GenBuhari:

Sorry, our debts are not cleared.
Nigeria is not debt free - check you facts.
OBJ paid off the debt to Paris Club to appease / impress his western friends/ supporters. That is only a small part of Nigeria's debt.

Regarding foreign reserves, how can  we be sure it really exists?, given the dishonesty OBJ showed over the missing $16bn for power.

For the simple fact that you made reference to the $16bn for power I can now confirm that you are not at home with facts and as such arguing this will be a huge waste of my time.

The facts have been stated over and over again as regards the $16bn so if in your hatred for OBJ you still continue to state it as a fact then Nigeria will be better off with people like you not having any say in issues concerning Nigeria and Nigerians.

GenBuhari:

In any case, how are we to be sure (given OBJ's dishonesty) that the foreign reserve exists? was it ever independently confirmed?
OBJ never repaid the national debt!! We are still in debt today thanks to IBB and his friend OBJ who have mortgaged our country's future.

Arguing with facts may make it impossible for people to take you serious.

The issue of the foreign reserve is clear and that our debts were cleared is also not in doubt.

Blame OBJ for his misdeeds but do not attempt to rubbish any achievements otherwise you will be seen as someone that is bent on disparaging him.

If anyone can handle it, we would like 2 know if you can run a demo version for it for quality assurance. Get in touch wit me on 08138222136

You understand the project, you know the requirements and features you want on the website so if you don't provide necessary information how do you expect anyone to say yes or no depending on the complexity or otherwise of the project?

If you don't want to run into problems then make the requirements clear so that those who respond will have a basis for doing so.

Even though I can develop anything anyhow you want it developed I never ever do free demos and I always advice other serious programmers not to do so too.

I hope that article would show is support for getting rid of hand-cutting, which he used explicitly as an example of Sharia's beauty in the article the one posted on NL. In other cases, your hear say might have worked for me, but not in this context.

Please, search online for his articles as I won't be doing that for you. Maybe, others may reproduce the article here for you sha.

Sanusi has severally written against some of the practices of Sharia in the past. He supported and defended the woman that was sentenced to death in Katsina (I think) a couple of years ago.

People should stop making unnecessary assumptions and jumping into conclusions.
Politics / Re: Ojukwu's Memoirs In The Offing - Bianca by Afam(m): 5:19am On Apr 18, 2010
A few reminders

1. You don't attack anyone in war situation and then fight the war in your backyard. That is why Biafra never attacked Nigeria and Biafra was attacked by Nigeria so people should stop talking about Ojukwu leading anyone to war. On the contrary, Ojukwu defended the Easterners from unwarranted killings by other Nigerians. Same war Iraq was attacked and the war was fought there and not in the US is the same way Biafra fought a war of survival.

2. Some people here who claim to be Igbos and yet believe that Ojukwu caused more problems for the Igbos should understand that probably the only reason they were not killed or even their parents was that Ojukwu chose to fight back when attacked instead of surrendering without fighting. Even with the deaths recorded the dignity of the Easterners became established and that is why no ethnic group or region kills them at will as they used to before as they are certain that such killings will be avenged without delay. If innocent Igbos and Easterners could be massacred in peace time without any form of protection from other regions then you can imagined what would have happened if Ojukwu chose not to defend his people.

3. Ojukwu did not unilaterally declare Biafra, the Eastern region government did based on the house of assembly's resolution and the name Biafra was suggested by an Ijaw man, not an Igbo man so it was neither an Ojukwu's project nor an Igbo project but an Eastern region's project.

4. Ojukwu left Biafra when he did to facilitate surrender as there was no way Biafra would have surrendered while he was around without people continuing the fight in other ways. If Ojukwu had died or captured and killed by the Nigerian army then I can assure you that the Nigerian Biafran war wouldn't have been the only war in recent history that ended without further attacks from the defeated party as is common all around us. So, Ojukwu's decision to leave the scene was the most reasonable option and by doing that a lot of lives were saved and the war was not prolonged.

5. That the Igbos lived in other parts of Nigeria before the war and after the war in spite of the massacres and killing of innocent men, women and children using starvation as a tool shows more than anything that the Igbos are not afraid of competition or survival in any part of Nigeria. All the Igbos demand for are justice, fair play, peace and security. The Igbos will always hold their own in any given endeavor.

