Religion / Re: Are These Negative Stories/comments Helping Us Become Better? by akaazua(m): 7:03am On Sep 20, 2011
Brethren, our Lord was no critic. No, among the brotherhood of fault-finders you
never see the Christ of God. When he has to deal with sincere people, he picks no
holes, imputes no motives, and dwells on no mistakes.

Brother, if any man thinks ill of you, do not be angry with him; for you are worse
than he thinks you to be. If he charges you falsely on some point, yet be satisfied, for
if he knew you better he might change the accusation, and you would be no gainer by
the correction. If you have your moral portrait painted, and it is ugly, be satisfied;
for it only needs a few blacker touches, and it would be still nearer the truth.

Somebody has said a very nasty thing about us. Well, well; we will answer him when
we have got through the work we have at hand, namely, praising God continually. At
present we have a great work to do, and cannot come down to wrangle. Self-love and
its natural irritations die in the blaze of praise.

There never was an enterprise started yet but somebody objected to it; and I do not
believe that the best work that Christ himself ever did was beyond criticism; there
were some people who were sure to find some fault with it.

Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. James 4:11
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. Titus 3:1,2
Consider some wise sayings by Charles Spurgeon:

What we wish to see we shall see or think we see. Faults are always thick where love
is thin.

Dear friend, do not become a fault-finder, it is as bad a trade as a pick-pocket’s. Till
you can do better, hold your tongue! Did you ever know a man or woman whom God
blessed that was perfect? If God were to work by perfect instruments, the
instruments would earn a part of the glory.

I think any minister will tell you it is the people who do nothing themselves in a
church that find fault with those who do the work.

Do you know what it means to sacrifice? Read this statement by a young African pastor.
Found among his papers in Zimbabwe after he was martyred

I'm a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His and I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed. My present makes sense. My future is secure. I'm done and finished with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, or first, or tops, or recognized, or praised, or rewarded. I live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by Holy Spirit power.
My face is set. My gait is fast. My goal is heaven. My road may be narrow, my way rough, my companions few, but my guide is reliable and my mission is clear.
I will not be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice or hesitate in the presence of the adversary. I will not negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won't give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus. I must give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes. And when He does come for His own, He'll have no problems recognizing me. My colors will be clear!

Religion / Are These Negative Stories/comments Helping Us Become Better? by akaazua(m): 1:39pm On Sep 18, 2011
Why are we too negative? We are surrounded by negative stories on ever side. The media world seems to thrive when they have a lot of negative/bad stories to report. Hardly will one see reports of exploits and great things our pastors and leaders are doing for the glory of our God. Let a pastor be caught in adultery/fornication or in corruption and you are sure to find the story been reported by several papers and magazines. The bible says: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”. Philippians 4:8
The more negative and bad things we hear and report ourselves, the more negative and bad we at the end become ourselves. What we hear every time will definitely have effects on us. Why post such negative/bad posts every time? Is it to show how spiritual we are and how bad other people are? Is this Christianity?
It seems to me that a good number of us are always having bad stories to post here. Many are eagerly waiting for stories that are not of good report on this site. Many have never made any encouraging comment on this site before. Many are not happy when good encouraging God glorifying posts are made; this is not christianly. It is as we become positive that we will see positive changes in the Christendom, our Christian leaders and secular leaders.

We are not saying evil should be covered or not commented upon, but what is the motive behind posting them or commenting negatively? we can be criticize constructively but let it be with a pure motive and mission. God bless ever one of us.
Religion / Re: Deeper Christian Life Ministry Then, And Deeper Life Bible Church Now. by akaazua(m): 2:08pm On Jul 06, 2011
Well I am much younger in the Lord than you are Sir and I am convinced you know more than me. Can we say it is because pastors you mentioned that were Kumuyi's comrades are no longer with him that things you believe are wrong are happening in the church? Why did you only mention the names of pastors that left the church? Men like Steven Akionla, Alfred Itiowe, Shafe, Ransom Bello, A.O Itiola, Lawon, Isaac Ijalano, Amatare, etc. Sir, sincerely I feel there is no point posting something like this on the net, especially a site like this if you really meant good for your church and christianity in general.

