1. Debola Williams, Nigerian – Red Media Africa

31 – year old Debola Williams is a media personality and co-founder of RED (owner of Red Media Africa, YNaija.com, The Future Awards Africa, StateCraft Inc amongst others). He has built a fantastic profile for himself in the past few years, having played a major role in the re-branding of President Muhammadu Buhari for the 2015 general election and the election campaign of President Nana Akufo Addo of Ghana. At the age of 17, he began co-presenting Youth Talk on NTA Network. He was also presenter and associate producer on a business television show, Economy Watch, also on the NTA.

Named by Forbes Magazine as the best African entrepreneur under 30 in 2013, Osewa, like many other entrepreneurs, has a compelling start-up story. Prior to the launch of his popular Nairaland.com on the 25th of March, 2005, he had attempted to start a web – hosting business but which failed for lack of viable income.
The 33-year old Nigerian thereafter, took time off to research a viable online business idea and, as fate would have it, the idea of Nairaland was birthed as a general purpose discussion forum, with a bias towards issues of interest to Nigerians.
Today, Nairaland is adjudged one of the most popular Nigerian websites.

3. Aisha Ayensu, Ghanaian, Christie BrownAisha Ayensu, 30, is the founder and Head Designer of Christie Brown, an internationally – acclaimed luxury women’s fashion label that subtly infuses modernism into carefully selected traditional African fabrics to create awe-inspiring dresses with a transcontinental finish.

4. Ogunlana Olumide and Chukwuwezam Obanor ( PrepClass)
Olumide and Obanor, both 24, are the founders of PrepClass – a Nigerian academic solutions provider offering online test prep software, full-length tests, and a CBT (Computer Based Testing) experience similar to that of Nigerian university pre-entry exams. PrepClass provides in addition, personalized home tutors in Lagos, Nigeria, skilled at meeting individual academic needs. The company has been funded by CRE Venture Capital and the Venture Garden Group.

5. Bankole Cardoso (Easy Taxi Nigeria)
27-year-old Bankole Cardoso is the founder of the Nigerian operations of EasyTaxi, a taxi mobile App that was developed in Brazil in 2012 by German technology start-up incubator, Rocket Internet GmBH.
Born and raised in Lagos, Cardoso proceeded to Boston College, where he studied Business Management, majoring in accounting. After studying and working abroad for several years, he decided to move back home to pursue a business idea that came to him while he was living in New York.
Like it was in New York City at a time, he discovered that there was some sort of difficulty in hailing taxis at one’s convenience in Lagos, despite the availability of a reasonable number of taxis. He brought the safety concerns of the average Lagosian also into consideration. Cardoso felt that Easy Taxi could bring a solution to this inherent need and create a more efficient method of hailing taxis, just as was practiced in New York City.
The young Nigerian don was featured in CNN’s Africa Start-up in 2014 and has been named by Forbes as one of the 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa for Year 2014.

6. Olakunle Abiodun Churchill, Nigerian – Big Church Group

It seems the last has not been heard of the unprecedented separation of the TV goddess - Tonto Dikeh and her estranged husband - Olakunle Oladunni Churchill who happens to be one of Nigeria’s multimillionaire.

It all started as rumour but began to make sense to fans of the couple when Tonto Dikeh firstly removed her husband’s surname from her Instagram page; then followed by series of posts on her social media platforms - giving an impression of how lucky she was to have got out of the marriage alive as she accused her once darling husband of being a wife batterer.

But her recent interview which has been republished by different media emphatically suggested Churchill had physically abused her, and cheated on her; sighting a period of their brief holiday in Ghana; a period during which she claimed she was physically abused and had to rush to Nigeria High Commission - naked - to seek refuge in 2015.

Tonto Dikeh, celebrity status and maintenance of 'good name'

In a society where domestic violence has taken lives of many women and left many marriages shattered, Tonto Dikeh’s accusation was not taken with a pinch of salt by fans and foes who believe no one woman deserves such a treatment in the name of marriage.

