upko1: Sane people are posting fine photos, you are posting a scrap image. What a man posts reflects his 'Upper Faculty Content' as a person. That chopper no longer exists in NAF inventory, they were all sold to New Zealand as export of unwanted helicopter. You have no clue about what you are saying or posting. You just wanted to ridicule NAF, but unluckily for you the helos have been exported, sold to New Zealand. Na papa God dey catch you 4 d bad belle. 3 Likes |

jln115: His discussion was quoting an unknown Mr.Rogers' words as facts about SAAF Gripen pilots, that is rumour and not official fact, or he has an SAAF official source weblink to back up his claim? When did strange Mr. Rogers become a reliable source? We should post facts related to our photos not conjure misleading rumours to brainwash readers. Make the thread reliable, don't make it a platform for misinformation. What if everybody else starts rumour merchandizing here and attach it to their photos? 1 Like

. Andrew Spurrier, Europe correspondent. IHS Fairplay Daily Newswire | Feb 08, 2016 12:53PM GMT Maersk Line confirmed today that one of its containerships and its 25-strong crew were saved by the Nigerian navy after pirates boarded and took control of the vessel Safmarine Kuramo that was attacked while it was en route from Pointe Noire in the Republic of the Congo. Same day late in the afternoon, the Nigerian Navy boarded the vessel in a rescue mission. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted a Nigerian Navy spokesman as saying that none of the crew members – eight Filipinos, eight South Africans, five Indians, two Britons and two Thais - was hurt during the attack. The spokesman said that, after getting a distress call from the vessel, the navy had sent a warship and gun boats to the scene. The pirates had fled the ship, he said, when they saw the navy vessel approaching. An officer who took part in the rescue praised Safmarine Kuramo’s South African female master, Zetta Gous Conradie, for her bravery in keeping the navy informed of events on board the vessel while it was under the pirates’ control. 1 Like

If you want to post your hearsay stories from individuals that have no known reputation or official recognition SAAF, go post it on the other thread and stop spreading rumours about Gripen pilots flying hours of qualification or non-qualification that we cannot prove, on this photo thread. Please don't feed readers with wrong information here. Thanks. Nice photo. You can always post your SAAF/SANDF pics plus any related factual and true explanation discuss for us to enjoy, but please do not add the rumour/speculative stories of one strange Mr. Rogers that you attach to pics. 1 Like |

frumentius: You opened any of those drums and found fuel inside? Can you see the content of a steel drum from the outside? Can you differentiate empty drum from full drum by looking at internet photos? Could be siezed and empty, could be owned and empty brought up deck for refill. Could be grease or viscous lubricants drums....you opened the drums and saw fuel inside?

[s] Msauza:[/s] It's been proved with sources over a dozen times here with weblinks and photos. Nigerian navy has refitted about 15 medium to big ships back into full operations and bought 100 brand new IPVs in the last 8 weeks. We have a 2016 defence budget and money available, including purchase of JF-17 Thunder 4th Gen jet fighters. We still export oil and gas everyday and tax revenue flows as well. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

stillchris: Its news, none of us here knew Algerian consitutuion NO LONGER allows fighting abroad until the new man from Algeria said it today. Algerian army and air force deployed into Egypt Israeli border and fought during Arab Israeli war. Photos below... As to magic wand and ongoing attacks, there are random terrorist attacks even in Paris and California, not only Algerian cities. Yes Algeria has the magic wand military capacity to degrade Al Shabbab to low level of Boko Haram in 6 months, current AMISOM force is struggling to cope due to lack of adequate resources. .

.. ssaengine: Moving target keeps moving despite many shots fired at it by the Rooivalk, target escapes alive ! At what range is SANDF Rooivalk shooting gun ? Maximum effective range of that F2 gun is only 2 km, reason why Hinds had to help Rooivalk clear out M23 heavy machine guns in Congo DRC with far superior Mi-35 cannon firepower and range, after safety was created by the Mi-35, then the rebel worthy Rooivalk flew in to use it's weaker TOY GUN ! jln115: Fact is your navy has only 1 Valour corvette fully armed with right number of anti-ship missiles, and it has ZERO torpedoes, your Valour ship has NO anti-submarine warfare capability. After you arm one fully with anti-ship missiles and keep half load as reserve, all your remaining 3 Valour ships are reduced to anti-piracy OPVs with only main gun to fight at sea . |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 7:52pm On Feb 20, 2016 |
Msauza: Msauza: They are frigates by design and heavily armed with Harpoon anti-ship missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, Phalanx CIWS, anti-submarine sonar and torpedoes, anti-missile decoys, heavy 127 mm main guns, etc. These weapons were removed by US government because they were too powerful for maritime security duties they were assigned to do.

Msauza: South African Navy Valour warships have NO torpedoes, your navy has ZERO anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Valour has been downgraded to corvettes by SAN official website due to poor armaments. Exocet 70km, Umkhonto 15 km, Torpedoes NONE !!! |

chkil: Thank you man ! Are you Algerian ? Can you please tell Algeria to send a mixture of 6,000 special forces, elite paratroops, plus experienced COIN regular infantry, backed up with T-90 tanks, Fuchs APCs with 12.7mm X 3 HMG, Mi-35 Super Hind and Mi-28 Havock helicopter gunships to join African Union AMISOM force and quickly defeat Al Shabbab this year 2106 in Somalia ? Defeat the terrorists or degrade them down to Boko Harsm's current level where they will be riding mostly motorcyles, donkeys, bicycles and walking on foot, armed only with AK-47 and RPG, a few light machine guns, and IEDs. Africa needs Algerian money, men, and equipment to join our East African brothers of the AU force in Somalia TODAY.....unite Africa, unite !

ssaengine: Ingwe missile fired at what range in that video? 1 km ? Did the Ingwe hit designated specific target? No answer. Okay, you have now abandoned your boasting about South African air force, you now praise Iraqi air force....Arabs better than Zulus-Bantus, alright I agree with you on that, the Iraqis succeed while South Africans fail at home with their own home made equipment South Africans abandon SAAF and Denel, now praise Iraqi air force and Eurocopter helicopters.... So the Rooivalk helicopter now becomes an orphan child that nobody wants to be his father because he failed his final exams after shïttïng liquid diarrhea pooh-pooh inside it's pänts in a marketing demonstration show in front of the so called 'interested customers' !!! SANDF is now humbled after international demo disgrace performance . 2 Likes |