Calvary greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus. I appreciate all our contributions to all the topics posted here about some of the things that have been bothering us in Christendom. However, I wish to appeal that as we decides to air of views and offer our contributions concerning the happenings in the church of God at this time; we should do it in a way that God will be glorified. Let every contribution be born out of a pure motive not to promote self or our churches. After all, we are one. Never try to pull down another church and exalt yours let us all seek to please the Lord. Learn to welcome positive criticism and you can as well be you brothers keeper. He that will not take correction should not correct others. Also remember that in a forum like this we have a kind of mixed multitudes, be wise like a serpent and harmless as a dove. Let not your good be evil spoken of. Let others see Christ in you contribution. God bless you.
Religion / Re: Let Your Light So Shine Before Men This Year by akaazua(m): 9:53am On Jan 21, 2011
^^^^ Easier said than done. Christians have had a hefty part of two millenia to do what you are asking them to do now and they have so far failed. That alone should tell you that something is fundamentally wrong with the doctrine.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the doctrine. For the fact that the command has not been carried out as it should since the last 2000 years is an index that it is a sound doctrine. If there was anything wrong with the doctrine, it would have thrived because the devil facilitates the spreading of false doctrines. He normally fights doctrines like the one in question. He has succeeded in making the Christians to be busy with other things like criticism, fault finding, jealousy and envy and a host of other things. In fact, some Christians are even busy with good things to the neglect of this important injunction. Contrary to your belief, we Christians are still the light and salt of the world. A lot of Christians are adding flavour and preserving the communities in their little corners. A good number are still brightening their corners. I assure you that the devil has failed and will continue to fail. He may be laughing today, but we Christians will laugh at last. God bless you.
Religion / Let Your Light So Shine Before Men This Year by akaazua(m): 12:01pm On Jan 20, 2011
Greeting in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As the coming of our Lord is almost at the corner, it is high time we Christians live up to our responsibility of being 'the salt and light' of the earth. sweeten and preserve the world from decay. Preach the gospel like never before, add taste to the tasteless, bitter wicked world. love you neighbour practically. Brighten the corner where you are. Let your presence scare unbelievers from perpetrating their wickedness but rather make them desire to belong to the Lord. Let people see Jesus in your language, attitudes, behaviour, dressing, comportment and general lifestyle. If you love the Lord then be the 'salt and light' in your little corner. God bless you