6. Igbos are republicans and they usually do not listen to any particular political leader for any reason whatsoever. But in Ojukwu for once in its history the Igbos have come to respect, cherish and applaud this man for his principled stand in defense of his people even when he risked all his father had considering the fact that his father was the first millionaire in the region and any war would affect his wealth more than any other person but he saw the need to protect and defend his people as more important task when compared to defending his wealth as a lot of our politicians do today.

7. For those that brag about producing the presidents and vice presidents since after the war my questions are

a) Why is that the South East has the lowest poverty index in Nigeria?
b) Why is it that the South East (according to JAMB statistics) leads other regions in enrollment into our higher institutions in spite of the typical "Igbos are traders" mantra?

When things are done right like dredging of the River Niger and citing of international airports in the South East are completed we shall know the contribution of the Igbos to states where they transit goods from. Take away the traffic of goods from the international airports and sea ports outside South East and we will see the revenue drop and shift in activities with the attendant reduction in loss of lives on the roads by either accidents or robbers who steal what they do not have.

thanks as i wait to read from anyone soon.

The most successful websites out there are simple to use, not confusing, load faster, present information in a clear and logical manner.

Focus on these qualities and you will get a good website otherwise it could be money down the drain.

Being flashy is secondary to be being functional as people who visit your website come there to complete one task or the other and if you waste their time they may click the back button and may never come back.

This debate as been going on for a few days; did you see any comment from me? My first comment was to correct someone who wrongly stated that Ojukwu attended Eton. My second was the comment to dede1. You continue to debate with emotions and no logic; if someone disagrees with you, insults come out. I am not interested in receiving insults. Just let me be.

1. The person that referenced Eton was only caught in his lies just as he has been lying about Ojukwu, I never bothered to read the guy's post considering the quality of information on those I had the misfortune of reading in the past.

2. You are not disagreeing with me. You clearly stated that Dede1 does not like it when the truth about Ojukwu is being revealed and I asked you a direct question - Can you tell us this truth that you talk about? Or, it is imaginary?

3. You call Ojukwu a coward but exhibit worse trait and you turn around to complain when this is pointed out? Seems like hypocrisy to me.

KnowAll:

The honest truth is yes no need for electricity, except if it can be provided for the rich, the privilege classes, and the industrialist. No where in the world including benefit infested Britain or any of the welfare heavens of Western Europe provides electricity for free. If Nigeria wants to go down that line, then they should provide un-employment benefit for the poor.

The reason why NEPA went down was it was not getting enough revenue which would have subsequently lead to re-investment and expansion of their operations and secondly their officials where dishonest taking bribes from homesteads that normally required an outright disconnection. How do you re-orientate a corrupt workforce in  Power Holding Company of Nigeria when officials are still paid N12,000.00 a month as salary obviously this is a recipe for disaster.

If Jonathan pulls the power problem off this year, I am more than convinced we would be back to where we came from if a proper revenue collection initiative is not put in place.

To prove how wrong and ridiculous the statement above is let us consider this

NITEL was providing telecommunication services to Nigerians.

The quality of services was very poor, NITEL was mismanaged.

Someone like this guy would have argued that NITEL went down because Nigerians could not afford to pay for telecommunications services.

Today Nigerians pay a lot more than the poster is probably paying and we have about 50% of the whole population connected to phone lines in spite of the high cost.

Sometimes the level of reasoning some of us display here is so embarrassing that Seun should consider banning people for displaying such low level of reasoning.

While I agree that MKO is not the issue on this thread could you explain to us what the truth you are telling us about Ojukwu is? It seems this truth is an imaginary truth because all we see here are baseless accusations, crying more than the bereaved and outright lies being told about the man.

So, what is the truth about Ojukwu that your type want to tell us?

You see, no matter how hard you try you cannot hide your hatred for anything Igbo and yet again you show it here.

You call Ojukwu a coward but you display real cowardice by claiming not to hate Igbos yet any opportunity you have to comment on anything related to the Igbos you use it to support baseless accusations or outright lies. This is not just an act of cowardice but a very shameful position.

Finally he told his audience in Washinton DC , that Igbo people are going to produce the next president, all they need to do is to support Abacha regime.

Just as some people have been spreading lies that Nzeribe collected money from IBB until people provided facts and information to prove otherwise. This is another shameless lie by a desperate person.

