That is how bad that CAR match dropped us. If we win our next two games, no matter what Egpyt does, it would not be enough points to jump 8 places and overtake us at 36. Their next two games and the Arab cup ( suppose they win it all) is simply not enough.

Note that Arab cup games are given the lowest weight as they are friendly games played outside of the international schedule.

If we managed to top Egypt in next FIFA ranking (November) I'm sure 80% sure that they won't be able to top us before the WC/playoff draw

but my WHY ARE WE AFRAID OF DROPPING OUT OF THE TOP 5, as we're hoping to be at the top 5 in other to avoid sen, morr, tuni, Algeria.. Should we be praying that we should avoid them at AFCON proper?, caus to win AFCON we have to beat At least 2 out of those 4, either ourter, semi and Final

and we dey claim say na me get beat Squad pass for Africa

RHOR MEAN BIZNESS, good move
'It's not professional' - Rohr launches scathing attack on Super Eagles GK Okoye

Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr was highly critical of Maduka Okoye during the pre- match press conference on Wednesday, a day before the Super Eagles face off with Central African Republic in a 2022 World Cup qualifier. Allnigeriasoccer.com suggested yesterday that the Sparta Rotterdam glovesman was at risk of losing his spot in the Super Eagles starting XI due to his late arrival in camp and Rohr has confirmed as much . The Franco-German manager questioned the professionalism of Okoye and his commitment to the national team cause after missing his flight to Lagos. It is reflected in the statistics that the German-born goalie had been one of the untouchable players in the Super Eagles, starting all but one of the last ten games played by the Super Eagles A team, but could find himself on the bench for the first time since November 17, 2019 on Thursday.

Speaking at the briefing monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com , Rohr said : "The late arrival of Maduka, he arrived in the night only. He missed his flight, I am not happy about it, it's not professional. "I am not sure that he will start the game, we have two other goalkeepers. "Everybody believes that it will be an easy victory, it's not an easy match and when players are arriving late like this it is not helping us when we say we have to be serious. "He did one training session this morning in the gym, then he will do another training session this afternoon. "I spoke with him, he knows that it is not good, they were trying to have a good flight for him to come early he missed it. "They have to learn to be really serious when they come to the national team."

Okoye, the youngest of the three goalkeepers named in the 23-man list, made his senior debut for the Super Eagles in an international friendly against Brazil in October 2019. Ifeanyi Emmanuel

THE NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FANS (NNFF) AWARDS, 2021 is here.

These awards that have been designed by us, the football fans here, have been a means of showing appreciations for the contributions of our players, to our national teams.

The last 3 editions have seen us present awards to our different National Team players.
Notably 'The Nigerian Player of the year which have gone to: Ahmed Musa, Idion Ighalo and most recently Victor Osimhen.

News of the awards, have seen it's ways into TV station in Abuja, radio station in Benin and some other online news media. In the First year, Award plaques and letter of appreciation were sent to the NFF secretariat in Abuja, for onward delivery to the Nigerian Player of the year and Super Falcons player of the year, and I received an acknowledgement from the secretariat.

As the year is gradually drawing to a close, it is yet that time again to start planning for the awards.

However, for this year, 2021, I have decided to take a back seat to allow someone else to coordinate the session. We have here seasoned analysts who have what it takes to run the show.

Thank you all for the opportunity to serve and coordinate the past sessions. I would be available for any advice or guidance if or where needed.

Looking forward to another fruitful awards session. smiley

Thank you all.

who will handle it this time

CAR coach confirms French-born striker
compared to Frei, Seferovic is in squad to face
Nigeria

Central African Republic manager Raoul Savoy
has confirmed that Neuchâtel Xamax attacker
Louis Mafouta has been included on his
roster for the upcoming 2022 World Cup
qualifiers against Nigeria.
Born in Beaumont-sur-Oise, France 27 years
ago, Mafouta opted to pledge his
international future to Central African Republic
and has scored six goals in 17 appearances
for Les Fauves.
Mafouta is in red hot form at the moment,
scoring nine goals and providing three
assists in his last eight matches for
Neuchâtel Xamax.
"I offered him his first selection in 2017.
Mafouta is truly someone I rely on. Moreover,
I have just called him up for the two matches
that my team will play against Nigeria, on
October 7 and 10, in the World Cup
qualifiers," Savoy said to Swiss newspaper Le
Matin.
Savoy was among the 3,075 spectators at
the Stade de la Maladière a week ago and
saw Mafouta score a brace in Neuchâtel
Xamax's 3-1 win over FC Stade-Lausanne-
Ouchy.
The Swiss-born football tactician has
compared Mafouta to free-scoring Switzerland
international striker Haris Seferovic and
Switzerland's top scorer in history with 42
goals, Alex Frei.
"Louis is the type of modern forward that I
like. He is a warrior, who never lets go and
who can do repetitive races - he has at least
four lungs!
"He really combines all the qualities: he is
able to keep the ball, take the depth or "kill"
a ball within sixteen meters.
"In fact, he has very few flaws. If I had to
compare him to other forwards, I would quote
Alex Frei or Haris Seferovic," concluded

I just like wetin this coach talk, for billing to get 10 cap for Denmark, It will take a miracle
.
l.....

enmark coach insists Premier League stars
keeping Billing out of squad not Nigeria
comments

Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing has
been omitted from the latest Denmark squad
announced on Monday ahead of the
upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against
Moldova and Austria.

