There is a huge problem here with this guy's way of processing information.

How did this post

nex:

@frosbel

please put an end to this unicorn chase. When you're wrong, accept you're wrong the time and energy you put into arguing this false cause could be better utilized in discussing something else which you actually know is true.

warrant this response?

frosbel:

I am on annual leave, so I have all the time in the world, lol.  grin

But seriously this discussion has come to an end so many times, only to be resuscitated from near death by a few disgruntled chaps.

Seems there is a comprehension limited problem here.

I dare you to post your exam results here from primary school to whatever level you got to. And we are wondering why the last NECO exams had less than 2% passing the exams even with the special centers where teachers are alleged to help students in the exam halls.

In reality there is a world of difference between what you think is a fact and what is indeed a fact. Try to understand that difference.

If you believe that OBJ is a woman it does not make it a fact and that is how incoherent your ramblings here appear ro any objective reader.

It is possible for you to hold opposing views as long as they make sense but it is a disaster to believe that you are right when indeed you are lost at sea here.

Unfortunately, you seem to be the only benefiting from the exchanges because people like you would go back and take corrections without even thanking those of us that are trying to cure your ignorance. A little thank you message would do just fine you know.

No worry, we go dey educate and enlighten you until you stop reasoning with your left hand. Use your brain abeg. You are no different from any religious extremist or fundamentalist out there that you criticize.

One thing is certain, you have made it crystal clear that your posts could be overlooked whenever people come across them since the thought process is fundamentally flawed and the level of reasoning very low.

I knew you were doing to self destruct and you didn't disappoint at all. Well done.

I have stated this over and over again, you don't expect to change the mindset of an ignorant and unreasonable fellow like frosbel because he lacks the capacity to process information logically and he has zero credibility and remains an unrepentant hypocrite.

Argue with him at your own risk this guy is irredeemably stupid.

People like him are a disgrace to christianity. I only hope he has a friend here who would be bold enough to advice him that on this thread he has provided enough information to show that his level of reasoning is dangerously low.

I still wonder why the forum does not ban people for displaying a high level of foolishness.

Honestly, I thought this was a done deal.

I thought it was the general consensus that
IWU IS INCOMPETENT.

How so quickly, this whole ''the environment is the problem''
or ''the politicians are the problem'' has gained currency
just baffles me.

And it is no surprise that many of his defenders have come
from the Igbo community out of some warped sense of tribal
loyalty.

For God's sake, even the Anambra elections where he beats his
chest disenfranchised a vast section of the voting public. And the
politicians by and large behaved themselves.

His incompetence is compounded by his befuddling obstinacy and
inability to admit he has got it wrong .

Perhaps if he did, he might have corrected some of the many things
they have got wrong over and over again.

Classical! Once you cannot use logic to defend a position turn it into a tribal stuff and you are good to go.

Must we turn everything into tribalism or is it impossible to see things without tribal prisms?

Am a Christian and when i saw the news, everyone of us said he is definitely Mad, and for me anyone who is ready to kill himself and a host of other innocent people in the name of of whatever religion is mad.

I think the crux of the matter here is that Frosbel have quoted a number of verses which can be said to promote or justify the killing of non-believers from the quran, but that there is nowhere in the Bible where Jesus (Christians:christ-like, Christ followers) ever advocated even the killing of enemies or non-believers. He famously said we should turn the other cheek and also pray for our enemies/persecutors. He told peter he who wields the sword will perish by the sword, and that he could call on a legion angel to fight for him, but he didn't. He even forgave those that killed him.

That is the Christian way, laid down by Jesus Christ, and evidences abound that early Christians even refused to take part in any war, either to defend themselves, the Jewish nation or the Roman Empire. In fact, it was one of the reasons why the Roman empire persecuted them.

So if any Christian or even the pope refuse to follow this noble example of Jesus, then he is not Christ-like, and has disowned the faith.

If the Quran/Mohammed  forbids the killing of non-believers, then let us know with verses, then we would know that those fanatics got it wrong, then you should probably also explain those verses frosbel quoted, that apparently shows that the killing of non-believers is justified.

Thanks for your response. I have a few questions and I will deduce answers and use them as premises to arrive at conclusions.

1. Are you a christian?

If yes, what is your holy book?