[pre]Thank God for the manifold blessings he bestowed upon us during this years programme. It is rather unfortunate that many a times we allow the blessings and fire of God to leak out immediately after great programmes like these. The challenge before us now is to ensure that the fire is not put out, but that it is maintained and retained. This is the time to arise and shine for the Lord. That good thing the Lord did for you during this programme must be guarded jealously. it is well with you in Jesus name.
Religion / Re: Deeper Life Bible Church: Why Avoid Us? by akaazua(m): 4:12pm On Oct 18, 2010
Thank you all for contributing to this very important post. May God help us to be matured enough to offer matured contributions that will help us to serve God better. Be at alert, not all contributors are born-again! so Don't allow the provocative statements to affect you salvation and sanctification, take it with ease my Brother/Sister. Afterall what unites us Christians is more than most of the infinitesimal differences amids us. You contribution will definitely reveal you real nature, we shall know you by your fruit. Remember that the bible warns about striving about words that will not build anybody up. Let us not attempt to give that which is holy unto dogs.
Religion / Why Not Take Care Of The Beam In Your Eye First? by akaazua(m): 10:01am On Jun 30, 2010
Matthew 7:2 cautions against forgetting our sins and concentrating on the little little faults in the life of others. Many times, we play down our faults and exaggerate the weakness of other. We pet ourselves and are harsh with the shortcomings of others. In the words of king Solomon, we keep the vineyards of others and forget about our own vineyard (Songs of Solomon 1:6). Let us judge ourselves first before looking at the lives of others. let us not be quick to judge others and slow to judge ourselves. He that will judge himself will not be judged by the Lord when he comes (1Corinth 11: 31). And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Religion / Re: All Sinners Are Satanists by akaazua(m): 4:03pm On Jun 28, 2010
Thank you for this topic. It is true that he who sins is of the devil. Thank God, Jesus came and died for our sins. You can be saved today no matter what you've done. If the thief who was hanged on the cross beside Jesus could make it to heaven, then we can as well make it to heaven. Afterall, the thief did not pay tithes, he did not submit himself for water baptism, he did not learn catchism, but he received mercy. Pls change your father today. Test and see that God is merciful!
Religion / Judge Not That You Be Not Judged by akaazua(m): 10:10am On Jun 25, 2010
It is very clear from the scriptures that we should not judge others. Matthew7:1  speaks loud about this very important topic. Are we then to accept everything everyone does so as not to judge others? Afterall, the bible also says in 1John4:1 that we should not believe every spirit but we should test the spirits whether they are of God. Is it wrong for me then to test the spirits because some people feel it is being judgemental? 1Corinthians 5:9-13 ,  but now i have written to you not to keep company wit anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or idolater or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner - not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? Is this place not telling us that there is a kind of judgemet that is approved by God; Correcting the believe who is going astray is not bad if it is done in love and with a humble spirit. There must be constructive criticism if we must be truthful to ourselves. Eventhough I am not supporting fault finding, pulling down one another, criticising when we do not have all facts; I think we should give room for constructive criticism. Those who always cry out that we are Judging others are also judging us, else, how do they know we are judging? Let us love one another, pray for one another and correct one another in love with no ulterior motive.
Religion / Take Heed That You Do Not Your Alms Before Men, To Be Seen Of Them by akaazua(m): 3:26pm On Jun 11, 2010
The Bible cautions against making publicity wile giving alms to the poor. Matthew6:1-4 says: Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily i said unto you they have their reward. but when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thy alms may be in secrete and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. It seems that some Preachers take pleasure in publicising the good deeds they do to the less privileged. For example a particular church delights in making the whole world know whenever they give any gift to an individual. this is done by televising it so the whole world will see and glorify the church and the preacher. If the poor receives rice, Clothes, money and help of any kind, the so called good deed will be voiced abroad for everybody to hear and see. Is this not hypocrisy? Are we not stealing God's glory by such act? What is the reason for this ugly practice that makes men receive the glory that should be given to God alone? Please, i do not intend to condemn anyone, only that i feel this is not right. I want to appeal to those who may be offended with this observation goad to take it kindly with me. May God help us so that our GOOD will not be mixed with evil. God bless you all.
Religion / Re: Why Do Youths Run Away From Deeper Life Bible Church? by akaazua(m): 12:24pm On Apr 28, 2010
Not just that youths are running away from deeper life, many people also ran away from Christ when they did not accept his doctrines. Read John6:66. It is not just deeper life church people are running away from, but Mountain of fire, the Lord chosen, Redeem  and almost every other Church. If they could run away from Christ because they didn't accept his teachings, How much less churches today. Even Jesus can not compel people to stay. Pls serve God in the Spirit and truth.
Religion / Re: Is Pastor Kumuyi Our Best Holiness Preacher? by akaazua(m): 9:18am On Feb 11, 2010
Thank God for His servants like Pastor Kumuyi, Pastor Amatare, Bro Gbile, etc, for bringing many into the kingdom. It is not wise to compare God's servants, what we need to do for them is to pray for them and encourage them so they can do more for the Lord. God's servants are talented differently, let us pray for them to make the best use of the talents and grace given to them so that at the end of it all God alone will take the glory. Let us not flatter and tempt them so they don't think of sharing God's glory. According to pastor Kumuyi Holiness is
H - Humility without Hypocrisy
O - Obedience without Obstinacy
L - Love without Lust
I - Integrity
N - New nature
E - Endurance without enmity
S - Self denial
S - Separation from the World.
Remember without Holiness no man shall see the Lord Heb12:14, Be ye holy even as your father in heaven is holy 1Pt1:15-16