On Saro Wiwa, yes Ojukwu made the famous statement "Good morning" to Saro Wiwa when he came to beg the Igbos to help him in his Ogoni course in Enugu and Ojukwu told him that he was just seeing what he saw a quarter century ago and that he remembered the stand Saro Wiwa took at that time so the Igbos would not help him.

Saro Wiwa went to school in the Eastern region with Eastern region's money not oil money but he championed the abandoned properties project as he was made the youngest commissioner in the newly created Rivers state. What goes around comes around so call it nemesis or karma he simply reaped what he sowed. Months later he was hanged.

One good thing about this forum is that every single attempt made to rubbish the likes of Nzeribe and Ojukwu with lies has provided opportunities for others to clarify and provide information that many of us never knew about as we have all been fed with lies and misinformation to achieve one clandestine goal or the other by the manipulators of the information.

I desire to see Nigeria more developed than the US but it remains a desire.

What is the actual population of muslims in the north? If we do have a reasonable census conducted in this country I am sure that water will find its level and a lot of issues will be clearer even to those that wrongly assume that they have the numbers to desire or demand anything.

Sharia should be limited to those areas or states with overwhelming muslim population. We have 19 states in the north and only about 12 implemented sharia out of 36 states so it is clear that the numbers don't favor such desires and never will.

Every Igbo person lose something in the biafra war. Many gave everything and paid the ultimate price. The war is very important in the Psyche of the Igbos for it define their present condition and may also define their future. When the real Igbos who sacrifice everything , were dieing for biafra, that fraud , called Ojukwu ran away to save his pathetic neck.

Since coming back from exile , Ojukwu has gain back everything he lost during the war:

The government restored his military rank in the Nigerian army, Lt-Colonel and paid him his full benefit. Ojukwu greedily collected it and even complain that it should have been General, his rank in the biafra army. One northern army officer looked at him in disgust and said, "General don't abandon their troops in the heat of a battle". Their are hundreds of thousands of former biafran soldiers dismissed from Nigerian army, who have not been paid a penny nor acknowledge by Nigerian government.

The government returned Ojukwu seized properties, the fool happily collected it. The infamous abandon properties are littered everywhere in Nigeria. Many Igbos are pained to see their properties they cannot claim back

Ojukwu is a constant visitor in aso rock, stabbing his people at the back , just to fill his own pocket. Ojukwu care about nobody except himself. He is the quintessence spare part trader, his objective is profit and lack any atom of morality.

If Ojukwu is a hero, then Igbo people will continue to wallow in political wilderness.

Put differently the writer prefers Ojukwu to reject properties his father labored to get just to satisfy the stupid people wanting him to forfeit his father's properties.

It has been stated before that Ojukwu did not abandon any troops and I wonder why the writer is comfortable with Generals in the Nigerian Army that knelt down to beg a Major or those that were crying like children just to live.

Ojukwu never cried to junior officers for his life neither did he kneel down in front of a junior officer in his life time. As a matter of fact he opposed the emergence of Gowon due to his rank and favored a Yoruba son Brig. Gen. Ogundipe to take over as the most senior army officer when Ironsi was killed.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to highlight the obvious. Facts are indeed sacred.

1. Ojukwu was never a politician but a soldier even when Biafra collapsed. The Igbos will still prefer someone like him over any politician considering the circumstances he found himself.

2. He did not run away in the heat of the battle but left the scene to allow for a surrender and to avoid humiliation of the Igbos by having Ojukwu killed or captured. This is one point that has underlined all senseless lies and hatred directed at the man.

To all those who feel serious pain that he is still alive today to see regions, ethnic groups states complain about the very things he complained about I say "Who God has blessed no man can curse" and no matter what your opinion is it will never change how the Igbos see him. WRONG!!! You cannot step up any current as long as you are stepping up the voltage.

The principle of transformer remains that either voltage or current can be stepped up and vise versa but not both.

Power in its most basic sense = voltage X current and transformer deals with turns ratio between the voltages and currents.

This nonsense must stop.

Deceit.

There are homes that not only power freezers but ACs using inverter backup systems. Just to clarify and explain that you can power anything you want to power with an inverter and a battery bank as long as you have the money to pay for the batteries and the backup system is well designed and implemented.

I have not used a generator in my office for more than 6 years now and without electricity my office shuts down and the inverter I used was built by myself and have been building for others who are ready to implement inverter backup systems in homes and offices with 100% successful deployments so far.
