Politics / Re: I Don't Know Where This Belongs! by akuya: 2:31am On Feb 03, 2009
OBVIOUS:

I don't know where this topic belongs but

I have a question and I hope that it is clear, what happens if you have a friend, whose parent has stolen a mass amount of Nigeria's wealth, will you share or spend the money with them if they are offering you items such as cars, rides on private jets, trips all over the world?

Theres a gal, that I go to school with, she's always offering all these things to me, but I feel extremely guilty and will not accept any of her offers because I know the type of family she comes from and I know as a Nigerian that its stolen wealth.

What do you guys think ?

The fact that you are asking these questions show that your moral character may not be quite sound? You tell us that this friend's parents stole (I suppose you have evidence of this) and you are asking if it is OK to help her spend the stolen money. Ill gotten wealth have never been known to get people to heaven if you are a believer.

Now answer your own question yourself.

Xavier, Go for it. I was at another forum where 2 people who met online actually got married. You have nothing to lose.

My compliment is genuine and set in stone, as long as you maintain this new rational and logical way of approaching issues wink

Well, can't speak for you, but as for me cheesy as no one as broken any law yet, this issue is not yet within the remit of my field as a Law Enforcement Sanitising Agent cool

Busy_body,

You sound like a strong feisty babe, even Hillary-like. I want you!!  grin
Jokes aside, peace can indeed reign in this Auto section. Lets keep the mutual respect going.

I suggest inspire_m should give vin numbers of all his cars presently on post, he should also give his office address for transparency.

I AM SCARED OF BUYING CARS FROM NAIRALAND NOW

The man promised to supply VINs on all the cars he posts, he did it for one or two cars, but he is now back to posting without VINs. Hard to understand.

jenju:

Mr/Mrs Akuya,

In case you are new to the forum, please do a search on jenju and read up on how we document all of our transactions. Our integrity is solid, I hope you don't believe that all dealers here are intrinsicly crooked.

Given your recent activities here, I'm sure you will keep us honest. In a way, I welcome this kind of scrutiny. Its good for business, it will force dealers to compete fairly - in which case, I win all the time smiley smiley

Cheers,
J

I'm am a Mister, can't you tell? You misunderstood what I meant by "we are watching". It was not meant to be a negative statement, you should know that everybody know that you are straight forward. I hope all dealers show your kind of transparency.

I wish I could say the same for all dealers here, but we now know better.

Let me suggest that you google this VIN to resolve potential odometer discrepancies. Your source may have rolled back the mileage of this car without your knowlwdge Same car (same VIN) was advertised with almost 80,000 miles a few months ago.

As far as I am concerned posting the VIN show that you didn't set out to be dishonest, you yourself may be a victim. This is the more reason why VINs are necessary.

I think Phammyus also owes everyone an apology. Here was his initial response to the accusation:

NO WEAPON AGAINST PHAMMYUS SHALL PROSPER!

Fellow NAIRALANDS this is my response to ROMEOBEST allegation:

I believe you are just one of the anemies of Progress. In the first place you said you have been ardent fan of NAIRALAND but never registered, the credibility of your status is not accepted to me.

PHAMMYUS is here to put credibility inplace, we discovered many dealers hide their VIN for one reason or the other, best known to them. But PHAMMYUS has nothing to hide because our deals are uncomparable, we make our deals open and sincere. We provide CARFAX report on demand by our customers to clarify our sincerity. I have never seen any Auto Dealer here find it credible to include the VIN of their so advertised cars, so if there is a little miss up in the information given, for the fact that we present the VIN, well wishing NAIRALANDERs or so called ARDENT FAN should at least find it acceptable and not try to detroy PHAMMYUS image.

We give you our words our fellow NAIRALANDERS that this car is not rolled back for any reason, if we have rolled it back we will never had presented the VIN. Though there was a mistake in the mileage we presented, the actual reading is 145,811 mile. By tomorrow, if PHAMMYUS can not present the proof That support this claim we will leave this forum for real. But if we do present the proof, i believe our SINCERITY and CREDIBILITY are reinforced.

We never hide the present condition of our products, we tell the truth and buyers decide on what they go for, maybe the DECEITFUL DEALER or the HONEST DEALER.

ROMEOBEST, it certained that you are the one not wanted on this forum because you had never become one of us. Bring out more credible issues, stop trying to bring people down encourage them to do the right thing like what PHAMMYUS is trying to bring into this forum.

Fellow NAIRALANDERS, to further encourage nairaland auto dealers in doing the right thing for the interest of nairaland auto buyer i suggest this allegation should be treated as INIMICAL which will not help this forum in any way.

I rest my case, thanks and best regards.

It was not until he was pressed by several people that he came up with his final explanation. The question is why did he not simply admit  his mistake when he was first confronted?

Despite all the blame piled on Romeobest on nairaland, I for one applaud him. BRAVO!! Any dealer that will try to sell an accidented car with 145,000 miles and try to market it as a great deal is less than honest. I mean such a car will be needing a new engine, transmission, and a few other parts pretty soon.  If a dishonest dealer can rollback mileage, what makes people think that he cannot roll it forward to prove a point. The fact that this guy did not come clean initially makes me remain doubtful.

People said Romeobest was quick to accuse the seller of fraud - maybe so, but he caught the dealer trying to take undue advantage of unsuspecting buyers.

Romeobest, you have done your bit to sanitise the website. I salute you.

@akuya, I agree but this thread has some history. I just think Phammyus should be given one more opportunity to defend himself by replying to an earlier thread before he is "lynched". Please see the link below:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-173971.0.html

I didn't realise that there was another link regarding this problem. I was reacting to the response of Phammyus, on this thread. Please read his response and see my reaction is far away from lynching.

He started his response with
NO WEAPON AGAINST PHAMMYUS SHALL PROSPER!

Autos / Re: Brand New 2009 Toyota Camry XLE For Sale (Price reduced to 5.5m) !!!! by akuya: 4:37pm On Sep 13, 2008
I think most are the critics the owner of this thread are being a bit unfair. First of all the dealerships in Lagos that sell new Camrys for N5.6 do not yet have the 2009 model. When they do, it will be priced higher than N5.6million.

Secondly, this is a V6 XLE, the top of the line American specs model. If he has overpriced the car, he will not be able to sell it, anyway. Please let the seller be!

At least he is not promising you heaven on earth or selling you salvaged and flooded cars, disguised as clean cars, like some dishonest dealers on this site
