You are deceiving yourself.

No one is protesting or wailing in Nigeria apart from Igbos, Ob1diots and B1afraud.

BTW, what has your f@ther achieved in life? Whether you like it or not, Tinubu will rule you and your household for good eight years, after which power will rotate back to the North. Then, it will go to South South. No Nyanmir1n will rule this country.

You have an option: relocate.

Politics / Labour Party House Of Assembly Aspirant Hired Thugs To Kill PDP Agent In Ebonyi by Afonja2: 7:37am On Apr 16, 2023
The Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a Labour Party House of Assembly aspirant for Ezza North Constituency, Leonard Kelechi Nwali and three others in connection with the killing of one Peter Nweke.

Nweke, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, was tortured to death by suspected political thugs during the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections in Ebonyi State.

SaharaReporters had reported that Nweke, who was chairman of PDP in Umuezeokaoha Ward in the Ezza North Local Government Area was killed while working as his party’s agent in the community.

It had been reported that two chieftains of the PDP and members of other opposition political parties were gruesomely assassinated during the last general elections in Ebonyi State, controlled by All Progressives Congress-led Governor David Umahi.

Disclosing the arrest in statement issued on Friday in Abakaliki, the State capital, the Command's Spokesperson, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, revealed that all the suspects had confessed to the crime during an interrogation.

He gave the names of other suspects as Ifeanyi Nwokpuku, Onyebuchi Chita and Aloke Obinna who were all from the same Council area.

According to the statement, the Labour Party aspirant, upon interrogation told police that he hired the other three suspects who were meant to torture the late Nweke. However, he died in the process.

The police said Nweke posed a threat to his political ambition, because of that LP candidate, had to contact one Akwasi of Umuezeoka, who spearheaded the torture that eventually resulted in the death of the PDP Chieftain.

“The second suspect, Onyebuchi Chita, of Nkomoro community, in the same local government area, confessed to have brought in the killers from Nkomoro into Ogboji community, where Peter Nweke was killed.

“The third suspect, Aloke Obinna, of Ogboji community, confessed to have given his motorcycle to one Onyebuchi Chita for escape after the incident.

“While Ifeanyi Nwokpuku, the fourth suspect, of Ogboji community in Ezza North LGA, conspired with one Sampson Nweke, who pointed Peter Nweke out to the killers.”

Onovwakpoyeya said the suspects would be arraigned at the end of investigations.

It's really funny how Tinubu failed Abuja shamefully? Does it mean his supporters are not in Abuja as in other places or because Abuja has no governor like Wike that can manipulate and change scores? Abuja result raises credibility question because it's a mini Nigeria. Tinubu was able to rig election where his evil APC structure exists but God arrested him in Abuja where it didn't work. Those calling Abuja a state should know the implications. Abuja is like a compulsory subject in school. You can't get admission to any university in Nigeria if you fail English or Math.

O'boy, you get problems o. Do you work at all? I just went through all your posts and they are all about Tinubu. You better face your job and don't give yourself unnecessary hypertension because of somebody that will be your president for the next 8 years. Na wah for you o

Politics / London Detention: British Govt Hasn’t Apologised To Me – Obi by Afonja2: 6:00pm On Apr 13, 2023
Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has denied receiving any letter of apology from the British government over his detention by immigration officials at Heathrow Airport in London.

Daily Trust had reported how Obi was detained in London over impersonation.

On Thursday, rumors started making the rounds that the British authorities have apologised.

But in a statement on Thursday, Diran Onifade Head, Obi-Datti Media, said, “We have been receiving enquiries with regards to a so called apology, purportedly issued by the British Government or any of its agencies, to our Principal Mr Peter Obi, in respect of a routine Immigration engagement with him, as he arrived London, for a brief visit, last Friday, the 7th of April.

Peter Obi’s ‘religious war’ comment: No to cover up

How Obidients ‘rescued’ Peter Obi at London airport

“We would like to state emphatically that we are not aware of any such apology, and have not issued any statement whatsoever, in that regard. While we continue to examine any dubious or political motive, on the part of the perpetrators of the identity theft, we have every confidence in the ability of the British authorities to resolve the matter, to conclusion,” Onifade said.

