Religion / Addition Of More Floors To Synagogue Guest House Was Illegal -lagos State Gov't by allisonluvsu(m): 7:31am On Sep 19, 2014
The Lagos State Government has indicted Prophet Temitope Joshua, General Overseer, Synagogue Church of All Nations, over the collapse of a 6-storey guest house in his church.

Death toll in the tragedy which occurred last Friday has hit 80 as rescue workers intensify efforts to evacuate the remaining victims trapped under the rubble. There is likely no hope of any more survivors.

•Prophet T.B. Joshua: Indicted

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Lagos State Government insisted that Joshua did not have approval for the building, therefore the addition of more floors to the existing two-storey building was illegal.

Source: http://naija247news.com/2014/09/lagos-implicates-t-b-joshua-as-death-toll-hits-80/#.VBvKs6Oh-XU

The government, however, said investigations were still on as to why the building collapsed.

Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Olutoyin Ayinde said government would not shut down the church until investigations were concluded.

Ayinde expressed sincere condolences and sympathy with those that lost their loved ones and those that were injured in the unfortunate incident.

He said the Government and indeed the Ministry was particularly saddened that innocent lives were lost.

The Commissioner clarified that no plans were in the offing to take over the collapsed structure site until thorough and detailed investigation as to the cause(s) of the collapse had been concluded.

According to him, government is conducting a preliminary investigation into the cause(s) of the collapse and would leave nothing to chance to unravel what cause the building to collapse.

He added that if there was any violation of relevant planning laws, government would take appropriate action.

To this end, Ayinde said a team of engineers from the Ministry and other state government agencies were taking samples from the foundation and materials from the wreckage of the building for detailed analysis.

He stressed that government does not arbitrarily take over properties when testing to ascertain the structural integrity of any building that collapses.

On the veracity of the “Strange Plane Theory,” alleged to have dangerously flown low over the building 50 minutes before the collapse, he said the Ministry had submitted the video clips, as provided by the Church to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) with the coordinate of the collapsed site for investigation and professional comment.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on the Environment, Tobun Abiodun, has expressed belief that some government officials may have allowed themselves to be compromised and influenced to allow the church construct the collapsed building illegally.

Ordinarily, officers in-charge of physical planning in the state are supposed to act where buildings become defective or where they do not follow laid-down procedures, he argued.

Tobun, who described the incident as a major disaster and a great loss, however, condoled with the families of the deceased and said the government needed to be more careful and pro-active to prevent a similar incident from happening again.

Quoting a report by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Tobun said that the building ought to have only four floors instead of six, according to the foundation of the house.

“But my concern is that we have town planning officers that should supervise buildings in the state, they are accomplices. There is no way someone would build a six-storey building instead of four and they would say they were not aware. I believe that they compromised standard.

“Until they know that if they compromise in any way they are risking people’s lives, there would be problem. They should be more pro-active in the discharge of their duties,” he said.

But the Chairman of the Physical Planning Committee of the House, Mufutau Egberongbe, while defending the officials of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, urged Nigerians to adopt voluntary compliance to laws as enforcement of the laws is supposed to be a last resort.

One of the challenges facing the ministry, according to Egberongbe, is the lack of adequate staff.

“How many are the staff of the ministry to go round Lagos when buildings are springing up on a daily basis? Voluntary compliance to laws should be our primary responsibility,” he said.

He said the government officials would have faced heavy criticisms from people if they had decided to implement the law to the letter in relation to the building, adding that it even costs the government money to carry out demolition of structures.

To him, if the church had done what it should do, the incident would have been averted.

Jobs/Vacancies / Possible Reasons You Failed That Job Interview by allisonluvsu(m): 12:13pm On Sep 16, 2014
Now here are some possible reasons you failed that job interview below:

No Confidence

This virtually happens to every Tom and Dick around you. The anxiety involved especially when going for a job interview sometimes can not be controlled or managed by an individual who is desperate for the Job. You must build up your self confidence and expression when you are before the panel. Remember, treat them the way you would like to treat your Boss.

Poor Dressing Style

Mr Man you are not going for a showbiz but a Job interview. Why dress in Timberland boots, sag your trousers, wear a rough hair cut, put on a Polo with the inscription “I don’t give a F*ck” and expect to get that Job. Heaven knows that even before your panel you lost quite a high score and if you continue in that way, that will be your end. Your dressing should be influenced by the type of Job interview you are going for. So if you are going for a Job interview in a banking institution, dress like them and hunt them down with your brilliant attitude . Remember that adage that says “To convince a child, you must come down to there level” try that and see your magic work out.