The Danish-Nigerian star has been in brilliant
form in the new season, scoring five goals in
nine appearances for the Cherries, who top
the Championship standings.
Few months ago, Billing stated that he was
considering switching his international
allegiance from Denmark to Nigeria after he
was not named in Denmark's squad to the
2020 European Championship.

Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand has
emphasized that Billing's omission from his
latest squad has nothing to do with his
previous comments about playing for the
Super Eagles, adding that the midfielder was
considered for the last matches only for him
to pull out of the roster due to illness.
"You can forget all about that this summer.
It's out of this world, " Hjulmand said to BT .
"And I also took him to the last matches,
where he unfortunately got sick before. So
there is nothing in it."

Hjulmand has claimed that Billing, who is
comfortable playing as a defensive and
offensive midfielder, was not picked due to
tactical reasons.

He pointed out that Billing is behind Brentford
duo Nørgaard and Jensen, Tottenham
Hotspur's Højbjerg and Sevilla's Delaney in
his pecking order of central midfielders, while
Chelsea's Christensen and Valencia's Wass
are utility players who can fill in in central
midfield.
"It is not an opt-out of Philip Billing. But we
have 'Nør' (Christian Nørgaard), Mathias
(Jensen), Pierre (Højbjerg) And Thomas
(Delaney) - and these are the ones I have
chosen here. And it has given us the
opportunity to get an more offensive player.
"We can put Daniel Wass in centrally and we
can throw Andreas Christensen up in midfield,
so I think we are well covered.
"So it's not an opt-out of Philip Billing, and it
has nothing to do with this summer. That
story is out of the world"

Billing's only cap for his country of birth was
in a friendly against Faroe Islands in October

Alfred nwanne m, if you could show me where I made such statement, I promise to shell out the sum of 5k for you to drink beer tonight.

I'm always cautious with my dictions, and I know I never made a declaration using the modal verb "must" but an advice and recommendation with a modal auxiliary verb "should" because I knew beforehand that a day like this would come. It is a challenge.

That said, Ejaria is more or less a youth proponent of Nigeria, and to make matters worse, he isn't good enough for England, and my statement was that "if you have any chances(good enough) of playing for your other country, you shouldn't waste your talent with Nigeria, because Nigeria doesn't deserve you.

no prob brother

Osigwe cannot feature for us. It was discussed here not too long ago that he would have to forfeit his Swiss passport in order to obtain a Nigerian one and represent us. This is why he never showed up again after meeting with Rohr during our 2 game series with Algeria and Tunisia (he wasn't even listed on the team roster).

you're mistaking TOBIAS for OSIGWE

I was imagining something, it may be stupid or no brainier consider the level the country is right now

since JAPAN pull out on hosting the FIFA WORLD CLUB CUP dual to COVID19..
And FIFA secretary SAMOUHA will be in Nigeria this week to flag off the Opening ceremony of AISHA BUHARI Cup,

Why can't we just hijacked the Bidding of hosting the FIFA WORLD CLUB CUP, make we host am for naija here

imagine Chelsea playing against Akwa United
it will help our league

I learnt that SAFA boss will be coming to Nigeria to ask SAMOUHA on what to submit for the hosting right

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, is two games away from becoming a centurion with the national team, The PUNCH reports. Several media reports (The PUNCH not inclusive) reported that the 28- year-old winger would make his 100th appearance for the Eagles in their 2022 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde at the Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena on Tuesday. The Nigerian Football Federation also stated in a statement titled: ‘Qatar 2022 Race: Confident Super Eagles land in Mindelo; Musa delighted with 100th cap prospect’ that the former CSKA Moscow striker would be making his 100th cap for the team. But according to FIFA, the Fatih Karagumruk winger has made 98 appearances for Nigeria and will only become the third Nigerian player to reach the centurion mark playing for the three-time African Champions after Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama if he features for the team in their double-header against the Central Africa Republic next month. Findings by our correspondent showed that Musa featured in two games for the national team, which were not recognised by world governing body FIFA. The games are the unofficial friendly against Togo in 2017, which the Eagles won 3-0 with Musa scoring twice at the Saint- Leu-la-Forêt stadium, in France and the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria, which ended 1-1 in Constantine, but the result was overturned by FIFA and Algeria awarded a 3-0 win, after Nigeria fielded an ineligible player (Abdullahi Shehu) for the game. Checks by our correspondent on FIFA’s website also revealed that former captains of the team, Yobo and Enyeama both have 100 caps each as against the 101 widely reported. Musa made his debut for Nigeria against Madagascar in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier where he came on as a substitute for Mikel Obi. The game ended 2– 0 win. He also scored his first goal for the Eagles in Kenya.
