Barr. Ify Morah, Others Enlisted In PDP Presidential Campaign Council

A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and a Legal Practitioner, Barr. Ify Morah has been Enlisted in the party's presidential campaign council as an honorable member.

In a list consisting 326 members released by the party's National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bature, Barr. Ify Morah appears in No. *191*. Barr. Mrs Ify Morah is clearly among the Young dynamic politicians that were included in the just released PDP Campaign Committee. With all the Heavy Weights in the committee, Barr. Mrs Ify Morah is one of the youngest & bright personnels included therein.

The council has as the Chairman, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, HE. Udom Emmanuel while HE. Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State is the Director General.

Also on the list amongst others is the Rivers State Governor, HE. Barr. Nyeson Wike.

Addressing her supporters shortly after the list was released on Thursday in Oyi Anambra State, Morah said she is honoured by her enlistment in the council, assuring that she will deploy her wealth of experience and network to market the presidential candidate of the party, HE. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.

She stated that the APC government has since 2015 gravely reversed the progress made by the PDP government, taking the country light years backward while poverty, hunger, banditry and severe Insecurity confront the people under the leadership of APC, even as the economy witnesses it’s very worst moments.

She called on her constituents to fully support the PDP and its candidates to regain power at all levels in 2023, expressing hope that the party will have a clean sweep in the next year 2023 election.

Prof. Moghalu To Speak At Nigeria Youth Decide Concerning Oct 1

A good leadership advocate and a former deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu has been scheduled to speak at the Oct 1 Nigeria Youth Decide conference taking place at Sheraton Hotel Abuja.

Co-convener of the campaign, Dr. Utchay Odims had on Wednesday led a high-powered delegation to a visit to Prof. Moghalu in his Abuja home.

The conference seeks to create a forum for the Nigerian young men and women to have an interface with the presidential candidates in the upcoming 2023 general elections.

The organisers say there will be a paradigm shift from the era when political leaders decide what to do for the populace, stating that the forum will avail Nigerian youth opportunity to tell the politicians what they want.

Receiving the delegation, Prof. Moghalu expressed delight that Nigerian young population are making frantic efforts to play a critical role in their governance structure.

According to him, the vision of the conveners of this conference aligns with his position that the youths constituting over 70 per cent of the entire Nigerian population can decide their choice of leadership.

Contributors at the gathering, Mr. Paul, Desmond and Lady Doris were all in agreement that Nigeria youth have what it takes to entrench the Nigerian nation they desire.

Governor Sani Bello Emerges Democracy Man Of The Year

Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello has emerged the Democracy Man of the Year 2022 after coming top at an online voting exercise which commenced in June.

A gender advocate and President, World Women Leading Change Nigeria, Ogenna Walter Ekwubiri has congratulated the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the ruling APC ahead of the 2023 general elections.

EXPOSED!!! Despite Court Order Directing Hon. Dagogo's Release, Rivers State Government Keeps Him In Detention


The Rivers State government and police authorities have continued to keep the member representing Degema-Bonny Federal constituency and governorship aspirant, Hon. Farrah Dagogo in detention despite Court order which directed that he be released.

Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt Rivers State presided over by Hon. Justice E.A Obile had on Monday 9th May, 2022 pursuant to an exparte motion ordered for his release by the Police, pending the hearing of the substantive suit,

The conditions attached to the order was however fulfilled at about 11am on Thursday.

Despite meeting the conditions however, he is still detained in an undisclosed hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

Our correspondent gathered that the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Mr Friday Eboka has frustrated all efforts to release Hon. Dagogo.

He was accused of declining to append his signature in relevant documents presented to him by the court after a confirmation from court which took him six hours.

Allegedly acting on the instruction of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike there are indications that the police authorities may shop for fresh trumped up allegations against Dagogo to continue keeping him in detention.

The governorship aspirant was few weeks ago arrested for allegedly attacking the screening centre of PDP National Assembly aspirants in Port Harcourt, an allegation he has since denied.

He was subsequently detained and charged to court.

Pundits believe that his arrest masterminded by Gov. Wike is in an effort to thwart the lawmaker's governorship aspirant and impose an anointed candidate.

Ibrahim Lawal, SA Media and Publicity to Hon. Dagogo had in a release accused the police a deliberately delaying the release of his principal, noting that a poisonous substance had been administered on him which the police want to circulate in the body system of the legislator.

He said, "From a source, we have it that Efeturi Irikefe, the Camp Commandant to Governor Nyesom Wike, who abducted Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo with the approval of CP Friday Eboka on April 28th, laced Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo with substances, suspected to be poisonous, which have contributed to his deteriorating health in the custody of the police. The source has further notified us that the delay in obeying the court order by the Police Commissioner, CP Eboka is to ensure the substances are fully circulated on all parts of the Federal Lawmaker's body system. In other words, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo could be a walking corpse upon gaining his freedom.

"Therefore, we wish to bring it to the notice of the general public, the court and the Inspector General in particular, that CP Friday Eboka, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State has gone rogue and an accomplice to all acts hatched to harm Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo. While we demand immediate investigation into his activities, it is instructive to note that the Police Commissioner has turned himself to law and does not obey court order but he is now a proud political appendage of the Governor of Rivers State whose political bidding he willingly executes."

Member representing Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency of Rivers State, Hon. Farrah Dagogo has been hospitalised.

He was earlier arrested by the police on the order of Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on allegation that Hon. Dagogo attacked screening committee members screening National Assembly aspirants in Port Harcourt.

