Delta APC has a good prospect to take over the state in 2023 but if Kachukwu is reappointed , Delta State will become the head quarters of PDP

the essence of appointment is to do the job and to look after the interest of ur people. We can't afford another four years of wasted slot. We bear the first four years because we know that there is an opportunity to change him in 2019. We can't bear another four years of wastage.

Any other person but Kachukwu. How can we have a oil minister in our state and no party man is empowered. A ministry that can empower 1000 people with a stroke of pen. To make matters worse , he couldn't deliver his unit and ward for the president.

This is a passionate appeal to president Buhari, do not make the mistake of reappointing Kachukwu if you know you love APC and you want the party to succeed in the state.

Good morning President Muhammadu Buhari, you may not have been reading this post but some of your aides may have seen it. The reasons you have aides is to advise you in order to avoid making terrible mistakes. Dr. Ibe Kachukwu was a mistake you made in 2015. If you reappoint Kachukwu 95% of APC members in Delta will leave the party for you and kachukwu. Our party members are suffering in the state while the ministers uses private jet to carry his girlfriends every where. The office is not his personal inheritance

Buhari, I want to remind you again because politics is not a child's play, before you appoint Kachukwu for a second term as minister, please endeavor to look at the result of the 2019 election in his ward and local government. With that , you will be convinced that the initial appointment was a wasted appointment

The governorship election is a different game entirely. Some Itsekiri PDP member are likely to Support Uduaghan for senate that is why the APC performance in the national assembly election is different from the governorship election.

ReubenE:

This your pattern of mathematics will not lead us anywhere because we don't know the individual identity of each voter, whether they are Ijaw or Itsekiri. The closest we can do is to draw conclusion from the ethnic spread over the local government.

It would be wrong for anyone to believe that all the Ijaw voters in Warri-South West voted for Atiku because of James Manager.
If the above is said about the governorship election, then it may not be far from the truth.

My brother, the highest votes APC got from Delta South Senatorial District in the Presidential Election was from Warri-South West Local Government....over Forty Three Thousand Votes. Again, the votes PDP got from Delta South Senatorial District in the Gubernatorial Election was from same Warri-South West Local Government. Connect the lines here and see what this truly means.

Even if I want to allude to your argument that APC performed well in Warri-South West because of the influence of Oduaghan and the Itsekiris in the Presidential election, how come Warri-South West returned the highest number of votes for the PDP in the Gubernatorial election, more than all the other Local Governments in Delta State despite the supposed influence of Oduaghan and the Itsekiris in Warri-South West

PEDDLERS OF LIES TO SCORE CHEAP POLITICAL POINTS SHOULD SHUT UP...

Those Going to newspapers to tell cheap and baseless lies when glaring figures are in the public glare should desist. The entire ijaw nation in Delta didnt give President Muhammadu Buhari up to 10,000 Votes which in percentage terms, it is just about 3.5% of the total number of votes . If you are seeking appointment tell better lies not the cheap one. How can one man just wake up from his slumber selling lies on vanguard that Ijaws gave buhari the highest number of votes in Warri South west? The same place Tompolo and Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro came from?

For the records, the ijaws of Warri south west only contributed just about 6% of the total number of votes President Buhari scored, with Itsekiri giving 94%.
Below is the voting pattern and the total number of votes from every ward in warri South west.

Itsekiris restate support for Buhari, Osinbajo, wants Ministerial, NDDC posts

By Samuel Badejo
The Itsekiri people of Delta State have expressed renewed confidence in the ability of President Mohammadu Buhari to deploy his second term to addressing Nigeria's fundamental problems.

In a statement made available to Irohinoodua, the Itsekiri National Youths Council, (INYC) said the victory of President Buhari and his Vice President during the February 23 poll was a product of hardwork reflecting the confidence Nigerians have in the two leaders.

The INYC President Agbateyinmiro Weyinmi and Secretary General, .... signed the statement issued in Warri at the weekend.

The INYC said the Itsekiri support for the duo during the last Presidential poll was "total and overwhelming."

"Out of the 221,000 votes in Delta, we the Itsekiri gave over 75,000 votes representing 35 percent of the total votes and also representing 95 percent of the total number of Itsekiri votes in Delta State. Our support was total. We have also transformed this support to practical actions on the field ensuring that violent activities and economic sabotage activities in Delta state becomes a thing of the past..We achieved this through mass education of our youths because of the confidence we have in Buhari and Osinbajo."

The INYC urged the President to resiprocate the gesture by appointing an Itsekiri person as a Federal Minister while ensuring the the post of the Managing Director of Niger-Delta Development.Commission, (NDDC) is reserved for an Itsekiri person

The group stated "We appeal to President Buhari to appoint people of Itsekiri origin into strategic positions to compensate for the huge votes the All Progressive Congress, (APC) recorded during the February 23 Presidential poll inspite of the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the state.