He said the former Anambra State Governor and the LP/PCC have since moved on from the incident and continue to be totally focused, on the legal processes before the Election Petition Tribunal towards the recovery of their mandate, which they are convinced, was overwhelmingly expressed by voters, in the Presidential election of February 25.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / The Victor Osimhen Interview by Afonja2: 4:29pm On Apr 11, 2023
Napoli's £150m striker on his love for Drogba, swapping shirts with Haaland and ending his club's 33-year wait for the Scudetto as Manchester United and Chelsea circle

- Osimhen is set to be one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer market
- Manchester United and Chelsea are among those linked with £150m striker
- Nigerian star, 24, is powering Napoli towards a long-awaited Serie A title

Victor Osimhen peers into the screen in front of him before giving a thumbs-up and a cheery wave.

It is well into the evening in Lagos but happily for Sportsmail, the Nigerian superstar has been easier to pin down than he is for the unlucky centre-backs tasked with stopping him every week.

A shining light of the European game this season, the Napoli forward is an idol in his native Nigeria and is expected to be one of the hottest properties of the summer transfer market after his stunning performances took his club to the brink of their first league title since the days of Diego Maradona.

The 24-year-old is now valued at a minimum £150million and said recently it was his 'dream' to play in the Premier League.

Osimhen is happy in Italy but with Manchester United and Chelsea among those who may be looking for a specialist centre-forward at the end of the season, he will be top of many lists.

As he settles down in his hotel room for his first major interview with a UK media outlet, Osimhen - a doubt for Napoli's Champions League quarter-final first leg against AC Milan - delivers a fascinating account of his journey to becoming one of the best strikers in the world.

Growing up in difficult circumstances in the Lagos suburbs, Osimhen sold oranges and bottled water on the city's streets to make ends meet, and saw his local football pitches shut down.

He moved to German club Wolfsburg aged 17 and found the separation from friends and family 'traumatising'.

After gradual improvement at Charleroi in Belgium and French club Lille, Osimhen's career has taken off in Italy, where he has 25 goals in 29 games in all competitions this season.

With Napoli so close to glory, Osimhen is now a little more cautious now when asked about English football but his inspiration is one of the icons of the Premier League era – Didier Drogba.

Mention the former Chelsea striker's name and Osimhen becomes a pure fan again.

'I have always supported Drogba and I have huge love and admiration for him,' he gushes.

'I remember when he scored the equaliser in the 2012 Champions League Final, an amazing header, and the way I celebrated was as though I had scored the goal. My friends knew I was obsessed with Drogba.

'When I scored 10 goals and won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in 2015, one of the Nigeria staff showed me a tweet from Drogba. It said 'Congratulations Victor. I wish you all the best for the future.'

'I was shocked. I never believed someone like Didier Drogba would tweet those words to a young aspiring striker. It gave me a whole new motivation to succeed.

'Trust me, he has been so helpful. One morning last year I woke up and checked my Instagram, and found messages to me from him, complimenting me, but saying I still had a long way to go. It's amazing to be in contact with him.

'I try to model my game on his and there are a lot of things I can take from his game and add to my own, so there is nothing better for a young player.

'He's a hero in his country, he's played to the highest level, won a lot and made African youngsters dream. He's a busy man but whenever he sees my messages on Instagram he replies immediately. It's a great feeling.'

Doubtless Osimhen now has the same status among Africa's young forwards. And if not every Premier League follower is familiar with his work, they soon will be.

He may not be quite as prolific as Erling Haaland - who is? - but Osimhen is arguably a more complete No 9. He is technically outstanding, powerful in the air, quick, athletic and intelligent.

Wearing a protective mask on the pitch after breaking his cheekbone and eye socket in November 2021, the 24-year-old even looks like a superhero.

But for the duration of our interview, he is far more like Clark Kent, with his unaffected, easy manner and engaging conversation.

The idea of Osimhen v Haaland duel for the Premier League Golden Boot is thrilling yet Osimhen reveals that the pair already share great mutual respect.

'I play with Leo Ostigard at Napoli, who is very good friends with Haaland and plays for Norway with him,' Osimhen explains.

'I am a fan of the Bundesliga so I've followed him for a while and every weekend he seems to score two, three, four goals.

'Ostigard spoke to me a lot about him, how hard he trained, then one day he said: 'If you want, I can bring you his shirt.' I said: 'Of course, bro.'

'So he spoke to Haaland, who also asked for my shirt, so we swapped them through Ostigard. He is one of the best of his generation so to be compared with him – and considered one of the best strikers in the world – only inspires me to do more.

