Seek to express yourself and reflect an education. It is indeed very sad when supposedly educated people display unparalleld lethargy which manifests in the form of poorly researched information being blurted out in the public space. Why not research a little about Allen Oyeama with the intent of uncovering who he really is. Why conclude erroneously that Air Peace is a metamorphosis of Peace Mass Transit? SouthEastFacts: |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Should I Continue With The Teaching Job Or Take The Van Sales Rep Job by Allstrasse: 5:12pm On May 01, 2019 |
Your post reverberates with fear. But that fear is quite understandable. That is what happens when you get a reasonable paying job in an apparently 'established' institution. I would advise that you look at it very dispassionately. This may just be your opportunity to launch into an aggressive and demanding career that has the potential of changing the trajectory of your life forever. I assure you that this is a lucky break irrespective of the apparently poor commencement reward structure. Sales is very similar to teaching in many respects but it does offer more opportunity for career growth and prosperous living. Where and what you could transform into (especially when in a serious organization with germane leadership and good governance) will amaze you when you look back in just a few years. You will be grateful you took the decision to leave. I am predicating my resolve on the fact that you actually decided to apply for the position while teaching and earning 'reasonably well'. This could only mean that you desire more from life than the paltry 50k. I really do not care about the reward structure as this is typical of beginner positions in the Sales career. What you will learn and the opportunities you will be exposed to will miniaturize your current experiences. In a short while from now (depending on how dedicated/committed and hardworking you are) jobs will be searching for you rather than the other way round. You will become so well sought after that at some point you will be the one determining your rewards for the potential employer. Look around you and you will find out that almost all experienced and performing Salesmen are always gainfully employed. This should be an indicator for you as you objectively approach this major intersection of your life. You will be frustrated sometimes of course but your overall fulfillment wil dull all else. in the process you will discover yourself and uncover many talents and gifts you didn't know were slumbering deep within you. Summarily a giant will awaken within you! Good luck Sir in whichever course you choose to pursue. 1 Like |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Have You Been Coping After NYSC With Or Without A Job? by Allstrasse: 10:47am On Apr 12, 2019 |
Muzikluva: Ridiculous as it may sound this is a good sign believe me. You have just hit gold and rather than complain bitterly, you should be holding a thanksgiving session and I mean every single word of this. In this day and age you have nothing to complain about. You have just about everything you need to excel beyond your wildest imagination. You could use this phase in your life to overcome so much, just by leveraging on your current situation and circumstantial dynamics. If you look around you carefully and listen attentively to the prompts you could be guided to take advantage of your current situation and use it as the required impetus to swing up to victory. Life is passing you a message but the question is; are you listening or you are more engrossed with how you prefer to see the answer such that the answer you have been given is just perching on your nose? Fortunately for you, your eureka moment came before age 30 and not much later. Statistics is a great discipline but who says you must be a Statistician or even work in a related field? Your course of study may not necessarily be what will put food on the table or what will bring the gravy stream into your life. Conduct an objective self appraisal and I assure you that if you do this dispassionately, you will be guided into great opportunities that exist within your environment. These opportunities have always been there and never have they been more obvious than now. I must however warn you that these opportunities will be dressed in the garb of hard work and humble beginnings but they will most definitely change your developmental trajectory in ways that will wow everyone around you. The rule of thumb for me is that the more difficult/demanding the opportunity appears at the beginning the more exciting the results will be if you are capable of persevering and emerging victorious. Nairaland and its many threads especially in the business section contain resources that you would ordinarily pay very ridiculous amounts in respectable business schools to acquire. Study it and most importantly ensure you take action. By the way, your post makes an interesting read and by extension reflects how intelligent you must be. The onus is on you to transform this intelligence into something worthwhile in real life if you are to benefit. A bridge is needed to link your intellectual sagacity with actual living in the real world especially in opportunity saturated environments like Nigeria. Open your eyes and look clearly man. Look, look, look and look. Wishing you results that are commensurate with your persistence. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Allstrasse: I am of the opinion that fresh graduates could actually consider applying for the advertised role. i mean look at the advert closely. Its a role that just about any smart candidate can attune herself to fill. And the pay of 30,000.00 appears reasonable. All you need to do is state clearly your SSCE and during the interview you can then mesmerize the panel/individual with how excited and passionate you are about customers such that money is no longer a driving point in your search for a Customer-Centric job. |

I will try to update this thread at least once a week such that those who are interested can benefit from what is available within a reasonable distance to their residence. I will only publish opportunities that are genuinely verified and for which I can vouch for the company advertising. Of course other Nairalanders may publish what they come across but I can only be held responsible with the ones I post. To make it easy for all applicants I will request that whenever a job that they are interested in is posted they should send their details ( Name, Age, Gender, Qualification, Location and phone number to 0 9 0 5 2 7 2 5 1 4 5 by SMS or whatsapp. I assure you that all applicants will be called and interviewed and recommended where they may be considered qualified for the next stage. |

This thread as the topic indicates is created in the interest of Diploma qualified and SSCE Holders who are in the labour market. For reasons bordering on the present state of our national economy, many employers are now tending towards recruiting young, smart ND/SSCE candidates and training them to meet their expectations. Several companies like this abound here in Lagos. At the moment I have 4 manufacturing companies requesting for ND/SSCE candidates who are interested in being trained to fit into an area of specialty where their potentials will be harnessed and developed. The different areas where they are recruited and trained for include but not limited to; Customer Care, Front Desk, Operations, Cleaning/Janitorial Services, Sales and Marketing The above list is by no means exhaustive. Other areas exist like Storemanship, Logistics/Operations Assistant. |