It said that the decision of the Itsekiri to vote massively for the APC was informed by the strong conviction that Buhari would meet the aspirations of the nationality group who are constantly marginalised in Delta State.

The INYC represents Itsekiri youths from indigenous people Delta State and Edo States

"During the last election, Itsekiri youths gave everything to President Buhari because we trust his economic and social policies. We are anxious to how he wants to show his appreciation to Itsekiri people that have always been at the receiving end of Delta and Niger- Delta politics."

He said even though Itsekiri are the second largest producer of Oil and gas in Nigeria, successive goverments have continued to push the ethnic group to the backbench.

The group however said President Buhari had shown signs of high responsibility and commitment to allay the fears of Itsekiri and ethnic minorities across the country citing his refusal to sign the Maritime University Bill which was skewed against history and subsisting judgement of Courts of Competent jurisdiction.

The youths praised the President for refusing to sign the Maritime University Bill into law adding the proposed law does was not a product of consultation and constructive engagement with all stakeholders.

The group commended President Buhari for embarking on milestone projects in Delta State during his first term the Warri Port Channel, Escravos Break Waters, Railway from Itakpe to Aladja and complete the aged-longed and ongoing East West Road project, the Omadino to Escravos road project to link the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, the Koko, Ogheye to Lagos Road project and revival of the Burutu, Koko and Sapele sea ports to boost economic activities in Delta State , dredging of the Benin River amongst other projects.

The group said as the tenure of the 4th Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) expired on the 25th of January, 2019 and a transition management committee consisting of an Acting Managing Director and two Acting Executive Directors was set up to manage the affairs of the Commission until a substantive board is appointed, there is the need to appoint a honest, transparent and loyal Itsekiri person as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC)

The group said from the year 2001 to January 2019, the substantive Managing Directorship of the NDDC has rotated amongst the four Niger Delta states with the highest quantum of oil production as shown in the table below:
NDDC Governing Board MD/CEO’s From Inception

Substantive MD/CEO

4th Governing Board
Akwa-Ibom State
5 Prof Nelson Brambaifa 2019 – Date 2019 Transition – Ag.MD Nil Bayelsa State

It noted that the four Niger Delta states with the highest quantum of oil and gas production, namely Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states have all produced substantive Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of the NDDC for the full term of four years each and as required by section 3 of the NDDC Act from the year 2001 to 2019.

The groups demanded that in line with well-established rotational arrangement under the NDDC Act which has promoted peace and unity, and a sense of belonging among member states of the NDDC, the next substantive Managing Director of the NDDC should be appointed from Itsekiri which currently is the highest oil and gas producing territory in Delta State.

It noted that by the provisions of the NDDC Act, particularly section 4, the Chairmanship of the NDDC is to rotate among the member states of the Commission in the following alphabetical order:
a. Abia State
b. Akwa-Ibom State
c. Bayelsa State
d. Cross River State
e. Delta State
f. Edo State
g. Imo State
h. Ondo State; and
i. Rivers State.

It said the Chairmen of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Governing Boards of the NDDC were appointed from Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa and Cross Rivers States respectively.

The group said "the next Chairman of the NDDC is also legally expected to come from Delta State in compliance with section 4 of the Act.
It is our hope that Mr. President would as soon as possible appoint a substantive Governing Board of the NDDC in strict compliance with the enabling law establishing the commission in the interest of fairness and sustenance peace in the Niger Delta region"[i]

I think you should read my comment again. If I remember correctly, our discourse here is centred on Delta South Senatorial District, and not population comparison between Ijaws and Urhobos in Delta State.

Urhobo ethnic nationality is majorly found in Delta Central, if you are from Delta state, I'm sure you will know this.

APC got more votes from Warri-South West Local in Delta South, and that Local Government is controlled by Ijaws

DELTA SOUTH POLLS HIGHEST VOTES FOR BUHARI

Prior to the February 23, 2019 Presidential/National Assembly election, Delta State had been a very tough glacier for any opposition party to cut. In 2015, the opposition APC in the state polled a total of 48,858 votes for eventual President, Muhammadu Buhari, a country distance from the ruling PDP’s 1,285,343 votes for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan under former Governor Uduaghan of Delta State.

In 2019, the outcome of the presidential election has sent panic to Governor Okowa’s PDP camp. The opposition APC, bolstered by the defection of former Governor Uduaghan turned in the second highest votes for President Buhari in the whole of the South-South and South East, more than the required 25% of votes to win the presidential election. The Delta APC polled a total of 221,282 votes as against the PDP’s 595,068 votes for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Delta APC may seem to have internal issues which Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and other leaders of the party have been trying to solve, it did not stop them from uniting to poll such historic figure for their President-Elect.

This milestone may affect the outcome of the coming Gubernatorial election in the state.