'I can score four goals in a game, I can provide more assists, I can do many more things as I have the quality to execute them. I need to work even harder and then at the end of my career I can hopefully look back and say yes, I did some wonderful things.

'Everyone watches the EPL (Premier League), it is really competitive, but Serie A is also one of the strongest leagues. When Cristiano Ronaldo played there, he said the same thing. I am really happy to be there.

'If we can win the title for Napoli, the city will never be the same again. When you go to the city, the fans have tears in their eyes. They haven't won the league since Maradona's time (1990) and they are so close to realising this dream.

'Sometimes they come to the players' houses to show their love, as late as 2am. Naples bleeds for football and I have imagined many times how the city will explode if we can win the Scudetto (league title). We have chances to go far in the Champions League, too.'

Osimhen's rise is all the more impressive considering the adversity he has experienced. His was not the smooth path of the golden prospect who is taken into the academy of a top club in his early years and progresses into the first team.

There have been sacrifices throughout his story which make today's success all the sweeter, as he rubs shoulders with Nigerian greats like Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu, Rashidi Yekini and Emmanuel Amunike.

Osimhen's style of play is unselfish yet he would not be human if he were not attracted by personal goals, with the African Footballer of the Year award – won by Drogba in 2006 and 2009 – particularly prominent in his thinking.

'I started playing football at seven or eight but I was not really into it as I was still going with my sisters to sell oranges,' he recalls. 'I knew I was good at it but then at a certain point I realised I had to take it seriously.

'They closed down the pitch at my primary school and we had a lot of talented players, but most of them went to get jobs. After that I had to walk for an hour to train at a secondary school outside my community.

'At the same time I was selling bottled water in the Lagos traffic, trying to help my family however I could. I had trials for the Nigeria Under-17 side, meaning a five-hour journey to (capital city) Abuja.

'Initially I didn't make the grade and when I found out, I had tears in my eyes. But I kept pushing and eventually I was chosen. The Under-17 World Cup was a turning point for me.

'I am not going to lie. It would be my dream to be African Footballer of the Year. I was at the ceremony in 2015, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won the award. As an African you dream of this prize and maybe I can win.

'My first experience of European football, at Wolfsburg, was difficult. But it paved the way for what I have done since. I know that if I change countries, I will adapt quickly.

'I am not the type of player who folds under pressure and I try to stay calm in every situation. The season is going really well. I have putting up some amazing numbers and I am proud of what I have achieved – but I am not done yet.'

Politics / Peter Obi Not Qualified To Contest Presidential Poll – APC Tells Tribunal by Afonja2: 9:05am On Apr 11, 2023
The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday, prayed the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja to dismiss the petition filed by the Labour Party (LP) and its Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, against the emergence of Sen. Bola Tinubu as president-elect in the February 25 election.

The APC, the 4th respondent, urged the PEPC to reject the petition in its notice of preliminary objection marked: CA/PEPC/03/2023 and filed at PEPC’s Secretariat on Monday night by Thomas Ojo, a member of the party’s legal team led by Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, in Abuja.

The party asked the tribunal to dismiss the petition with substantial cost on the grounds that it lacked merit and was frivolous.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Obi, the 1st petitioner, and LP, the 2nd petitioner, had sued the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu, Sen. Kashim Shettima and APC as 1st to 4th respondents, respectively.

The petitioners are seeking the nullification of the election victory of Tinubu and Shettima in the Feb. 25 presidential poll.

While former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 6,984,520 votes in the election, Obi came third with 6,101,533 votes.

Abubakar and PDP are also challenging the outcome of the poll.

However, in the petition marked: CA/PEPC/03/2023 filed by Obi and LP’s lead counsel, Livy Ozoukwu, they contended that Tinubu “was not duly elected by a majority of the lawful votes cast at the time of the election.”

The petitioners claimed there was rigging in 11 states, adding that they would demonstrate this in the declaration of results based on the uploaded results.

Obi and LP said INEC violated its own regulations when it announced the result despite the fact that at the time of the announcement, the totality of the polling unit results had yet to be fully scanned, uploaded and transmitted electronically as required by the Electoral Act.

Among other prayers, the petitioners urged the tribunal to “determine that, at the time of the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, the 2nd and 3rd respondents (Tinubu and Shettima) were not qualified to contest the election.