As a result of this 'confession' about her ordeal and reason for separation from her husband, she won the heart of many who sympathized with her.

But many have also criticized Tonto Dikeh for reaping what she did to others, while others accused her of intentionally denting the image of Churchill – just to have a reason to quit her marriage without having to lose fans but rather gain more sympathy and elevation in public domain as all celebrities always desire.

Some have also asked why a woman like Tonto Dikeh who once spoke gracefully of her husband, and had a child for him has decided to accused him of all wrongdoing while excusing herself from any blame that could have been responsible of the crash of the marriage.

Skyrocketing cases of Domestic Violence

According to domesticviolence.com.ng report, "28 per cent of all women, almost a third of all women in Nigeria, have experienced physical violence, a significant number in a country of almost 160 million, where almost half are women.”

How genuine are the accusations and counter-accusations

In a society where many women have suffered physical abuse, while men who faces same would rather prefer to die with it silently, it is important to dig deeper into the matter, and find out who's really bearing the brunt of abuse or lying about the whole accusation and counter-accusations.

It is in this respect that GhanaWeb decided to investigate an incident the popular actress referred to in her recent interview where she accused her estranged husband of physically abusing her in Ghana.

In a fact finding mission with a group of selected entertainment reporters, we engaged Supt. Joseph Oppong, Crime Officer at the Madina Divisional Police command who oversee the case Tonto Dikeh referred to in her interview.

In a sober manner, DSP Oppong recalled the distress call he got from the neighbourhood in one of the eyebrow estate of Accra known as Trassacco Valley.

“The incident happened on the 9th of June 2015. We got report that someone in the neighbourhood was causing damage to property, and had pulled out a pump action gun at one of the house helps who was trying to calm her down. On getting to the scene, everywhere was scattered; broken glasses, TV among other house equipment which was later valued at about $20,000.

Unfortunately, it took several of our men to bring her (Tonto) under control as she was very aggressive and appear not to be herself; as if someone is under the influence of something more powerful than her."

We brought her to the police station, and ask her to write her statement.

Even as she was doing that, she was insulting everyone. It was quite obvious she wasn’t herself. But whatever it is she took that made her behave in such erratic manner, I can’t tell."

When questioned if her accusation about Churchill responsible for the scars she got during the incident, Mr Oppong said “It couldn’t have been as a result of physical abuse from her husband, because he was not even in the house when the incident happened. This could have occurred during the period she lost control with everyone trying to calm her down and bruises from the things she damaged, because we met her in a tattered clothes when we got there."

He added that Tonto in her statement confessed to have caused damaged to Churchill’s property: “It was in this process we got to know that she had a history of behaving in such manner because her fiance then (Churchill) made us aware that she had once lost control same way she did and destroyed valuables worth $15,000 in his house.

When pressed further on what Tonto Dikeh cited as reasons for her erratic behaviour, he said “According to her statement, some ladies came to visit her fiancée, unknown to her that they are Churhill’s sister, and this made her mad in some way.”

He however debunked Tonto Dikeh’s narration that she went to the Nigeria High Commission to seek refuge after she was maltreated: “[i]Unfortunately, that’s far from the truth. After inviting her to our station, we informed the Nigeria Consular in the name of Mr. Abraham Poko; which is the right thing to do as she’s not a Ghanaian. We took her there in our own car. She was later granted bail and her fiancé later dropped the charges some two days after, if not, she would have been taken to court and probably jailed, and made to pay for the loss but Mr. Churchill confessed he has no reason for doing that to a woman she loves and intended making his wife.

This was how the charges was withdrawn and she was set free.” [/i]He said.

Tonto has however threatened to reveal more damning images, videos that'll vindicate her. But while many of her fans await the files to be published, she has already started receiving accolades from fans for speaking up about her ordeal.