If the bible then we agree it contains both the old and the new testaments.

If the statement above is correct then we have verses that sanction the killing of others.

2. As a christian do you have a bible that is made up of just the new testament as a complete bible?

If yes, can I have the name?

During the Boko Haram issue majority of the soldiers who killed the members of that sect were muslims.

a. Did the quran tell muslims to kill other muslims?
b. Are members of the sect not muslims?

We can go on and on but the fact remains that we are twisting issues just to absolve any christian of any link to christianity whenever such a christian commits a terrible act while looking for all possible ways to tie individual acts by muslims to islam and this is very unfortunate.

A few pointers

IBB married a Igbo lady from Delta state. There are muslims who have christians are best friends and vice versa and yet people have their heads on their shoulders.

Let us stop this mindset and address issues as they come. There are Yoruba families with almost equal number of muslims and christians and the muslims have not killed their brothers and sisters as some of us would rather have us believe is the express instruction as stated in the quran.

The fact that i live outside the country does not make me any less a Nigerian than you are and neither does it mean you are currently updated on Nigerian politcs than i am.  Beyond the shores on Nigeria, there are still lots of us who monitor Nigerian politics even more than many guys at home.

And yes, when it comes to solving Nigerians problems, my views count a lot, as long as i remain a full blooded Nigerian and as long as i have stakes and families living in Nigeria.

What bothers me is the fact that you seem to believe that announcing results at polling booths takes away the headache, what about the many hundreds of Nigerians with the voting materials in their houses and ballot boxes that go missing?

What about names like "Micheal Jackson". "Bolton Wanderers" "Alex Ferguson" that we find filling our ballot boxes?

Even putting aside the many deficiencies of the Marice-Iwu led INEC, why do we really need him there after he has failed us severally in the past, so much so that many don't bother to go out and vote since it is a nation wide held belief that results are known before elections are conducted?

Why not head butt this failure of a man and appoint someone else capable of working without the fear of jeopardizing his relationship with godfathers in PDP?

This, my friend, has nothing to do with sentiments, its just pure reasoning as presented by objectivity and reality

The problem on this forum is that once issues are raised and they are successfully tackled you begin to get new questions without even acknowledging the answers provided.

Rigging of the votes takes place between the time votes are made and final results announced. As long as the results are announced at the polling booths the issue of rigging the election as regards votes casted ends. Fact. This was what happened in Anambra state and that was why no single candidate complained about rigging but about voters registers with missing or fake names and the issue of 2/3.

With the announcement of results at the polling booths settling the issue of rigging the votes casted we then focus on making sure we have an updated voters register devoid of fake names.

I am not interested in the person there. In my opinion Iwu has not done very well but this is more than Iwu right now. If Anambra state election could be used as a reference and based on that Iwu has promised that the next elections would see the results announced at the polling booth. To me this is what is needed but promising that is not enough, it should be made law and not discretionary.

So we have 3 options

1. Allow Iwu to oversee the next elections based on his promise to announce results at the polling booths. Work on the voters register.

2. Replace him with a new person who may claim that he/she was not given enough time to plan as regards the next elections assuming we see massive rigging.

3. Enshrine the "announcement of results at the polling booth" in the electoral act so that whoever is in charge would not matter anymore and then kick out Iwu or appoint anyone.

The dude is yet to oversee a free and fair election since the history of Nigerian democracy, he instead enjoys his seemingly cordial relationship with ranking members of the PDP.

I really don't see any sense of reasoning in the statements credited to some posters before me who claimed he's best for the job, if someone kept failing to deliver the people's mandate, do we allow him to continue or head butt him at the slightest opportunity?

You guys shout for a change, and here is a man who we entrust with the confidence of our votes, and right under his very eyes, our votes were stolen, and incredibly enough, you come back here and say Iwu is the best person for the job, out of a hundred and fifty million people?

Typical of Nigerians, someone was even in a hurry to blame the system, my question is who is meant to put the Electoral system in order in the first place?

Yes he did, but he also has a record as the Person whose under his watchful eyes, we had the dividends of democracy stolen from us. . . . paradoxically enough, since the "successful transfer of power" as you stated, we are yet to enjoy dividends of "Government by the People".

I honestly find it hard to believe that Nigerians clamoring for a change will still by any chance like to see Iwu as the head of the electoral system, where does the change come from then?