“That it be determined that all the votes recorded for the 2nd respondent in the election are wasted votes, owing to the non-qualification of the 2nd and 3rd respondents.

“That it is determined that on the basis of the remaining votes (after discountenancing the votes credited to the 2nd respondent), the 1st petitioner (Obi) scored a majority of the lawful votes cast at the election and had not less than 25 per cent of the votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of the states of the federation and the FCT and satisfied the constitutional requirements to be declared the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

“That it be determined that the 2nd respondent (Tinubu), having failed to score one-quarter of the votes cast at the presidential election in the FCT, was not entitled to be declared and returned as the winner of the presidential election held on February 25.”

Responding, the APC prayed the court to dismiss the suit on the ground that Obi, the 1st petitioner, lacked requisite locus standi to institute the petition because he was not a member of LP at least 30 days before the party’s presidential primary to be validly sponsored by the party.

It said: “The 1st petitioner (Obi) was a member of PDP until May 24, 2022.

“1st petitioner was screened as a presidential aspirant of the PDP in Apni 2022.

“1st petitioner participated and was cleared to contest the presidential election while being a member of the PDP.

“1st petitioner purportedly resigned his membership of PDP on May 24, 2022, to purportedly join the 2nd petitioner (Labour Party) on May 27, 2022.

“2nd petitioner conducted its presidential primary on May 30, 2022, which purportedly produced 1st petitioner as its candidate, which time contravened Section 77(3) of the Electoral Act for him to contest the primary election as a member of the 2nd petitioner.”

The party argued that Obi was not a member of LP at the time of his alleged sponsorship.

The APC argued that “by the mandatory provisions of Section 77 (1) (2) and (3) of the Electoral Act 2022, a political party shall maintain a register and shall make the such register available to INEC not later than 30 days before the date fixed for the party primaries, congresses and convention.”

It stated further that all the PDP’s presidential candidates were screened on April 29, 2022, an exercise in which Obi participated and was cleared to contest while being a member of the party.

It argued that the petition was incompetent since Obi’s name could not have been in LP’s register made available to INEC at the time he joined the party.

The APC equally argued that the petition was improperly constituted, having failed to join Atiku Abubakar and PDP, which were necessary parties to be affected by the reliefs sought.

“By Paragraph 17 of the petition, the petitioners, on their own, stated that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came second in the presidential election with 6,984,520 votes as against the petitioners who came third with 6,101,533 votes;

“At Paragraph 102 (ii) of the petition, the petitioners urged the tribunal to determine that the 1st petitioner scored the majority of lawful votes without joining Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the petition.

“For the tribunal to grant prayer (iii) of the petitioners, the tribunal must have set aside the scores and election of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar must be heard before his votes can be discountenanced by the tribunal,” it said.

The party, therefore, argued that the tribunal lacked the requisite jurisdiction to entertain pre-election complaints embedded in the petition as presently constituted, among other arguments.

The APC urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition with substantial cost as the same was devoid of any merit and founded on frivolity.

Politics / Obidients Is Most Repulsive, Off-putting Concoctions I Ever Encountered- Soyinka by Afonja2: 12:12pm On Apr 07, 2023
‘Obidients’ Is One Of The Most Repulsive, Off-Putting Concoctions I Ever Encountered In Political Arena –Soyinka

Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka has said the recent attacks against him justify his earlier position that the Labour Party was taking the direction of fascism.

In a statement issued on Friday titled, ‘Fascism On Course’, Soyinka said the “seeds of seeds of incipient fascism in the political arena have evidently matured”.

Musician, Femi Kuti had expressed his dislike for the use of the word ‘Obidients’ to describe the followers of Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Soyinka said it “is one of the most repulsive, off-putting concoctions I ever encountered in any political arena”.

Soyinka had criticised an attempt made by the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed to dictate to the Supreme Court regarding the party’s suit challenging the presidential election is unacceptable.

Soyinka during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday condemned Baba-Ahmed’s statement in an interview in which he said the judgement of the Supreme Court must favour his party.

Baba-Ahmed during an interview on Channels TV on Thursday, March 23, 2023, said Section 134 of the constitution stipulates that the winner of the presidential election must score the highest number of votes and at least 25 per cent each in two-thirds of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Baba-Ahmed also argued that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, who was declared as the ‘President-elect’ did not satisfy the requirement to be declared ‘President-elect,’ stating categorically that there was no president-elect for Nigeria yet because the declared failed to get 25 per cent of the votes in the FCT.

