy are and call on the name of God and that wud be Gods storehouse becus the needy has gotten somtin from there.... Storehouse isnt compulsory to be the church.. As the church can be Gods store house so can an orphanage home be Gods store house......deut say where the name of thy lord is placed ... I hope i hav not confused you dear...

since it s for God to judge, you guys should just leave whoever that decided to pay his tithe anyhow they like to God the same way you leave God to judge ur pastors on whatever they do with ur tithes.
so y the fuss, y say he is wrong, as if he committed a sin or are u guys d judge.
Even though religion is helpful in some ways but I know this world would be better without religion.

By the way why are you giving a blind eye towards what is written in deut 14 which clearly states that we shud lay our tithes at the gates so the poor and needy wud feast on it and be satisfied and God would bless us.. Are you countering Gods word...?..the op clearly did what that passage says so are you saying God doesnt know the diff btw alms giving and tithe befor he clearly told us to give the poor needy and widows our tithes Until you can counter that passage and not close your eyes towards it den the op remains right accordin to Gods word..if u think i didnt understand the bible passage den do well to explain it... We shud all wise up... Humanity is needed in dis country,...some pastors claim dat they giv out the tithe to the poor and needy... So whats wrong if i do that by myself.....??

Oga I don't know why you find it hard to read your bible. Open it. And get understanding and. Jesus christ said that whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me. Is Jesus not God again? And secondly, read this

Deuteronomy 14:22. "You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.
23. And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.
24. But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you,
25. then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses.
26. And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.
27. You shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no part nor inheritance with you.
28. "At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates.
29. And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

bible does not ask you to bring your tithe to the church. Malachi mentioned 'store house'. Is church a store house? Abraham was the first payer of tithe in Bible record. He paid his own to Melchizedek. Don't be deceived by our modern day preachers who use that to enrich themselves or build private universities that are unaffordable to the church members. Tithe ain't a compulsory obligation after all. It is part of the old law. He did the right th

Yes I said it is mandatory, but no one should be pushed around into doing what is right. If you pay your tithe good of you and if you don't good of you. God is the judge.

It is mandatory to pay your tithe. As Laid down by God and backed up by Jesus. It is the tithe the church uses in their missionary works. If you feel your pastors are cheating and deceiving you or even robbing you, you can find another church. Individuals should not be forced out compelled to pay tithe. It is between you and God, if you like pay and if you like don't pay.

It was a very stressful week for me as it involved lots of travels and all. So its a Saturday and I was paid for a project I did for the month past.

Going by my tired nature, I knew deep down me that there was no way I could have made it to church the next day and I was hell bent on paying my tithe because of the inherent blessings therein and the last thing on my mind would be to give it to my nebor to pay it for me. (The guy broke and besides I didn't want him to start calculating my take-home (Na sharp man). And I knew deep down that if I keep the money till the next time I would be in church, I was sure I would spend it. (God have mercy on me sha)

So I decided even before getting home to package my tithe and while in the market on a shopping spree I package my tithe and dropped it in the plate of an old beggar. (A mulsim beggar precisely)

Instantly, I saw 50 shades of shocks on her face as she looked at me for a few seconds and I could read her facials more like "For this Buharia?" Lols. And before I disappeared into the crowd, I could see/read her lips mutter prayers pointing towards me. And deep down, I felt blessed and fulfilled.

But was I wrong to have given my 10percent to a beggar instead of to the alter?

Opinions please.

You have done the right thing at the wrong time.... Your tithe is your tithe, it is different from offering... If you have set a sum of money aside as tithe then you owe that to God and nothing should stop you from paying it. If you gave a beggar the tithe you already purpose in your heart to give then you are robbing God for not giving it. It's not bad to give to beggars but not your tithe.

Well then, welcome to the 21st century beloved ancient one. You may have learned how to use the internet, but there's still much to catch up to. Religion / Evolution- Geological Record Does Not Support Evolution. by adjoviomole(m): 11:22am On Oct 07, 2017
As we all know that evolution depends almost wholly upon fossils being found in chronological order in the layers of the soil, in mountains and deep in the earth. The simplest forms of life corals and starfish are said to be in the lowest and oldest layers of the earth, and the more complete forms-bears, elephants camels - are found in the highest or youngest layers.... In China, Norway, Scotland, Newyork, Georgia, idaho, etc the supposed - to - be old fossils are in the new layers and the new fossils are in the old layers.... A prominent geologist .. Sir Roderick Murchison said, "I know as much of nature in her geologic ages as any living man, and I fearlessly say that our geologic record does not afford one syllable of evidence in support of Darwin's theory.

This is the foundation of evolution and the foundation itself is false. Everything about evolution is therefore false...