Are we so damn sure that if Nigeria is turned inside out and upside down, we will not find at least one man who can give us what we thirst for 10 times better than what Iwu presented us with?

Nigerians living in Nigeria are in a better position to comment on issues concerning Nigeria and based on this alone your comments will be treated as the typical comments from some of you living outside who tolerate all manner of imperfections in your host country while screaming to high heavens whenever Nigeria is mentioned.

Trust me when it comes to solving the many problems of Nigeria your views don't matter, sorry.

For the records, no one has stated that he remains the best man for the job unless you are ok with misrepresenting or twisting comments by other people.

At least I did state that anyone can deliver if the issue of announcing the results at the pooling booths can be enshrined in the electoral act instead of the chair choosing to do this at will.

Leave your sentiments on the bed when you wake up and you will see how objectivity will help you.

Iwu has a record - the first and only person to oversee the successful transfer of power from one government to another.

I prefer an Iwu that has stated that the results would be announced at the polling booths in the next elections (considering how that stopped rigging in Anambra state) to any new person that may begin a new experiment and claim that the time was short if he/she failed.

Otherwise let the law makers enshrine in the electoral act the announcement of results at the polling booths so that irrespective of the person in charge rigging would be dealt a severe blow in our politics.
Politics / Re: Is Nuhu Ribadu Really What Many Thinks He Is? Critical Examination Of Ribadu. by Afam(m): 10:24am On Apr 08, 2010
Ribadu is not a saint but he is the best anti corruption chief that we have seen in this country.

At least, we have realized that corruption could be tackled and the once powerful politicians can be investigated and tried. When Ribadu was around fraudsters relocated, politicians could not steal easily or flaunt the stolen wealth in public as they used to do, 419ners took their flashy cars to the village to avoid answering questions.

So, Ribadu is not a saint, he is not perfect, in my opinion he made some mistakes but in spite of these things he remains the best we have ever seen and may ever see considering the circumstances surrounding his tenure and the nature of opposition he faced not to talk about the risk to his life.

Ribadu is more of an asset than a liability and yes Ribadu stands tall as far as fighting corruption is concerned.

So, can we then leave out the issue of Ribadu being saint because I don't think he is and I don't think anyone is claiming he is one.
Politics / Re: Jesus Sent Me ! Calabar Arik Terrorist. (reuters} by Afam(m): 9:55am On Apr 08, 2010
I really find it difficult to understand the justification for the positions taken by some people here.

The notion that islam supports the killing of innocent people as terrorists do is insane. Even within the christiandom we have different interpretations of simple verses by different churches and as such any fundamentalist interpreting a holy book be it bible or quran and using same to justify murder of innocent people should be condemned whether the person is a christian or muslim.

The argument put forward by frosbel that as long as one cannot point out where Jesus asked anyone to kill innocent people in the bible then any act of terrorism carried out by a christian cannot be equated to an act of terrorism carried out by a fundamentalist muslim.

We must be objective if we want to successfully defend a position.

Blanket condemnation or commendation does not make sense as issues should be discussed based on the merits and demerits surrounding them at any particular point in time.

The Calabar guy stated that Jesus sent him. Now, there is no way to know if Jesus really sent him so he could be lying or telling the truth just as we don't know for sure whether most of our pastors that claim that Jesus or God told them one thing or the other are telling the truth.

However, the crux of the matter here is that quite a number of christians are quick to dismiss the actions of the Calabar guy because he is not a muslim and that is unfortunate as we cannot apply the same rule differently depending on the person involved unless we are cool with plain hypocrisy and double standards.

I have consistently maintained for over 4 or 5 years now that the participating banks and the payment gateway providers lack programmers with necessary skills to make the ATM business secure. Thus far, it seems they just deploy the ATMs with whatever default settings they come with.

Rather than get qualified and competent programmers to make these machines more secure they are removing them.

As someone asked earlier maybe one day they will ban the use of laptops or even GSM phones in a bid to reduce cyber crime.

And yet while innocent people get ripped off these providers and banks are never held accountable for the avoidable blunders.

As regards the issue of armed robbers monitoring card holders and robbing them after making withdrawals what stops the police from countering this type of crime when the issue is well defined already?