When asked what part of Baba-Ahmed’s statement was unbecoming, Soyinka said, “Nearly the totality, listen, the interviewer asked him several times; he said ‘what will you do if the Supreme Court judgement is against you, if the interpretation which you are offering about the constitutional aspect of this election, if it is against that of the Supreme Court.’”

In his statement on Friday, Soyinka said, “It would appear that a record discharge of toxic sludge from our notorious smut factory is currently clogging the streets and sewers of the Republic of Liars. It goes to prove the point that provoked the avalanche EXACTLY! “

According to the literary icon, “A climate of fear is being generated.”

He continued, “The refusal to entertain corrective criticism, even differing perspectives of the same position has become a badge of honour and certificate of commitment. What is at stake, ultimately is – Truth, and at a most elementary level of social regulation: when you are party to a conflict, you do not attempt to intimidate the arbiter, attempt to dictate the outcome, or impugn, without credible cause, his or her neutrality even before hearing has commenced. That is a ground rule of just proceeding. Short of this, Truth remains permanently elusive.

“The ensuing cacophony has been truly bewildering. It strikes me as a possible ploy to smother recent provocations by other, far more trenchant issues, such as revelations of declarations of a religious war. If so, let it be known that I have long declared war against religious fundamentalism, the nature of which justifies the butchery, kidnapping and enslavement of students in the name of religion. “That aspirant’s alleged gaffe cuts no ice with me. Far more alarming was the grotesque fantasy of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court disguised as a wheelchair, zooming off in space to a secret meeting with other parties of the conflict.

“On its own, that is sufficiently scary. Swiftly followed thereafter by a television tirade of intimidation, it strikes one as more than the mere antics by the mentally deranged. The tactics are familiar: ridicule, incriminate, then intimidate. Objective: undermine the structure of justice.

“Just as a reminder: this writer was not being rhetorical when he declared, on exiting prison detention: Justice is the first condition of humanity.

“The instigating contest – Nigerian Democracy 2023 - has witnessed much that is innovative – largely in the retrogressive vein. Violence and ethnic profiling. “Spiritual” warfare in the shape of sacrificial rams to keep “disloyal” communites under restraint – in short, intimidation yet again! “Easily overlooked however are those missives of violence directed against dissenting voices, real or suspect. Such, for instance, were the virulent attacks and threats to the musician Seun Kuti, his family and iconic music Shrine. His crime consisted of nothing more than declaring the name “Obidient” derogatory to his sense of civic dignity and activist history. Such beginnings – and instances are numerous - have culminated in the open intimidation of the Court of Last Resort, even before proceedings have begun.

“By the way, I do agree with Seun Kuti; ‘Obidients’ is one of the most repulsive, off-putting concoctions I ever encountered in any political arena. Some love it however, and this is what freedom is about. Choice. Taste. Free emotions.

“By contrast, I have no quarrel with “Yes Daddy”. Roman Catholics are used to saying “Yes, Father”. Secularists say “Enh, Baba”. The context and content are what matters, and lies – where established - raise bothersome issues such as Integrity Deficiency.

“Let us remind ourselves of the following: in any adjudication, society finds it unacceptable that a party to the dispute resort to influencing tactics by extra-judicial means – such as bribery. Intimidation and threats are merely the obverse complements of material inducement. Those who fail to appreciate this are entirely free to their existence in an illusory world.”

Politics / I Didn't Write Any Letter Calling For Tinubu's Arrest - Prof Akinyemi by Afonja2: 6:02am On Mar 31, 2023
Former Foreign Affairs Minister Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi has said he was not responsible for a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari calling for the arrest of President-elect Bola Tinubu.
He said the seditious letter was embarrassing to him and his associates.

The retired university don had received calls from home and abroad about the fake news, which has exposed the negative impact of unregulated social media.

The elder statesman said the seditious and spurious letter in social media should not be attributed to him.

Akinyemi said it is possible that since his illustrious father, Canon Akinyemi, did not patent his name when he was named, anybody can pose as the bearer of the name.

The former Minister said: “My attention has been drawn to the seditious and spurious letter to the President, General Muhammadu Buhari calling for the arrest of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. My name has been attached to this letter.

“I am stating most emphatically that I did not write or authorize this letter.

“I sign my letter Professor A. Bolaji Akinyemi and not in any format.