Late Coming

Oh No! this annoys me the most. You were booked for an interview for 8am and you are going to meet your panel by 8:30am. Now tell me, what do you expect them to think of you? Ok let me help you with that. They are going to think you are one less concerned and unserious applicants looking for the next company to destroy. In as much as you rule the game, try to live by the rules of the game. It will help you alot

On a serious note, if you watch the way the buildin collasped, you will have a rethink of what caused it again.
Religion / Boko - Haram Attacked Scoan Guest House - TB Joshua by allisonluvsu(m): 7:50pm On Sep 15, 2014
The founder and General overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T. B. Joshua has said Boko Haram may be responsible for the collapse of a six-storey building in the church premises.

Joshua, who told members of his church on Sunday not to be afraid, said the attack was targeted at him and not at them.

The prophet made it clear that the collapse of the six-storey building at around 11.45am on Friday which led to the death of no fewer than 16 persons was a Boko Haram attack.

Joshua buttressed his claim by showing to his congregation on the Emmanuel TV the chronology of events shortly before and after the accident as captured by the church’s CCTV.

He said, “I received a phone call immediately I got here, just 10 minutes later when I was in the church, that there was a jet hovering over the mountain where I had just left. They said it was hovering at a close range. Before I knew it, I received another phone call that the same jet was now at the church hovering over the building, passing it four times at a very close range before the building collapsed.”

Joshua read to the church a letter which he said was addressed to him by a Boko Haram member, confessing how he had attempted to plant a bomb inside the church.

Joshua said his church was being attacked to scare away members.

“This environment at Ikotun Egbe, we have never witnessed an accident of a building collapse. This is a very stable terrain. I have been here for the past 30 years. I am pregnant with words, but we have left the security agencies to do their job. Let us believe and educate our people and be alive.”

Assuring his congregation that God would bring the perpetrators of the attack to book, Joshua said that the decision of the insurgents to focus on his church might be the end of the Boko Haram’s activities in the country.

He said,“I know you will ask why the church? It is because of the spiritual blessings that God has bestowed upon us. A big head wears a large hat.

“Don’t forget about the Ebola issue too, it was God that rescued the church. Probably they would have dropped an Ebola patient inside the church, so that they would said, ‘there is an Ebola patient in the church, don’t go there.’

“They are trying to scare you from coming to church. Don’t be scared, you are not the target, I’m the target. I know my time has not yet come. I have not yet finished my job.

“I want to assure you that our God will get back at them and you will know when he gets back to them. May be this would be the end of the whole thing.”

Meanwhile, the death toll had officially risen to 44, while 130 people were said to have been rescued alive.

The National Emergency Management Agency on Sunday said that 44 dead bodies had been recovered, while 130 people trapped in the collapsed Synagogue building had so far been rescued.

The Public Relations Officer of NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this via a text message to our correspondents.

Farinloye, however, told the News Agency of Nigeria that 80 per cent of people rescued from the collapse building were women.

He said that two female children, aged four and eight years, were among those rescued from the building.

harizonal123: Take a look at the last time the aircraft flew around the building and the part of the building that depressed most during the collapse. It could be an attack. U can't rule that out with the helicopter hovering so close. Just keep your minds open as u watch

At first when i heard the news on write up, i was like "how can it be an aircraft" but with the closeness to the building, possibly. Lets consider vibration from the aircraft to the building, and on the other side, lets consider how durable the building is.Somehow, i question the foundation of the building and the architectural structure put in place and somehow too, the aircraft might have contributed to the collapse. In my own opinion, the building maybe was not erected firmly and secondly (Blame it on faulty foundation), the Aircraft should have not flown that low on a building coz it is possible to cause resonance on the building

BobNeli: . If there's a true man of God in this part of our world, it is prohet TB Joshua. The Bible made it clear that we should know everyone by their fruits. The manner and conduct of the said man of God is undisputably in accordance with what is espected of a true servant of God. However, we must always be abreast of the fact that no one irrespective of our level of sprituality, is above life's challenges. Job, who was a man after God's heart faced his at his own time. David the anointed king of Isreal had to write psalm 51 at the face of his own challenges when they came. As far as we are yet operating in human capacity, no one is excluded from life's challenges. Even him Prophet TB Joshua used to say that God has not promised us a life free of challenges, but He has promised to see us through them all. So lets not rush into conclucsions. We will see and know hw God will clear His servants face. Amen!

Yea. Thanks buddy. Is quite clear on dat and dats y i really do not want to enter into a dialogue coz i have no valid point. I detest judging pple so i won't be judged. Thanks onnce again