While Churchill as rather chose to keep mute about his former wife’s failures; a move many regards as a matured move deserving of a responsible man who would rather choose not to wash his estranged wife's linen in the pages of newspapers or on the internet

It was indeed a convergence of Africa movie super stars across the continent last night as the 5th edition of the most anticipated supreme movie honour - Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards took centre stage with the high and mighty in the corridors of power in the nollywood industry present in style. The glamorous and colourful event saw the celebration of African screen talents and skills through the award recognitions.

With the likes of creative nollywood heavy weights ‎Olu Jacobs, RMD, Desmond Elliot,  Joke Sylvia, Funke Akindele, Genevive Nnaji, Rita Dominic , Oge Okoye, Toyin Aimahku and even mother of three -Mercy Johnson putting up gracious appearance to be part of the annual Africa recognition event to celebrate the industry that gave them fame and fortune. Well, Churchill we choose to reserve our comments especially on the P. Recently, the popular Nollywood actress (in proxy) Miss Tonto Dikeh has been chasing winds in her plights to ridicule her husband whom she claims to have engaged marital infidelity. Yes, the details of her claim on the husband’s infidelity and her skepticisms to continue with the marital engagements might seem to be news to some, but to us it’s a baseless accusation that do not really weigh waters and indeed a wild goose chase considering the situation and benefits that clouds the marriage for her.

Big Church Foundation yesterday, 21st February unveiled popular music artist Praiz Adejo as one of its Ambassadors for the 2017 project year.  The signing and papers works was done at the Ikoyi office of the foundation's boardroom.

A‎ddressing the board members of Lagos office, the Chairman, Dr. Olakunle Churchill said they needed a new Ambassador for the Big Church Foundation to spearhead the Agriculture and Mining project which is targeting the Nigerian youths. He further buttressed on the choice of Praiz as worthy one, who has also worked with the Big Church Foundation during charity campaigns in the past. " We congratulate you and we know with your presence we can achieve a lot in the area of charity empowerment and project executions nationally and internationally" 

Big Church Foundation which has offered university scholarship,made donations to the less privileged, Visited crisis ravaged areas, supported hospital patients, partnered with charity events and hosted empowerment campaigns unveiled Praiz to pilot the empowerment of 36,000 youths in Nigeria through the 36 states. 1,000 youths from each state are to be empowered through talent hunts, skill acquisition, loans, small business starts and job creation. 

Also at the unveiling board conference was the current Ambassador for Women and Child, Actress Rosaline Meurer her key charity portfolio is the Orphanages, Girl Child and nursing mothers. Signed since 2015, with Television Personality  Amb. Rachel Bakam signed in 2016 for Media & Charity Awareness Campaign, they are now joined by Praiz who heads the Project Empowerment Portfolio. According to exclusive information from AbujaCity News,  actress who started the marriage crashing scandal with the removal of the husband name on her instagram, was reported to have allegedly fuelled the PA and husband romance to attract public sympathy.

It was revealed according inside source, that the mother of one, boasted to her husband that she would drag his image to the mud with her overwhelming influence on social media. She threatened to bring him down on social media as the husband does not command such authority or fame on the Internet.  Her supposed determination to downplay him and his image, instigated her messy disposition in her mother- inlaw's house, where she was alledgedly accused of attacking and pushing down her mother- in law. Her 2 hours breaking of home properties was reported to be as a result of her marijuana related reactions in her family home. Which according to source was the height of embarrasing the husband faced that prompted him to travel. Tonto Dikeh, hurriedly removed her husband's name on instagram to elicit fand sympathy for her and public condemnation for the husband.