I have sought legal advice on this matter and have been advised that since my parents did not patent my name when I was maned, anyone can call himself Bolaji Akinyemi.”

Ijesa-born Akinyemi, a professor of International Relations, is a former Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos; an Afenifere intellectual, a member of Uwais Panel on Electoral Reforms, and former Deputy Chairman of the National Conference Committee.

This is coming in the wake of speculations that he is in London to meet president-elect Bola Tinubu.

Politics / Re: FCT 25% Requirement: Olisa Agbakoba Saw This Coming by Afonja2: 7:09am On Mar 22, 2023
In other words, even if you win all the 36 states of the federation and you did not score 25% in FCT, you can not become a president?

You think the drafters of Nigeria constitution are so daft? What is the big deal about FCT that unless you win 25% of it's total votes, you can not be president?

Agbakoba and his ilks know they are just being mischievous. Senior Advocates of Nonsense

Here is the result sheet of a ward in Abia. It was doctored before it was uploaded to INEC iREV. This happened at:

Location: Uru Primary School
Ward: UMUCHIEZE I
LGA: UMU - NNEOCHI
State: Abia.

As can be seen,

1. APC scored 40 but it was changed to 4
2. LP scored 22 but was changed to 100
3. PDP scored 30 but was changed to 1.

Politics / Obasanjo is a danger to Democracy- Gen. Akinrinade by Afonja2: 8:49am On Feb 28, 2023
PRESS STATEMENT

AN INTERLOPING FORMER PRESIDENT IS A PRESENT DANGER TO DEMOCRACY

The recent statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo over the recently concluded elections must be condemned in the strongest terms by democracy loving Nigerians and those who care about the unity of this country.

His statement coming at a time when the Independent National Electoral Commission was still busy with the conduct and release of the elections results is both unfortunate and a glaring and calculative attempt to game the system. Without any shred of evidence a former President is challenging the integrity of a national elections and calling a seating President to truncate it midway.

As a General who fought for the unity of this country and one that has witnessed the many twists and turns of our Democratic development, I am certain that Nigeria this time is on the right path. I find it most disturbing and objectionable that a former General and President will introduce such a diatribe into the body politic of Nigeria at such a delicate time as this.

Being not neutral, Obasanjo’s intervention falls short of patriotism and fits perfectly into meddling in the affairs of state that is already the constitutional responsibility of INEC.

Nigerians can easily recall the obasanjo years and his democratic antics and many bullish attempts at circumventing the political process.

I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore Obasanjo’s recent interruptions and focus on supporting the lawful institution to do its job by allowing the process to run it’s full course.

The President Buhari i know will let the process run its full course and will not intervene in an undemocratic manner to truncate the ongoing political process.

Luckily, President Buhari is made of finer and more principled democratic stuff. He will not allow Obasanjo to lure him into tainting his democratic credentials in this regard. I recall that in his last trip to the United States, President Joe Biden praised Buhari's commitment to democratic values and principles. Obasanjo has no such record to be applauded.

The world has not forgotten his fraudulent and undemocratic attempt at a third term agenda in violation of the letter and spirit of the Nigerian constitution.

In 2007, after his botched third term bid, Obasanjo conducted the worst election in the history of Nigeria. The beneficiary of that electoral heist, Late President Umaru Yar’Adua openly admitted that his presidency was a product of a fraudulent election with a commitment to reform the electoral process.

Nigerians have voted. Their votes have counted. Let no one disrupt the process.

Politics / Re: If Obi Losses, Many Northern Christians May Denounce Their Faith by Afonja2: 7:37pm On Feb 26, 2023
copyrites:
Not only that, I see a situation where churches like RCCG and many other southern churches will completely pack up in the North.

Obi (the only Christian and most qualified candidate in terms of power rotation and credibility) losing this election will shake Christianity in Nigeria.

Trust me, I have many Northern Christians as friends. And right now, they see Southern Christians (especially those from the WEST) as extreme bigots.

After seeing the results from Ekiti and a few ward results from Ondo, one of them just called to express his anger. He is from Kaduna and he's asking why Obi couldn't even win one ward in a supposed Southern states? This is a well bred Hausa man who delivered his polling unit to an Igbo man in KD.

You are a big eediot. What has Obi got to do with Christianity? Was he sponsored by Nigeria Christians? Mumu Nyanminri