He was taken to the hospital by the Police in the early hours of Wednesday, his SA Media, Ibrahim Lawal said in a statement.

He was hospitalised after he raised complaints about stomach and chest complications.

"Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo has been taken to the hospital by the Police. He complained of stomach and chest complications. He is receiving treatment now" the statement said.

Lawal also assured that he will be giving information as situations unfold.

Rivers State Government plan to attack State CID and pin it on Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo

1. This is to notify the world that the Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike and his Camp Commandant, Efeturi Irikefe are unrelenting in their vain attempt to pin criminal charges on Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, Member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency and Governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State. We received from source that Governor Wike and his Camp Commandant, Efeturi Irikefe, will stop at nothing to put Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo in perpetual detention and they have already manufactured more charges of murder, kidnap, armed robbery, illegal bunkering and attacks on security agencies among other trump up charges to be hung on the neck of the Governorship hopeful.

2. Having seen their initial trump up charges flopped spectacularly and the unending backlash the Governor and his government are receiving, the Rivers State Governor and his goons, chiefly his Camp Commandant, Efeturi Irikefe, are hatching an attack on the State Criminal Investigation Department where Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo is being illegally held and accused the Federal Lawmaker of being the mastermind all in a desperate move to change the narrative.

3. The Rivers State Government, under Barr. Nyesom Wike, is also planning to either harm or arrest or execute both on the families of Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, his staff, particularly his aides and others close to the Federal Lawmaker.

PDP Sues House of Rep Vincent Ekene Ofumelu, withdraws Provisional Clearance Certificate over Perjury


The National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP through its Screening panel has filed a petition against the member representing Oyi/Ayamelum federal constituency of Anambra State, Hon. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu over Perjury, an offence of lying on oath.

The PDP also withdrew provisional clearance certificate issued to Hon. Ofumelu following his clearance by the panel to contest for primaries to represent the people for a second term.

The House of Representatives member was said to have denied his membership of APC on oath, a party he was said to have belonged to during and after the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State even until the National Convention of the APC as evidenced in their party Convention list and Plethora of Pictures taken at the Venue.

Unaware of the developments that Hon. OFUMELU surreptitiously concealed his involvements by defecting to APC, the PDP House of Representatives Screening Committee issued him a Provisional Certificate of clearance.

However, following a petition sent to the screening appeal committee by a group, Ayamelum Local Government PDP stakeholders, the party ordered the withdrawal of the Provisional clearance certificate while commencing a legal action against him.

The petition partly reads, "We wish to bring to your notice that the member representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency with our party mandate has long since defected to APC and dumped our Party since July, 2021.

"It has also gotten to our knowledge that, with the Express approval of the Party, legal proceedings have been filed against him (Hon. Ofumelu) at the appropriate quarters awaiting judgment.

"It is in the light of the above, that we bring before this honourable committee these facts as evidenced in the attachments to our petition. We plead that on no account should this honourable committee grant the aforementioned person any waiver to still contest any further elections with the distinguished Name of our party - People's Democratic Party (PDP).

"On April 26th - (last week)he shamelessly sauntered into the Anambra stakeholders meeting at Wadata House and was ceremoniously walked out of the Party Premises by the Zonal Vice Chairman - Chief Ali Odefa.

Equity sees as done, That which ought to be done! We therefore ask that since he has shamelessly purchased a Nomination Form and an Expression of Interest Form to participate in the forth coming party primaries, may his forms be dismissed and sanctions placed on him by the party Executives.

"May he not be granted any audience nor given any waivers to allow him participate in the primaries mentioned above, as many of our Aggrieved Party loyal members have concluded plans to leave & defect from the party if he is cleared to contest in this election. These are our prayers."

Additionally, the PDP stakeholders insist that existing Zoning arrangement does not support the candidature of Hon. Ofumelu.

Earlier, the PDP through its National Legal Adviser, A.K Ajibade SAN instructed Ahmed A. Raji SAN to on behalf of the party, institute a legal action against Hon. Ofumelu.

The letter of instruction partly reads, "You are by this instruction expected to explore All means legally permissible towards ensuring that the Party regain its seat having sponsored Mr. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu, Member Representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, having defected to the All Progressive Congress contrary to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

"We shall also be available to arm you with all relevant documents that will assist you in instituting the action. While anticipating your acknowledgment, please ensure that the undersign is furnished with all processes filed in respect of this case."

The averments in their filed Affidavits has neither been denied nor Countered by Hon. OFUMELU till date, so they are All termed in Law - as admitted by him to be true.

*Anambra Airport: Flight Operations Grounded As Airport Staff Fails To Put On Runway Light*

Hundreds of passengers were on Saturday stranded at the new Anambra Airport following the grounding of flight operations.

Reliable sources told our correspondent that flight activities were brought to a halt as a result of refusal of the airport management to put on the runway light which aids the landing and taking off of flights.

Passengers were seen in their numbers groaning and lamenting about the situation.

One of the passengers, Kingsley Orji expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, saying such is provocative and unheard of.

He said his flight to Abuja from Anambra was scheduled for 5pm but that did not happen as the runway light remained switched off.

Upon further enquiry, our correspondent gathered that the staff in charge of the unit was nowhere to be found as his phone lines was switched off.

While some other passengers went home, others who were left with the option of locating a nearest airport to continue their journey.

Mr Orji also said despite the situation, passengers were not refunded their money.

He therefore called on the State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo and other relevant authorities to take decisive steps and ensure that passengers will not continue to receive a poor service despite paying huge amount of money to fly.