As the issue of the alleged infidelity of her husband was gradually phasing off as the accused lady refuted the claim on TV, Tonto Dikeh was fingered to have sponsored her colleague, one Uche Maduagwu of TINSEL to fire another allegation of Gay accusation, with recorded Youtube video -

Uche Maduagwu quickly posted again that his account was hacked to defend the earlier posted. Swankyjerry is said to be the friend to Tonto Dikeh and a family friend of the couple. The Misleading story from Uche Maduagwu attacking Churchill on Instagram was brought down by some blogs including Instagblog for its strong defaming impression.‎

The latest gist which is believed to have emanated from an online media few hours ago in a rumour capacity but consciously sponsored gossip, is the domestic violence which was alleged to be one of the reason she left the married. This seem very obvious that the excuses to justify her celebrity marriage breakup is to keep throwing stones on the husband and sacrificing her family secrecy on the alter of social media

Toast• With your mega expenditure during your 4- day Walk For Love" charity campaign incomoration of United Nation World Disability ‎Day, calls for Concern, How is your Foundation Funded?

Churchill: Yes, that was a memorable charity event. Am glad it was successful. Atleast a lot of the physically challenged were empowered, we lectured them on how to discover ability in disability. Our income comes from favour, goodwill, besides 10% of our profit or revenue from Big Church Group is transferred to charity to the foundation charity account.

Toast •Recently, your househelp ‎or domestic staff disclosed to an online media that you had issues with wife and you have not been at home just after your December foundation project last year

Churchill:  Every family has its ups and downs but I would not want to talk about my family.

Toast• It was said that after You left home, you were Alleged of  having affair with your Female PA? 

Churchill : Well, it's funny to me, because I don't have female personal Assistant, My PA is Mr Paul, who has been working with me over the years. Besides, it was a sponsored blackmail.

Toast• Gist had it that your wife Tonto Dikeh Churchill caused uproar in your mother's home, i.e her mother- inlaw, when she was alleged to have pushed her down and broke everything in her house within 2 hours due to her marijuana reactions

Churchill: These issues are private to me and my family.

Toast: Rumour Has that because of domestic violence from you that  your wife moved out with your son?

Churchill: I wonder where they got such gist from? I don't believe my wife will say that, besides I frown against such even my foundation preach against domestic violence in some of our charity awareness campaigns. It is obvious that all these channelled attacks are targeted to drag my image and what I believe in to the mud. Well, the truth is that I have never raised my hands against my wife. I have evidence of CCTV Cameras in my mums house when this happened.It can be replayed if you what us to go that far. 

Toast: The news earlier today posted and deleted by one Uche Maduagwu that you have relationship with Bobrisky and Swanky Jerry? What is your take on that? 

Churchill:  Truly, I did not see it posted because am not a social media person, but got wind of it later. It's sincerely beats my imagination to think of such relationship...well, don't know Bobrisky but got to know Swanky Jerry through my wife. I believe whoever my wife likes as a friend, I also take as a family friend. Am too busy to think of such unpleasant issues, let alone cooking up defence.

Toast: Your Son's One Year birthday is few days from now, do you have plans to celebrate it? Guess you will be celebrating him with your wife? 

Churchill: Oh! My son, I sure miss him so much. I have planned a worthwhile birthday party for him with friends and family members but it's sad to say that all effort to reach him proved abortive,  and this is affecting my business and emotions, The mum won't pick calls and the nanny,Our son has been with the mother and not at home for now.  I truly, should not be granting this interview if this is all about my family. Am very optimistic that the family will unite together for King Andrea birthday even though channels to reach my wife is temporarily off.

Toast •How Do You perceived all these happening in your family...

Churchill ::: I see nothing in it, it's a phase of life. Since it does not affect my cheques and savings. But I truly want to call on bloggers or on social media addicts to verify facts before assuming. Every marriage has good and bad moments, it's just unfortunate that I recently discovered that the alledged marriage instability is making headlines on some media platforms. Please Tonto Dikeh fans and well wishers take it easy on her, guess she is still adjusting to motherhood. With time, it will be well.


Toast::: The news had it that your son owns his own company Kindred Realtors, a real estate firm, don't you think his is too young?

Churchill ::: (laugh), the company Kindred Realtor was actually one of my companies before I changed it to our son's name after his birth. I feel it's one of his benefit to start building up a brand for him as he grows.
